Thats funny, before you said you felt your face was a little orange, I was going to leave a comment telling you that I didn't feel you are matched correctly for #128. I'd say you are more of a #127. Definitely go for one that has only yellow undertones not beige and definitely not pink. Good video, kudos.
what other makeup do you wear that works for you??? I also have oily skin and am looking for a new foundation. Im currently using studio gear at the moment and want a new foundation since i look powderer
I liked the MUFE HD foundation but not enough to pay over $40. After I finished my sample I decided to pass (but the color was perfect). I do like the MUFE Matte + Velvet way better. BUT I still think it's not that much better than my Revlon Colorstay which is less than 1/2 the price. I might even like my Revlon Photo ready just as much too.... I dunno. Maybe I'm just a cheapo. :P
Would this foundation be good for taking pictures (wedding pictures)? Would it give me that white cast effect? If so, can you recommend a good drugstore and/or high end foundation that wont?
ooommmggg everytime I go to sephora theyy always seem like they dont know what their doing So i just pick everything out myself and They try to make their suggestions but ... They really do not know what their doing ... I went to the manhattan Sephora too ..err
do you this foundation would stay "matte" if set with any setting powders? i've been so eager to try this because im still looking for a HG foundation :(
128 is a WEIRD shade!! i had it also, and am NC30. you need to try it in 120 123, or 125 ! those are all good just depends on what u think your undertone is ! try again GERL!!
i had the same problem the MUFE HD Foundation after wearing it I looked orange to I'm also a #128 MUFE HD...I don't know if its normal but when I used the HD primer it sting my face...I'm not sure if I wanna buy it too, lucky my sister purchased it before I did..lol...
She lives in Canada. In Canada they go by degrees in celsius not farenheit. In America, we go by farenheit. She means that is over 80 degrees if she was measuring in farenheit. =0)
you may think its bad quality but compared to most girls here its amazing most girls do tutorials in candle lit rooms soooooooooo annnnnoying!!! this is good tho
i ddnt like skinfood it doesnt stay for hours and it makes my skin darker. can u recommend a foundation that could stay for long hours and looks naturally flawless?thanks!
If you want foundation to stay for a long time, you need to use Make up Primer( try MAC). If you have oily skin, you should put a mattifier (try Murad) under the primer. If you use these, even L'oreal foundation will look like a high end make up.
If you have oily skin why didn't you try the MUFE Mat Velvet + Foundation? No matter how good a foundation is, if it isn't meant for your skin type then it won't work.
I have combination skin and I use both the MUFE HD Foundation and the MUFE Mat Velvet + and they both work well for me even in the summer (where I live it's about 33 degrees on average).
I would suggest getting a sample for Mat Velvet + in a shade meant for yellow undertones since #128 is meant for beige undertones.
i have the mac moisture tint and it moisturizes and provides the right amount of coverage and color to your face without it being to heavy! it my favorite go to product! i really recommend that everyone try this! Along with a light application of mineralize skin finish looks great over it!
I did get a sample of this when the Baby Blooms collection came out, but I wasn't a fan for the first couple times using it. But recently I tried it again and I'm liking it more and more!! I'm seriously considering buying the full size :) Thanks for the tip!
It means "Ladies Street" which is a name for a shopping market area in Hong Kong :) The sign is just kind of a touristy souvenir I brought home with me hehe :D
I live in Vancouver as well. I tend to be pretty active so I sweat, and I also have eczema so I get patches of dry skin on my face. Instead of using liquid foundation I decided to try BareEscentuals mineral powder foundation, they sell the starter kit at Sephora or Shoppers Drug Mart. So far I like it because it doesn't feel like I'm wearing makeup and the coverage is fairly good, it looks very natural. I would suggest doing a review of the BareEscentuals kit =p
Ya I think I've developed kind of a dislike for liquid foundations (just based on my limited experience so far)...but I still go back and try new ones every once in a while just to keep an open mind haha...still always disappointed :(
Thanks for the tip!! I haven't really gotten into mineral foundations too much yet...but I definitely should ^^
I have a sample of the MAC Tinted Moisturizer as well! I've only used it one day so far so I can't really fairly comment on it yet, but lots of other people have said great things about it too! :D
Thanks so much for your suggestions...ah so many good suggestions from everyone I don't even know where to start anymore :D
hi i use to had the same problem !but this is not a mat finish foundation is a dewy finish !and if ur in a hot weather that has everything to do cause it turns really shiny!
Yes definitely the dewy finish can do that to you :( Maybe I'm just not made for a dewy finish foundation...or maybe I should just wait for this heat wave to pass hehe :)
Check my chanel for inspirational music for real people. My song 'Cry' is for anyone battling low self-esteem and lonliness. The End is near. God bless you.
