  • Gay! I'm telling you! that NOM guy reeks of closet glitter. Staring an homophobic organization is a great way to hide your gayness. Nice job fucker, but you ain't fooling me. That man is a Kent Haggard waiting to happen.

  • Brown spews a frothy mixture of mendacity and hypocrisy.

  • His presumption that a majority has the right to vote on the legal rights of a minority is offensive, to say the least. These homophobes, masquerading as Christians, is about as weird as it gets.

  • Same ol' song and dance from Brian. "gay marriage taught in school", Catholic charities...bla bla bla" It's all homophobic lying bullshit.

  • Why does Brian have herpes on his lips?

  • Well it's just a matter of time before marriage equality is everywhere in the US, I just hope sooner than layer :)

  • I guess life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness only applies to white straight so called christian people huh? So much for equal rights!

  • Anyone know what those scabs are on Brian's mouth? It creeps me out.

  • wait, what exactly are the "profound public consequences"?

  • @TheBgoz NOM will never say and hopes that nobody asks. They just need you to be afraid. No actual consequences necessary. Nor do they need to follow the law and show what bigots donate to their awful cause.

  • @smithbc81 anyone with half a brain would surely see their argument is illogical :S

  • @TheBgoz Unfortunately, they find and exploit many people with less than half a brain.

  • for someone who believes the public is on his side, this bigot Brown sure is defensive on his views. But we all know that there is a lot more support for gay marriage in the younger generation, ie more tolerance. Meanwhile the older generation are just getting older.

  • Ought all childless couples – of same or opposite sex – to be refused legal recognition of their marriages? This is the logical extension of the argument that gay people should be debarred from marrying since a gay couple cannot produce their own biological offspring without assistance. The baying voices of those who call for continued “protection” of “traditional” family values are, however, oddly silent on this question.

  • @beegbolt True. Besides, marriage and child rearing are separate issues. As seen by the numerous childless marriages and the unwed pregnancies. Nobody legislates their legality!

  • 1:20 Keep telling yourself that Brian. It won't be happening again.

  • NOM = KKK

  • What's funny is that polygamy IS the original concept of marriage. In fact America has already redefined what marriage is--it used to be a contract, a transfer of property. In other words: women. Marriage was a man getting as many women as he could.

  • @laserthebeam2

"you'll never win on that argument"

    interracial marriage did.

  • DOMA is disgusting along with all the bigots involed there in. Get with it AMERICA, and understand CANADA is doing just nifty with Gay marriage. It is now a NON ISSUE here. I feel sad for gay Americans that they even need to go through this absolute bigotry. pfft

  • So according to Brian Brown, black slavery and interracial marriage vs. same-sex marriage is apple vs. orange. And polygamy vs. same-sex marriage is apple vs. apple???

I honestly can't find another person that's more ignorant than him.

  • @BornTwyce4

    1 Corinthians 7:6-9

    6) Now as a concession, not a command, I say this. 7) I wish that all were as I myself am. But each has his own gift from God, one of one kind and one of another. 8) To the unmarried and the widows I say that it is good for them to remain single as I am. 9) But if they cannot exercise self-control, they should MARRY. For it is better to MARRY than to burn with passion.

  • @neenerpuss Understood and i wish you were more like me....i am straight, i accept gays as they do NOT affect me, one single iota. Please dont quote the Bible, as alot do not follow the Bible nor do they need to by any State law or National law.

POLYGAMY was once allowed by the MORMONS and in some sects still do....hypocrisy abound.

Self control on what may i ask? To make love? WOW, how horrible

  • For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son, so that who ever believeth in him shall have everlasting life.

There is no asterisk that say * EXCEPT GAY PEOPLE

  • I can't help but notice that Brian Brown seems like a bomb ready to explode. He always seems hostile yet he forces a fake smile. There are so many people suffering in this world and yet NOM chooses to waste time, energy and money creating hate. Anyone who associates with them is setting themselves up for failure and that includes politicians.

  • @LittleSonOfa You said it spot on. Brian & Maggie both look like they are about to explode. Check out the rally videos from Albany & Manhattan on Sunday, the first day of people being able to marry in NY, you will see people who were likely bussed in as part of the several fundamentalist church groups that were there. One of the speakers acknowledged the pastors who closed their churches for the day, so their congregations could attend. NOM has become ultra desperate.

  • the function of the justice dept is to defend the law or adjudicate on the vallidity of a law, not bow to the will of the people!!!!!

the judicial system is also supposed to protect the minority from the tyranny of the majority.

