Hey Warren, awesome video as usual. I just have a quick question (or so I hope). I'm still having a hard time with the rhythm of the part that plays after "let this all wash over me" Are you strumming muted downstrokes on the 1, 2, 3, and 4? Is the chord itself ever played during a downbeat?
@metalhead2323 Yeah, the chord is played on 2 and 4 but it's not something you have to emphasize. The important thing is the emphasis is on the "a" and e." If you feel like you're getting too heady and not achieving it still, just listen and jam along by intuition until it sounds right.

God, I hate you! I couldn't even get past the beginning because of you leaving a whole bunch bad quality explanations. It took me 15 minutes of rewinding the video just to get the first few chords because your fragmented bullshit. if you ever see warren walking down the street make every effort to run him over.
I m italian and although I do not understand the people who speak me in English I learned from you to play this beautiful song..communication is not only verbal I esteem you.
come to italy for a while you ll be my guest so you ll teach me new songs and I'll show you my country!!
Hey Warren I just wanna say thanks for making these videos. I am a novice guitar player and there is seriously no better way to learn guitar than by having a bunch of Radiohead songs under my belt...it is educating and inspiring all at once. Thanks again, keep doin what your doin.
haha, i love the "wow wow wow" :D you're a great teacher and you make the lessons interesting and fun - the most important thing about learning. keep it up m8!
Awesome! I had to stop the video at around 16:41 last Sunday 9/22/11, because I've been trying to learn this song without a 4th string the whole time. It snapped the day before so I had to go buy a new set of strings. Thanks for the tutorial teach! You're always AWESOME!!!
You have calming effect with your way of teaching. Which is very fortunate for me considering that every new radiohead song I learn throws me into at least five fits of rage and despair. Everything works great. You are gifted, as a guitar player and as a teacher.
@linkenski Thanks for the comment. In my opinion, the way you suggest would make going back to the downbeat/primary downstrum on the G awkward. Check out Thom's acoustic performance I link to in the description, you'll notice he does what I explain as well.
sorry, did you not find it? why the confusion? it's the first time ive ever uploaded anything so i hope ive done it right. the main song statrts after about a min and a half, the beginning stuff is just me mucking about
hey there mr.... i have been learning so much from you in recent times...i wish you were my teacher...you could if you had 10 mins listen to a piece i have written....just write into youtube..... charlie o'malley mumble... and tell me what you think, it would make my year if you did, and i cant wait for your next video.... many many thanks charlie x
@charliebadger I searched what you put, and I'm confused, haha. Sorry, maybe I'm just not getting it. Anyway, I give lessons over Skype. Satisfied students all over the globe. Join the fun!
I've been playing this for a while now and still enjoy playing it because of the challenge. I thought I had it right after watching some footage of Thom playing it but I think it sounds even better after watching this. Thanks for helping me tie up the loose ends.
the force flows powerful through you my friend.
