  • sad they are pulling out of africa and thailand and focusing on L.A route but it might be for the new re branding of the whole virgin blue airline!!

  • this quit a big ass airliner

i thought the 777's were old and small but woah

i am flying with them this year when my fam goes to L.A

but we stop at sydney first

can someone tell me what we do.

do we go through customs? and get out and go to international terminal

    please write back

  • @crazydave1212

If you are flying to SYD on Virgin Blue you're bags will most likely be checked through to LAX. You will have to get the transfer bus to the international terminal, go get your boarding passes from VA service desk, then go through customs & immigration and enjoy your trip!

  • all of you just shut up

  • i fly qantas for business and when i am paying myself i fly virgin or v australia and let me tell you virgin leaves qantas for dead. i am not fooled by flashy ads i am lured by better service

  • Im going on one of those in January,, over to LA! woo!

  • Their livery isn't as nice as Virgin Atlantic.

    Fantastic planes though

  • debateable, if you like a simplistic yet effective livery, you'll like virgin atlantics livery

    if you prefer a more detailed and 'different' livery you'll prefer the v australia livery;

    im a different person:P

  • hey fragglepuppies, if qantas are so great they wont mind a bit of competition then. They have had a monopoly on the melb/syd-LA market for too long and priced their fares accordingly. V Australia bringmuch needed competition to the route and when delta start in July it will be even better. Qantas have increased fares and cut back on staff, hooray for V Australia and Delta.

  • I agree with you. The fares to New Zealand and Australia have been so out of reach. Being a travel consultant, perhaps I can finally send people to both of these beautiful countries.

  • make sure that they fly with VA:) heheh

  • Hey rudeness181971, We will see who is still operating in a few years. Enjoy your cheap flights and cheap service.

  • i flew to LA with v australia in april and there service was excellent. totally professional, i had a flight yesterday from sydney to melb with qantas, flight 453, due to leave sydney at 5pm. boarded at 4.45pm, flight took off 6.30pm. no apology, reason, we are doing paperwork. dont tell me who is profesional.

  • So your experience is the only one that counts?

Did I tell you who was professional?

If you dislike Qantas then why fly Melb-Syd with them?

  • when i fly for business i dont have a choice who i fly with. my company secretary books flights, if i had a choice i would not fly qantas, if i wanted to spend an extra hour or two in sydney i would have booked a later flight, and to say in your earlier post "enjoy your cheapflights and cheap service" you are inferring v australia is not professional. Airlines like Virgin blue and v australia make flying more affordable for every australian, airlines like qantas just care about the profits

  • it's good servace isnt it aus i went to LA on v austrlia there so good 12 1/2 flight but yere worth the money

  • Hey dude, ease up on V. They are recording good numbers at the moment and their service is brilliant. Also, they fly the cheapest klm/seat/passenger aircraft across the pacific, and they are all working really hard. Do yourself a favour and jump on board V, you'll never want to fly Qantas to LAX again.

  • No thanks. I will stick with QF.

  • i would stick with qantas too if i wanted to part with more money than i have too for less service

  • Can you please just move on. I already received your last reply (which I didn't reply to)

    I got over it.

I suggest you do so as well.

  • shut up

  • Qantas is awsome but there fleet is quite old, the've been having problems lately. The staff never smile AT ALL.

  • LONG LIVE QANTAS

  • whats wrong with competition? if you dont want to fly VA and experiance a better service at a fraction of the cost, then so be it:) besides competition is good in any industry, it ensures that companies are continually evolving their product and keeping fares as low as possible in order to get the edge on the competition

and if there is one thing the virgin group does well, its evolving to satisfy customer wants

  • Competition is great.

    I just prefer Qantas.

It worries me that people are so hung up on 'cheap' fares.

I would rather pay a premium and know I am in great hands. That's just me.

    If you prefer Virgin...enjoy.

  • fair points, v australia is cheap aswell as providing an identical (if not better) service to qantas's

really, it all comes down to wether or not you like the flair of virgin or the formality of qantas:) for me, im a virgin:P

  • I agree.

If you fly Virgin long haul let me know how you go.

    cheers

  • will do:)
