  • I witnessed this this line-up. I left the show thinking they were the best band I'd ever seen it was so good. It was like Van Halen heaven. Ralph does such a good job at David Lee Roth it's beyond amazing..

  • steel panther!

  • It's the singer and guitar player from Steel Panther. Michael Starr and Satchel.

  • Steel Panther????????

  • Guy sounds just like DLR... IN THE STUDIO! DLR never sounded great live.

  • !!!! BRILLIANT !!!!

  • Thumbs up!!!

  • mike was great as roth man nice to see he has his own original stuff going with steel panther but brian there current singer cant come close to this

  • is this playback?

  • The singer looks like a combination of DLR and Sammy...ironic

  • thats bad ass

  • The best imitation of Van Halen I´ve ever seen. Awesome

  • @rabanitorockero ......Mike is the real deal!!!! Just an ass kicker...

  • Damn.. that singer should seriously join Van Halen, he's freakin awesome.

  • ive seen these guys live 4 times and they are by far the best tribute band to van halen out there no one touches these guys when it comes to van halen tunes with roth i would suggest these guys to any van halen lover

  • styrobuzz is right. Needs more bass in general.

  • Micheal Starr !!! :D First time i see this guys singing and i was wow he need to start a band and he started steel panther ^^

  • roth is back!!

  • sounds good but singer needs to do more DLR moves

  • Hell fuck shit ya !!!!

  • Nice! You come as close to duplicating what cannot be duplicated as possible.

  • Damn, That singer nails it ! Awesome job by all the members !

  • really good sound. really good

  • i sure wish someone like ralph saenz is out their for me. Look how sexy he is ;]

  • i wish DLR could do that scream today.

  • holy shit!!

  • killer

  • these guys know how it's done! killer man!

  • I'd go see them, sounds great to me! The guy has the EVH sound down.

  • I'd go see them, sounds great to me!

  • The best Van Halen cover band ever!

  • i agree myway43, this is the best Roth vocal I've ever heard done - yeah better than Roth himself - But Roth is one of a kind when it comes to personality. This guy does the vocal very similar to the original recordings - wow!!

  • Man, these guys are amazing. I clicked on this thinking it was actually Van Halen, and I was blown away. They have the band down pat.

  • Man you guys Fuckin Rock! This is incredible, Its Classic Van Halen All Over Again, Flawless!!

  • EXCELENT COVER OMG

  • Russ kicks ass

  • That dude nail Roth for sure!

  • Is that the singer from Steele panther???

  • @maxxo1o it is steel panther show

  • @kickalion

Actually, this is pre-Steel Panther. SP rules, though!

  • @maxxo1o there is satchel too

  • Isn't that the singer from Steel Panther?

  • Clicked on this by accident.

    Blown away.

  • Amazing.

  • I saw them in Hollywood around 2000. The best tribute to VH ever. They were the reason I joined two different tribute bands. I've always wanted to do entire cover catalogues. Was able to do it in a Sabbath and a Kiss tribute. I was also able to thank the boys of Atomic Punks personally when my band opened for them about 5 years later at the Galaxy in Santa Ana, CA.

  • The Tama drums don't quite fit.

  • @styrobuzz Agreed; to be close as possible to Alex Van Halen, the kit needs to be Ludwig with giant double bass drums. The drummer is Scott Patterson and also plays in a Rush tribute band "Moving Pictures" in Southern CA.

  • @styrobuzz I would agree. LUDWIG ALL THE WAY BABY!!!

  • These guys should have opened up for VH when the toured with Wolfie

    NOT that marley fuck

They could play songs that were not on the set list .

I dont think dave or eds ego would let that happen

Saw you guys at Pinkeys in Las Vegas many moons ago, dead on !

  • @schismc wrong they toured in japan in the 90's and played with black sabbath in england in 78'

  • @Luckums135 You're right about what you said. They also toured Japan in 1989 and Australia in 1998. The 2007-2008 tour may have been the USA and Canada only. I think someone asked a question regarding this tour, but I don't remember.

  • Damn, this is good.