  • Gay marriage would be a civil one so the religous cant complain and arguing it is for procreation is silly becasue the institution started as an economic contract to share assets and people today who dont want or cant have kids are not stopped from being married so procreation today are obviously not always linked to marriage....... It's a no brainer. The real problem seems to be not gay marriage but Homosexuality in general, even though scientific consensus shows it is not an illness

  • Lol Brian Brown...what a disgusting waste of human tissue.

  • @MrORIGINS1 Since that sort of sex happens at least as often, if not moreso, with heterosexual couples ... I think your "reasoning" is somewhere between pathetic and sheer stupidity. Ya don't really seem to be too bright, Mr. O.

  • @BornTwyce4 Any religious objections you have are irrelevant because my religious beliefs differ from yours. My religious beliefs state very clearly that gay men should be allowed to marry so they can be afforded the same tortures heterosexual marriages enjoy. IE: Extreme boredom, no sex for years, the insane idea that we are naturally monogamous creatures, divorce proceedings including taking your ex for everything they own, child custody battles, spousal abuses .. etc etc.

  • @BornTwyce4 Funny that you find changing the subject typical of the marriage equality side. Brown does it every time he's asked a question. He NEVER once answers anything directly or honestly. Judge away and play the victim, while you are protesting people's marriages, fighting to allow students to bully each other, fighting to keep committed couples from being able to visit each other in the hospital and fighting millions of people's happiness. How Christian of you.

  • @BornTwyce4 I don't need an "accurate biblical response". That's not how things are decided in this country. Welcome to the USA. You need to prove actual harm to justify why gays shouldnt marry. And there isn't any. And it is not a "straw man". You people love to judge others for certain sins but ignore the parts of the bible you find inconvenient. That has everything to do with NOM and the video.

  • @smithbc81 Exactly. I live in Canada, gay marraige here?? A NON ISSUE, i mean ZERO, we dont even talk about it anymore....gays have enriched our communities, there is less crime in the gay areas and the elderly choose to live in the gay areas because it is SAFE.

What is up with America for fuck sakes! Religion, what a croc! pfft

  • @fitasafiddle123 Exactly. Although I don't think religion is a crock. A real, straight, Christian individual should not have their marriage or family threatened by who somebody else marries. It all very small minded and your marriage would have to be pretty weak to be threatened by such things.

  • @smithbc81 ... I dont see how a real straight christian would have their marriage threatened? How do you mean?

If they (christians) are married, gay marriage wont threaten them!??!!

I am saying that religion is a crock as this is how i feel about it. Anyone can choose to practice religion as long as it isnt put into legislation on behalf of me! Ya know?

  • @fitasafiddle123 Reread my comment. I am agreeing with you. If they are really straight, they WON'T have their marriage threatened. I was saying only a weak marriage is affected by who else is getting married.

And I agree that NOBODY should have religious beliefs forced on them. You, and anybody else, should be free to practice any religion or no religion. It doesn't hurt me in way. I have my beliefs, you have yours. I think we could still get along quite nicely. :)

  • @smithbc81 LMAO..ok, my bad...i see what you mean now....ooops. Yeah exactly, if they are truly straight, they wont be threatened. Simple as hell really eh?

I also dont think any church should be punished for not marrying ss couples, correct? Lots that do, and i am ok with that. I dont see why this ss marriage thing is such a big deal, at all.

I am straight, and believe me, i need to find someone and settle down, asap. I know plenty of gays who have been together for YEARS....(guilty feeling)

  • @fitasafiddle123 I agree completely. Churches can already chose who they do and don't marry. For example, the catholic church doesn't have to marry divorced people or non-catholics. That's fine. A church can do what it wants. It just can't tell everybody else what to do. If they want to marry gays, more power to them. If they don't, so be it.

No guilt on not settling down. To each his own. It'll happen when the time's right.

  • @smithbc81 exactly. Alot of the Anti Gay people i talk with, will almost always bring up "so why should our church's be sued if we dont choose to marry ss couples" arghhh, frustration:(

Yep, still looking, working hard in my life, and life is GREEEAT, so good words from you, "time is right"...kinda made my day!

    ttyl

  • @fitasafiddle123 "I dont see how a real straight christian would have their marriage threatened? How do you mean?"

Because... of course... children will learn that gay men and women exist and marry one another when in a loving, committed, monogamous relationship. That is too damaging!!! At least... too damaging to Brian Brown who believes learning about reality somehow harms children...

  • @rjs0416 "children will learn that gay men and women exist and marry one another when in a loving, committed, monogamous relationship."

