Arthur Briggs had a brother Pete who played brass bass in Armstrong's hot seven recording.They never recorded together.Arthur moved to London in 1930 and played at Ciros Club.Love Brigg's full but rounded tone on his trumpet playing
@davidglow3 According to wikipedia it says Pete Briggs is his cousin. Also another source affirmed this; I think it was a biography about Arthur. Who knows the truth..it was so long ago, they didn't keep steady documents on particulary the African society due to the end of slavery, so they had really no reason to keep track.
Thanks for posting this great recording by Briggs band. Also this recording has a lot better sound quality than most Briggs German recordings I have heard from the 1920's. Most I have heard are from 78's in poor shape but not this one!
