I dont know how I came across this video but this is amazing and really makes me open my eyes. Im very observant and selfless due to the fact that my husband is in the army and serving overseas so I dont take much for granted, but the fact that anything can happen at any given moment. I wish nothing but the best for you, obviously nothing will hold you back and thats great.
Like, even though your spine is hosed, you get up from the floor very well. This is important because floors generally harbour a much greater concentration of germs than do other areas. You are an inspiration to many folks. Way to go, babe!
@TheGtagtr Holy shit, of all the douchebags I've seen on the internet you take the cake. 1st, He didn't break his neck. He is a paraplegic, meaning he broke his back. This means he can't move his legs but he can move his arms. 2nd, talking about how careful you constantly are so you don't get paralyzed comes off as you saying that he wasn't, and you are somehow better than him because of it. You don't know what happened to him, so don't judge.
after watching all of these wheelchair people doing transfers and stuff
no offence.
i have extremities on all bones and muscles. in my feet, toes, fingers, arms etc.
my dad has a friend that lives in orofino, idaho and he is a paraplegic.
everyday i make it a point not to slip and fall, and not to hit my head on anything, not to get into a car accident, etc. i want to be able to walk for the rest of my time..
@TheGtagtr why would i give a shit that you can walk, like its some amazing feat or something, still sounds like your being a dick. and just so you know i never broke my neck.
Great vid man! I am aT12 and always use another object to help, like a chair or any thing i can get a little hight advantage from. This clip helps a lot. Straight up they never showed me this shit in rehab so i have learned all i know by either trial and error or others. mostly trial and error "lots and lots of errors"
Nice video. Thanks for sharing. Would be great if you could share with us on our social network for sci's . google "pushrim" you will see "life after injury". Take care :)
my boy-friend hasn't got his triceps and can't do that unfortunatly... but it is really good that you show that with everyone, i m sure that some will use your technic!... I think right now that we should put our technic too... but i m not sure my half would like to show the position he takes (his head between my legs, his bum in the air flying... after all i m not so sure it is good to show :(
im a active t-5,12 yr para..this kids definetly a fkn class 2,,makes it look like butta...class 2 as in low t area,,,my buddies a t-12 and he does his floor to chair just like that,,shifts hips a lil too along with it....nice job bro,,,,
Great job with the transfer. You do yours almost identical to the way I do mine. You're right, keeping your head down and your feet out of the way make it so much easier. Kudos.
That totally amazes me... I thank God that I still have my legs. Anyone can get into an accident and become paralyzed... Keep up encouraging others, your an God sent!
What was it like to wake up and know you are t-10 complete? What was it like the first time, I'm asking because you weren't born with it so you have experienced both sides of it.
i knew i was parylized before they pulled the truck off me, i remember my brother telling me "dont say that man, they dont know for sure yet" but i did, i knew. i dont know if it was all the drugs or what but i just accepted it right there and told myself im gonna do all i can to still be me. 6 months later i was driving my own car and living alone again in my new house. it doesnt even bother me, god bless all my family and friends for being there.
dude your kinda lucky that your 25 cause im 16 (wrecked back in october, hit by a car went airborn and hit a tree (they didnt even stop) but yea im basically stuck at home with a worrysome mom basically not allowed to do anything anymore. i can basically forget about driving till im 18. oh, and you also never had to suffer the short bus :(
i take the short bus to school dude it sucks so bad lol it makes you feel kinda stuck out but look at it this way not everyone has their private way to school lol
@whysohigh your like how i was man..i got hurt 13 yrs back,,,go blank before the crash but alot of trauma memory came back from getting to the hospital and just knowing i was fked especially with the other shit i had goin on like a subdural hematoma, collapsed lungs and half my face peeled...ya i was in rehab 2 mos then back to graduate highschool 2 days later at 18 yrs old then got into wheelchair sports etc softball....keep goin bro.....stronger than all i s my motto
I personally was in a car wreck when I was 14 and am a T-2 complete. It's something to pass out or go to sleep and wake up like that. Honestly, it's very hard to describe the feeling considering it was a horrible car wreck at the same time. I was more concerned about my family than myself. But in the long run, I don't see my paralysis as my disability, I see it as my challenge.
Have you talked to lee beaver about a kit so you can ride a bike again? I bought a kit from him an its great i have it on my 02 yamaha R1. If you want his number or info or anything hit me up
im not sure, i just fell one day and knew i couldnt do it before but tried anyways and got it, every time after that it just got easier. keep practising.
Am a T6/7 complete para for 2 year's now, i need to get practicing but my spasm's just do my head in.Seem's like hardly any american's have them on hear.
thanks i did it myself, a little bit of adhesion promoter, this new anodized paint for chrome and polished metal, they sell it at auto zone, and lots of tape. lots of tape.