  • Really really amazing. I used to get djs to play these tunes in little pubs in the '80's. I thought I was the only one who liked these obscure Van Halen tunes. 25 yrs later, I find out all you other people dug them too. How awesome. The Atomic Punks blow the current VH out of the water. BTW, too the guy who complained about the snare, I agree, but ALL small clubs make the snare do that. I used to do the circuit. All small rooms turn a snare into an ugly box sound. Anyhoo, Kudos to these guys.

  • fuck - how does he do those squeals!!??

  • My step-mother is buddies with the lead singer. :P

  • @guitarplayer...try again.

  • You guys nailed that song. Awesome job. Period.

  • Great cover!

  • guitarist has got it down but his hair looks like Punky Meadows

  • these guys did a good job.. wow that guy sounds more like dave than dave.. lol

  • Awesome job. I'm also a Steel Panther fan so this is a treat to see.

  • the singing! wow! this guy can do that dlr scream just right!

  • snare drum sound is a bit to much

  • I wish I could fucking see this guys play!!!

  • Comment removed

  • Who says VH is washed up. I would pay money to see these guys play.

  • Bitchin.

  • damn i should check these fellas out

i always see them in la weekly for a performance but always shrugged them off but after watching this...

  • Get a real drummer!

  • Better than the real thing......

  • I did a drum version, this is my fave song by VH!

  • 5:10 EPIC

  • Wow these guys are truly great. As authentic as can be for not being Van Halen.

  • next time Edie kicks Roth outta the band he should hire this guy. JK - Roth is a rock god. but the Punks are fucking awesome! love their shows. come back to hawaii sometime.

  • Work on the swing feel!

  • And work HARD!!!!!!

  • god these fucks kick ass. when are they ever gonna play SF ?

  • that dude sounds exactly like dave, its pretty scary actually. everyone in the band can also rly whail. im rly diggin u guys. good shit

  • That guy does Roth better than Roth does. Great job

  • I dunno... the best Van Halen cover band is that one that did the world tour a couple years ago. :p

  • Two brillant heavy as fuck songs. long live real van halen.

  • pretty fuckin dope!! right on dudes.

  • fuckin killer!

  • I go with mkno25 , they sound more than Halen than themselves. Don't look as good, though. :-)

  • HOT STUFF!

  • really good. What happend tp Ralph and the guitar player?? No longer in the band.

  • they are in steel panther

  • they are better than the real thing...very talented.

  • Saw them at The Bottle Neck Blues Bar in St. Charles Missouri a few years ago and I was just totally mesmorised. They were even more dead on that night than this night.

  • Atomic Punks, Steel panther, Metal School.

  • that there guitar work is freakin AWESOME !

  • Wow they are good and man the frontman nails it that is a Diamond Dave clone...I just don't like that drummers stlye

  • VERY VERY GOOD, and I'm a big fan of VH since the begining. What's their name and where listen to them???

  • Look and sound like old VH. Skilled, excellent, exciting performance. Makes the music sound brand new. When I heard this I went back in time. Awsome!

  • well done!!! but instead of trying to sound like van halen, make a band of ur one definetly u will rise rock o on!

  • Hate to say it, but these dudes are actually better than Van Halen

  • I agree! So it's not just me! Someone else sees that VH's live gigs suck out loud in most cases! That guy has Roth's banshee wail down better than Roth of today does! If any of you feel offended.......that's just how I see it!

  • hey doesnt any one know where i can get those evh overalls cant find them i wanna use them live when i cover a van halen song with my band

  • You may have to place an order with a seamstress who does similar custom work. First try the Atomic Punks website or Satchel's website and ask them.

  • we gotta get the evh TONE first though :(

  • This is how it's done people. Man, this is so killer it's not even funny. For cryin out loud that bastard can sing his butt off. Jeez

  • That was wicked!!, it was like i was listening to the album, that's how close these guys are to sounding like Van Halen

  • I used to go see these guys all the time. But without Russ or Ralph its not even worth it. Ralph is fucking unbelieveable! He did it better than Roth ever did. Van Halen should have picked him up,that would have put new life in Halen again.Oh well, their loss.

  • Was that D.L.R.'s long lost son?

  • these guys are ripping.

  • killer, check the audio daredevils on my space for some cool guitar music,i like these dudes.

  • Freaking AWESOME!!!!! 5 STARZ!!!

  • This singer should call Eddie & Alex to apply for a job, as Arnel Pineda nailed Steve Perry's vocals in Journey.

