Hrm.. When I used Windows 95 I didn't have to use DOS at all really. It just broke a lot but every computer did in 1996, including OS7 or whatever it was then.
Well, actually... the history is replaying itself. Windows 95 was horror with old Windows 3.11-computers which weren't totally compatible with the latest drivers... now, it's happening again between Windows XP and Windows Vista... Rich Bill doesn't learn a thing from it, except for making money... that's why I earn two Macs and a Ubuntu...
Well Commodore went bust in 1994, but ever since then Amiga OS 3.9 was produced in about 1997, then OS 3.9 in about 2000, then OS 4.0 about 2 years ago. Another company is on the cards to buying the Amiga patents and bringing it back to its former glory, but that shall be a difficult task.
Also, a 1993 Amiga running at only 50 mhz recently won a Demo competition against PC's running at 3000 mhz. You can check it out in my favourites. Its called " TBL - Starstruck ". This demo just goes to show just how efficient the Amiga was with memory, file structure and and also of course its Awesome graphics.
Thanks for the update on the amiga's life. I have to say you've intrigued me. I'd love to get back to put my amiga to more use than just playing games, i'll never get tired of Sensible Soccer :D
Your more than welcome my friend! :) Its good to see someone else on here that has a clue about the Amiga, so thats great!. And oh yeah sensible soccer was brilliant!. Actually there is a program called WHDLoad you can get that allows you to run "every single" Amiga game from the Hard Drive !!!. Do a search on Google for " English Amiga Board ". You will get ALOT of help on there with getting an Amiga and setting one up, and you'll see me on there as Blade002. Catchya :)

I think OS 8 was out then, and neither OS 7 nor 8 was as bad as Windows.

If you look back, Macs are still shits.
They can't run great games... :((
Eg: Warcraft and Starcraft... :((
And I PLAYED with 98/XP since I was 5 yrs old... and "I still lovin'it" =))

Macs run both Warcraft and Starcraft, blizzard games are hybrid cds/dvds who contain both versions
