"It's not just about semantics... IT'S ABOUT SEMANTICS!" ... Yeah, right. Come on! He might even have a point, but contradicting Yourself is rarely the way to present it, now is it? ;)
bs. chaplain comes from the latin CAPELLA which means CAPE. the term comes from a story about a soldier who sliced his CLOAK to give to a stranger for comfort.
I am not trying to become an "Atheist Chaplain." Everywhere I turn, people (usually the conservatives) are making this mistake.
I'm trying to become a Humanist lay leader. It's a volunteer, unpaid duty that allows me to work in an official capacity with the Chaplaincy to ensure that the needs of nontheistic service members are met without them needing to be preached to.
Hmm, could it be the atheist chaplain is encroaching on the moral high-ground of those who, heretofore, felt themselves beyond question in this realm?
What a bunch of fucking douche bags. Whining about someone wanting to be a military chaplain, while there's nothing in the definition of the word atheist that would prevent one from having a spiritual life. I don't even understand why we even have chaplains in the military. Fuck that. What we really need in the military are counselors, who are professionally trained, not Christian, Muslim, Atheist chaplains, etc.
Except the chaplaincy in general isn't supposed to be taking part in professing any particular beliefs, for instance the over a hundred different ones on offer that the guy mentions. Just allow you to talk about them with someone, as I recall. So that point is moot. And how is letting another viewpoint in somehow diminishing their professed faiths?
Weirdly, Johnathan Morris is usually far more intelligent than the hosts on Fox news, but that just says more about them than about him. For a religious person, he is reletavely progressive, but that still doesn't make him hardly ever right.

Military chaplains are unconstitutional.
Also, if Christians are supposed to love thine enemy, how can they be in the military?

@csnowutube Christians love their enemies with bullets.

I love how fox always brings this guy in by himself, never one to have someone to debate his point.
Fair and Balanced.