  • I think Ralph has contacted Van Halen multiple times. Perhaps Van Halen will release an album with David Lee Roth soon; hopefully it will contain all new material. Unfortunately, both Ralph and Russ are no longer with the Atomic Punks.

You're right about Arnel Pineda 's vocals supercharging Journey. I also felt the same way in 1997 when first hearing Ripper Owens with Judas Priest.

  • I saw The AP with Ralph and Russ a dozen times, best band ever! I saw the new line-up 2 weeks ago, and It's safe to say, I'll never see them again. The charisma is gone!!!

  • The bass player is using a pick. What a fraud! I am available....

  • Huh??! The song/bassline calls for a pick. Listen to the orignal off VH2.

  • Mike used a pick on the original recording! The bass player was just being faithful to the piece!

  • Roth is lip sinking

  • Ralph is singing.

  • I still can't believe Steel Dragon picked Mark Walhberg over Ralph. I don't want to live.

  • wow the front man is off the hook

very good band vocal from all of them sounded good together they need to work on the sound setup the lead guitar sound was too low or maybe it was the video made it sound that way?

    still good

  • great band! i am especially impressed with the singer! i didn't think anyone but DLR could do that super high-pitched scream. sadly, the original has lost the ability, but this guy has it nailed. dayum!

  • I got the luck of seeing them live and it was freaking awesome!! Best cover band ever!! Need to come back out to missouri!!

  • These guys are the shit! Wish they toured near me.

  • Singer KICKS ASS

  • Smoking!!! 10/10!!!

  • Man they nail.

Helmet hair on the Eddie guy ain't working for me though.

  • They are probably the most popular tribute band in So Cal. The guitarist was also in Rob Halfords Fight. I`ve seen them live & they are damn good. Even Roth says they are the best VH tribute

  • f'n awesome. Light Up the Sky is a killer killer song and they knocked it out the park.

  • Great job!

  • the singers the star 4 sure,

  • I wonder if Russ Parish knows EVH?

  • they fuckin rock as hell! this cant be true... so perfect and clean everything, but bass guitar player, he needs new outfit, that t-shirt doesn't fit in stage :P

    favorited and 5 STARed

  • wow these guys arnt that bad!! they cover vh pretty good

  • vocals 10/10 guitar 10/10 drums 10/10 bass 10/10....hell i give them 10/10!

  • wheres the karate kicks?

  • how in the hell make the vocalist that screams ?!!!!

    awesome!!!!!

  • Jesus Christ,if i shut my eyes and picture the boys 20 years back this is them, spot on. This band is %^$#@! is tight as hell.

  • wow! awsome! great cover guys!

  • The singer is amazing, what the hell is his name?

  • TAMA? c'mon...outta Ludwig..again?

    otherwise spot on...especially the vox.

  • OK, You're right - to be true as possible to Alex Van Halen's history, the drum kit needs to be Ludwig. The drummer here is Scott Patterson and also plays in a Rush tribute band "Moving Pictures" in Southern CA.

  • Man these guys are great.. loved the solo in Outta Love, that dude did it serious justice. Please check out my version - I don't look like Ed though, hahaha.

  • Dude you sound more like roth than roth! WTF! Absolute perfect immitation.!!! Fukin fantastic. Band is perfect!

  • OMG!!! This is best cover version I've ever heard!!! Vocals and playing are exact like studio VH. Awesome!!!

  • Where's Bart?

  • Perfect 5/5 the punks are the best barnone.

  • Best VH tribute band ever.

  • yes indeed!i wish that i could see them

  • A couple more beers and if I wasn't paying attention I would think I was hearing the real thing. Nice job!

  • The singer is great, the guitar player face is annoying.

  • best cover of DLR shreik ever.....would love a little more stage presence like the real VH excellent job.

  • Vocals = 10

    Style = 1

    Otherwise the band rocked.

  • This band KICKS ASS!!! Best VH cover band I've ever seen so far...

  • ED-DIE! ED-DIE! ED-DIE!!!!!

  • wow exact, vocals too!amazing...how does he squeal on those damn vocals!!love this song.

  • That's it's a van halen clone))

  • The best best best best... You're so so so...

    Congratulations!!!!

    A Van Halen fan.
