  • Is the map as big as it looks?

  • This map would look great if you added a fair bit of Decals / overlays and small props e.g. gutters ,vents, pipes, drains, litter and dirt. also you need more fenced of area's like rooms you can see but cant get into (e.g. meeting rooms, scientific labs, bomb construction area's and other things that would suit the map, also attempt to make stuff like mountains, hills and houses around the map so players cant look too far into the distance.

  • I am trying to make a night- level with a bunch of street lamps all over the place. But when I compile the map to bsp, and play it all the models for the lampposts and lighting fixtures show up as one of the ERROR models. Is there some obvious thing I have overlooked? Also hammer doesn't like it when I try to rotate certain props, any words of wisdom?

  • did you make the props prop_detail?

    becuz if you make a prop detail it ends up like an error if you rotate it.

    try prop_static or prop_dynamic.

  • After playtesting, what ends up happening is that snipers do get very good positions, but all of them have blind spots and alternate routes that can be exploited by other classes.

  • Most of the doors consist of a door prop_dynamic with an open/close animation and a func_door textured with tools/nodraw. A trigger_multiple opens and closes both the prop_dynamic and the func_door when players enter/leave.

  • No, you can make maps for TF2 using Hammer, in the Source SDK. You can download it for free via Steam, under the Tools section.

  • The map is currently about 12MB.

  • I haven't officially released any final version of this map, so you're probably thinking of a similar map. There should only be two different alphas of this map, and the first one was only 2-3 weeks ago and looked a lot different than this.
