Im thinking you don't know much about Iowa. It's an incredibly progressive state: ie I don't think hillbilly states usually write the tests that the other states use to measure educational progress, nor do they allow gay marriage. I'm not originally from here, but I can tell you that St.Louis (lived there) is much more hillbilly than Cedar Falls or Iowa and the whole state of Kansas (lived there) is too.
