  • @UberSpyJ96 Lucky bastard

  • Death doesnt seem so bad. Well. Assuming your not dead, that is.

  • 1:50 that's the thing about boiling brandy. it doesn't boil for long

  • I love Terry Pratchett's Death.

  • Guess what. you know death's scythe?

    I have it :3

I have the same prop he uses throught this movie :D

My dad use to work at Pinewood Studios where they filmed this ^_^ :D

  • Awww. They cut out the part with the naked dryads I think. :P Anyway, Lee was a great choice. I always hear his voice when I read the book now.

  • I love Death, such a nice guy.

  • RINCEWIND! DEATH!!! HAHAHA GREAT XD

  • guy on fire 1:30 hahaha

  • only wizards, witches, and cats can see death. His scythe and sword can cut through anything, he can freeze time. ride a horse named Blinky that can travel through time. and has a grand daughter Suzann.

  • @d3s3rtray Binky.

  • Haha Sir Christopher Lee have the perfect voice for death xD

  • lol dont mind me i got a book to read lols

  • I love how Death just nonchalantly walks around as if the fire weren't there, and it was perfectly natural for him to be walking around in plain view.

  • @iheartslashers Well normal people can't see him unless they're dead.

  • @lordcrapalot hes actually not invisible. they just refuse to acknowlege his existance, being they are in denial thus dont see him. however he can "insist" on being seen.

  • @kaldicuct Oh right, hehe makes sense. Who would want to see death on a normal day-to-day basis, doesn't make a good dinner guest afterall.

  • @lordcrapalot well the question was, why dont people see him. but i would like him for dinner, hes very smart. id love a conversation.

  • @iheartslashers DON'T MIND ME.

  • deth is so funny....and nice....

  • @SharkKid42 I know! I hope I meet this version of Death when I die.

  • no it has to be ian richardson

  • As good as David Jason was in the role, I can't help feeling that Rincewind ought to have been younger, like in more recent artwork of him...

  • Hehe. Y'know, I always thought of Rincewind as being younger. Oh well, I guess it doesn't matter.

  • Isnt there a film were death saves christmas or somthing?

  • @TheKatic1 not really christmas but basically you´re right.

    It´s called Hogfather.

  • love this movie but kinda wanted rincewind to be more like he was in the games i played

  • Oh My God I can't believe it, they made a movie from this ! I LOVE Twoflower

  • I love that death is so irritated that rincewind never dies ^_^

  • wait a minute, did they cut the temple part out, because i thought that's where the tourist was when rincewind was hanging from the tree.

  • @milkandholywater Yes, they edited much of the book from the movie, which is rather unfortunate. I was so looking forward to seeing Rincewind pinned to the wall by the force of a spell in... Krull, I think it was.

  • THE ONLY OTHER VOICE I COULD SEE FOR DEATH WOULD BE JAMES EARL JONES....Sorry, channeling DeathSpeak there for a second ;)

The only problem with a JEG-voiced Death is that I'd be waiting for the inevitable "NO RINCEWIND, I *AM* YOUR FATHER!" gag ;) (yes, I know D isn't RW's father, it's just the inevitable Star Wars riff...)

  • This is perfect, thank you so much i was looking for that:D The Death is the best. I love him:D Really thank you for these scenes:)

  • I haven't read the book but.. where were the golems?

  • Hmm. Christopher Lee works as Death, Jeremy Irons IS Vetinari (apart from the lisp), Sean Aston works as Twoflower, but I dont really care for that character. But David Jason as Rincewind is a bit meh for me; he's a bit too slapstick, not to mention too old. The Rincewind I always thought looked best was the illustrations on the more recent books; like The Science of Discworld ones. Skinny, late 30s, little wispy brown beard, look of constant depression on his face. Perfect :)

  • David Jason played as Albert in The Hogfather. I thought he played that role better than he did Rincewind.

  • the way twoflower is described in the book is seemed to be japanease

  • rather more chinese, the Agatean empire is more or less based on China, with a big wall around it, people do as them is told...asian anyways

  • re scripting twoflower as american was a stroke of genius, in my opinion.

  • Yeah, but it messes up the continuity really badly. America may or may not be an Empire, but were not nearly as bad as the Agatean one. :)

  • It's crazy the personality change Death goes through after the first two books. Christopher Lee was PERFECT for Death.

Death is probably the best character ever.

xD I can't imagine the traditional Grim Reaper anymore either. It always turns out to be Discworld's Death.

  • Either that or a perky goth girl here... Thanks a lot, Neil Gaiman.

  • I'm sorry, what were you saying?

  • Discworld Death is the definitive death. Either that or a perky goth girl (aka Gaiman's Death). They're both equally recognizable, but EXTREMELY different.

  • Indeed. I wonder who would win in chess.

  • Me too. Discworld Death is the definitive death as far as I'm concerned. I hope that if the Grim Reaper does exist, he is like this one.

  • You know what they did? They got 7-foot-tall Dane and recorded Chris Lee's voice. This dane would then press a button in the chin of the skull mask which would play the voice clip.

  • death is the greatest fictional character ever

  • At the german Synchro Death has the same voice like Christopher Lee in other german Synchros (Count Doku, Saruman etc)

There he sounds a little bit more friendly and naive

try it out an search for german ;)

  • lol Death is just chilling out..reading a book

  • rolf! i love death! awsome video!

  • I love it!

    Christopher Lee for the win!

  • I agree, he did an amazing job as death's voice, it suited the role perfectly!

  • at the age of 87, he is still great as before :)

  • Christopher Lee was perfect for Death as was the Grey Poupon guy

And it's the same costume from HogFather

  • BUGGER YOUR LUGGAGE!

  • I love Rincewind, but Death just really stole all of the scenes he popped up in. XD

  • what moive is this?

  • The Colour of Magic.

  • Ohhh, he says "Disappointing" in the first one. I thought he was just talking to random people and said "Yes, good morning."

...It makes a lot more sense now.

  • Yay!!! I recognize Christopher Lee voice anywhere, and I think he has the absolute best voice as Death. Richardson was good to, but I have always imagnied Death's voice to sound like Christophers :)

  • bugga ya luggage!!

  • I love Death he is so great and this video shows my favourite parts

  • death needs a book for him now lol, he never dies

  • so? I don't

  • "What about my luggage?"

    "Bugger your luggage!"

    lol

  • death is a bit nastier in these original novels ... later on he becomes quite pleasent ... in fact there are terminally ill patients who have written to pratchett saying they hope death is just like he is written in the discworld

  • I suppose he can fully simpathise with them now.

  • which makes Terry Pratchett stop what he is doing and stare at a blank wall for hours on end...

I may not be terminally ill but when I do die...I think meeting Death of Discworld would be the best way to go out.

  • @whitesentinix dude i hope after we die on round world we go to disc world.

  • @whitesentinix Damn man. Now THAT'S a way to go. I fact I DO hope Death is like this. It would be one of the coolest things the Universe could have possibly done.

  • @whitesentinix Better than going out with a bang?

  • @MRWWAYSS ah... well now I think the Mrs Palm and the Guild of Seamstresses MAY have something to say about that

  • @whitesentinix

i prefer Neil Gaiman's death like in The Sandman, she's pretty cool

  • Brilliant!

  • THANK YOU!
