@kab1r i agree with your point but you have to understand this, on the ninja gaiden sigma 2 it looks alittle similar to this dash but at least from what im looking at you can strafe from side to side and dash alittle farther, usually you'll get smacked it in the head if you dashed with certain enemies on the last NG. i like the point of your idea of virgil teleport which is great but what about to move with the tonfa's in sigma 2 where your invisible (kinda)

@massivewad QTE's are only in the TUTORIAL section of the game. After that they are removed. You can have them on if you like but you can remove them from within the options menu. This is recommended for the more hardcore gamers.  Once you get to know how the game plays u will be doing the finishing moves without the need for buttom prompts on the screen.

Why is it "cool" to play murderers? God of War had the most unlikable protagonist in gaming history, is that what they are trying to emulate?

When I play an action game I want to fight monsters, evil organizations or criminals, not execute surrendered mercenaries in cold blood after they beg for mercy. After that, any effort they put into the story is lost on me, because I won't give a shit anymore. I don't care if he's possessed during this section or whatever.

I mean, I don't mind cutscenes, they're a short break from all the action. Please, Tecmo needs to hire Itagaki back or file bankruptcy already lol.

No, I don't know that. I saw a live feed from TGS yesterday where they were playing the Japanese version of this game (Japanese writing and everything) and Ryu still had that English voice. Maybe they haven't added it yet (this is what I'm hoping) but Team Ninja chose to remove several other things that have been a part of NG games from day one (decapitations, wide variety of weapons for the story mode, weapons shops, etc) so forgive me if I'm a little worried about the JPN voice track.

So no Ninja Gaiden games before this (or Sigma 2) had "value"? I know about a million or so people who have over 1000 hours invested in all of those games respectively that would strongly disagree with you. The truth is that multiplayer was added to Ninja Gaiden because it's the "cool" thing to do, and Hayashi hopes it will attract more people that would otherwise scoff at this series (along with making it more "accessible"). It seems to be working...

My two cents, anyway.

@spideymayne I'm not saying the value isn't there, I'm saying that they want to increase the value Ninja Gaiden doesn't give you much insentive to replay it other than a few constumes which until recently have been variations of the SAME thing especially in Ninjga gaiden 2. You don't have to play the Mulitiplayer but it's still ging to be there. And not to mention most people don't play it on it's highest difficulty, challange modes are ok but how many timesto do you play those?

@Inuheishi Man, I dunno: the community for this series is pretty intense. A lot of people still play through, and upload videos the Mission Modes on NGB and NG2. Me personally, I'm addicted to this series. I still play the first two games pretty regularly -- hell, I think they're the best two action games ever made. I like multiplayer games, don't get me wrong, but I don't like good single-player games turning into MP games, if that makes sense.

but it seems that this game still lives up to its single player action. remember righting the ryu clone in NGB on MN mode? that was always fun as hell, mutiplayer mode may even give us a greater challenge :D

@Darksider087 Point being, single-player games are being slowly phased out. Classic single player franchises like Resident Evil, MGS, Phantasy Star, and now Ninja Gaiden have become MP games. The MP is probably gonna be fun-- I don't doubt that -- but do we really need a MP component for -every single game we play-? I can't even name any quality single players series that have remained single player over the years. Onimusha? I think that's it.

That could mean anything from fewer levels to less polish in the gameplay to more bugs (because now they have to test for bugs in the single-player -and- multiplayer game), to worse graphics... you get my point. My fear is that we'll get two weak games instead of one really strong one.

It's really up to the developer, and most of the time another team is hired to create the multiplayer experience. I guess the best example I could show you is Assassin's Creed, Awesome and incredibly unique story, With a strong award winning multiplayer. Nothing was cut out of single player for it, and they even made single player better. But I can see what you're scared of, Hope for the best!
