  • My mom lost her only little brother few months ago.. When I was listening to this song all I could remember was the beautiful relationship they shared.. We miss you mamu.. :(

  • a nice song with a very sensitive thoughts...

  • This song functions on so many levels. Literally: A married woman pining for her maternal home, hoping to hear from her brother who will take her home. Historically: Reflects the days when women were considered from another family once married, and she is lamenting her lost home. Emotionally: A cry for the lost, bygone, happy past from a present borne down by chores and grief.

  • @lalwanimoti......I didn't mean S.D.B. I meant "boiragirules"

  • great song i love his song.

  • Sd.Burman you are really great .I love your voice very much.

  • @boiragirules: Would like to meet you. R u based in India?

  • @picchhi He is no more. He died in 1975. One of the greatest music directors who could sing so well.

  • Really old is gold.

  • @subrotox you are right..it was written by his wife Mira Dev Burman...

  • tell me dear friend how to console my mother....the way she cries.... my god.. ... no words to make myself understand that my brother is not there anymore.....every now and then I look for him in a mass / gathering - with tremendous desire that I will get a glimpse of him...... what a loss................................................

  • @picchhi there is no way she can be consoled. Unfortunately, and one day when she will go and meet your brother and ...then she will find peace, not before. Unless she find streangth wihtin herself. I lost both of my parents very early.. i do get sad but I have to find courage to get up..and get things done. Kichu korar nei...this pain is unbearable..yet..life has to move on. There is no answer...and the best is to never to ask questions.

  • boddo kosto hoy ......way too much pain when you hear this...

  • when you are not there, you do not realize a bit of the pain your survivors go through. I cannot bear this missing of you anymore. Ma has gone mad......dada...ki korli

  • @picchhi i got sad after reading ur text. May Almighty takes care of u and ur family!

  • @picchhi may peace find all of you.

  • amar na pran ta vora gasa.

  • Whenever I heard this magical song only in the voice of late S.D. Barman, I feel eternal Bangla--as if I can touch it. This song is so much reflective for the culture of Bengal. A married girl spends long time at husband's house; then, she started missing her old days: good time with brothers, sisters and good friends. Now she is urging the passing by boatmen in river to let know her brother to come and take her to her sweet home left behind. Thanks for the uploading.
