Thank you for sharing this song!!!! Just listen to the Harp, strings, vocals and picture the seaside, the ocean breeze, and that beautiful soft woman, her lovely smile, the scent of her perfumed hair and skin, that for perhaps only this one moment in time, lies lovingly beside you, or even... perhaps foerever... somewhere, sometime... Beautiful Song!
I had just turned 16 in June of 1970. Heard this song on our local Top 40 FM station WNCI. Our soul station was an AM. WNCI had an amazingly diverse chart called "The Hot Half-Hundred". I still have those charts. With this song are Trying To Make A Fool Of Me-Delfonics, Maybe-Three Degrees, So Much Love-Faith Hope & Charity, Everything's Tuesday-Chairmen of the Board, Everybody's Got The Right To Love-Supremes. Excellent summer of music on a POP station! Also Hand Clapping Song-Meters.
Donald McPherson had one of the smoothest tenors ever; His life was tragically cut short by leukemia days before his 30th birthday. For other examples, check out their wonderful cover of Curtis Mayfield's "I'm So Proud" and the beautiful "Spinning Around".