Just from a skin tone match perspective, I've had success with Shiseido foundation. It perfectly matches my Asian skin tone. I find the Ochre tones suit the yellow undertones well. It doesn't look muddy, sallow or orange on me. Good luck. :D
Oh great idea! For some reason I have never thought of targeting Asian brands to match my skin (gosh I don't know how that never came to me lol). Great suggestion and I'll definitely check it out :D
Oh really?? Which concealer in particular? I've heard great things about the concealer palettes (that come with 5 different colours). I'm debating purchasing the one with the green and peach corrector colours :)
A tinted moisturizer is a great idea for hot weather. Unfortunately, Vancouver is not really known to be that hot (we're having a bit of a strange summer this year)! Most of the year it's cloudy or raining, and the temperature tends to stay quite mild. I think if I bought a tinted moisturizer I would take FOREVER to use it up, since I prefer the coverage of a foundation when I can get away with it :) Thanks for the suggestion though!!! It's a great idea!
I tried a lot of high brand foundation and my holy grail foundation is the Maybelline Mineral Power ! With a tiny bit of primer (Smashbox) or Vichy Aqualia Mat moisturizer under, and a bit of Natural Medium MSF from MAC over, it's really the best foundation I've ever tried !
I asked for a sample to take home. You can ask the salespeople at Sephora for a sample of basically anything in the store to try for a few days before deciding if you want to purchase it :)
oh...that's really cool! we don't have a sephora here, because i live in the uk..and i don't actually think they give out samples! =( would be amazing if they do though!
I have found that MAC Oil Control Lotion and MAC Matte both have the same level of performance for me. I've also tried Smashbox Photo Finish Primer, which worked quite well (but was very similar to MAC Matte). I have never tried MAC Prep+Prime, but there are mixed reviews about it out there...
Yay!! Good luck...I hope it works better for you than it does for me :( Let me know if you use anything to prime/set your foundation...maybe a different combination will help (but I guess it won't help solve the orangey colour problem lol)
lol ohhhh...gosh I'm so dumb. lol. Thats nice weather though!! But I'm sure your not used to it. I'm sure I'd die in your winters lol. Its about 109 here in the afternoon. bleh. haha.
Haha no you're not dumb!! I didn't specify in the video :( I'm definitely not used to this kind of weather...in Vancouver 20 degrees C is considered pretty warm already LOL!! Wow your weather is so hot!! How do you deal with it?
30 DEGREES!!!!!!!!!!! OH MY GOSH!! That would be wonderful right now. lol. I'd soooo be frozen. lol What are your winters like!!!?? I can only imagine..yikes!! lol. I live in Texas, so you and I are like from one extreme to the other! lol.
Hehe just to clarify, that's 30 degrees Celsius...which is about 86 degrees Fahrenheit ;) Our winters in general are around 0 degrees C (32 degrees F)
I'm sorry to hear that you don't like this foundation because it's my favorite. When I went to Sephora to buy it (I'm an NC 20/ MUFE HD foundation in 118), the ma told me that this foundation is supposed to give you the dewy look, so that's probably why you find oily...along with the hot weather. Sephora has a really good return/exchange policy, so I encourage you to re-match for color and try using the foundation in the fall and winter. I also recommend their HD powder :)
Ahhh ya I can understand the "dewy look" but I actually got oily oily :( It just wasn't for me, but it seems to work great for other people (including you!) Luckily I just got a sample to try first, so no need to return -- but thanks for the tip! I'll keep it in mind in the future :D
Hmm ya you're right hehe. I guess what I mean is that I like things that are simple / easy / don't take much time to do and that won't require much attention throughout the day once it's done. I guess this just kind of suits my lifestyle because I'm often on the go and don't want things to be too complicated :)
I bought the Smashbox HD Foundation and overall I was disappointed. It was too sheer for me. But I did get a free sample of the MUFE HD Primer, and I actually like it. Not that I really need a primer with my oily skin... :S
Ah I've heard good things about the MUFE HD primers too...but now I'm a bit skeptical about whether it would work for me, seeing as how the foundation didn't :(
The Microperfecting primer. I'm not usually a fan of primers, but I like this one. It smells nice, almost like a facial lotion, and it isn't greasy. However, I don't know if I would actually purchase it (because of the whole oily skin thing, and primers tend to make me break out).
Oh that sounds nice! The thing I don't like about most primers is the oily gel-like feeling to it...Maybe I'll try this one out! Some people's skin is just more sensitive to different products. My skin seems to not like liquid foundation very much haha :(
Hmm...I think on it's own the result is not that noticeable. If you want to control the oil problem, I would recommend the Prep+Prime finishing powder. I noticed a great deal of improvement with that product!
Go for lancome's maqui blanc miracle foundation. I have oily-sensitive skin and it does wonders. Lasted very long and doesnt feel heavy at all. :))

I'm not a fan of this foundation either.
I'm currently in love with the New MAC Tinted Moisturizer. It gives me enough coverage like a regular foundation.
Also, Bobbi Brown has another good foundation called Skin Foundation. It's a water based foundation so its more healthier for your skin, I think.. ;D