Yep, gays exist and yes they have long lasting committed relationships which most homophobes think does not exist. It is pure ignorance to think gay couples do not have this.

  • @rjs0416 Btw, this DOMA crap in the US has to GO. DOMA is now the reason a San Fran couple may be forcefully separted as one of them is from Australia i believe, and he takes care of his sick partner.

MY GOD, what is wrong with the USA!? sheesh

  • @fitasafiddle123 DOMA is on its way out. It will never be upheld. It is a clear fact that it is partially unconstitutional. The repubs have thrown everything they can at it, and it is a sad defense.

  • @fitasafiddle123 In the meantime, DOMA is very sad for many families that are torn apart by its discriminatory ideas.

  • @smithbc81 , Until Christians decide that Leviticus really isn't something that belongs in a "good book", then at least that religion is a crock. The Bible has been edited over time, and there's no reason it can't continue evolving. Conservatives are even writing their own Bible to make it even more conservative.

  • @rg0057 I don't know about removing Leviticus, but I do think its time people realized the Bible has been edited and translated over time to mean what certain people have decided it should mean. It is meant to be a rich source of meaning, not a strict and literal source of rules.

  • I don't usually comment on people's weight, but I'm curious as to why Brian Brown and his coworker Maggie Gallagher as so bloated and chubby. Do they stay up all night eating out of frustration, because they're so full of rage?

  • I can't imagine what it must be like for someone to live in such blind terror of gay and lesbian couples that they feel it necessary to amend the US Constitution - arguably one of the greatest documents in human history - to codify their irrational panic. Yes, let's protect marriage from all those extra people who desperately want to enter into it *eye roll*

  • Brian Brown...looks like a nazi

  • @BornTwyce4 No selectivity? So you follow all of the laws in Leviticus? You believe in stoning your disobedient children, not eating shellfish, not wearing red and kicking your wife out of the community during her period?

  • @BornTwyce4 So god doesn't interveen in modern times with all the evils of the world, but at the time the Bible was written he didn't have a problem interveening by summoning two bears on 42 children and killing them all, because the children called Elijah a baldhead? ( 2 Kings 2:25-35) ... Sounds like a terrorist to me. How do you explain that?

  • @BornTwyce4 I refuse to argue with you. Your arrogance and reliance on a few, poorly translated verses in the bible makes you unable to have an argument with any logic, reason or proof in it. You just cling to your belief that God is a prejudiced as you. And he's not. I am ready for God to judge me. I hope you are. He generally frowns on hate, bigotry and arrogance. Some of your qualities.

  • @BornTwyce4 And since we have a separation of church and state...your religious definition can not be recognized by the state BECAUSE that would make an establishment of religion. Clearly defined in the US CONSTITUTION as a no-no!

  • Oh, and if the church has the right to pick and choose who they include in their silly games, they should not be tax exempt. No religion should be tax exempt. Its total bullshit and costs people, as well as our gov't, who do not give two shits about their well-being (they WILL survive, and thrive, with or without tax exemption) lots of money that could be put to good use doing things like rebuilding our infrastructure, paying down debt, etc.

  • Marriage should be left to the church, it shouldn't be recognized by the federal gov't. Anyone who want to 'marry' another adult should be able to do so, and recieve equal benefits under law. If you want to then go to a church and be wed in the traditional manor, and recieve a 'marriage certificate' that means nothing more than you were wed in accordance to the church's laws, you can do so.

  • Anyone like Brian Brown who can sit there and tell two other persons they are less than he is because of their sexual orientation has a lot of nerve.

  • @BornTwyce4 You ignore the parts of the bible you think are cultural and only for the Jews of the time. But you dwell on insignificant things like gays, while ignoring the themes of the Gospel. There are so many things plaguing this country in real ways that NOM and Christians ignore, all in the name of "protecting" marriage and stopping fellow citizens from sharing in it. Jesus would be addressing the poor, homeless, jobless, downtrodden, not marriage equality.

  • @BornTwyce4 Again, then let God judge me, you stay out of it. God in his divine wisdom and infinite power can stop marriage equality, if this will be the destruction of society. But it won't and He doesn't care. God generally stays out of the laws and dealings of mankind. He gave us the ability to reason and govern ourselves. And I say exercise it and stop trying to (selectively) decide what God wants for everybody else. This is not a theocracy. Deal with it.

  • @MrORIGINS1 Total closet case here.

  • I hate to be rude, but Brian Brown is a blundering idiot. He constantly interrupted Lewis and gave half-baked statements as his "evidence." LGBT people can raise great families.

Worst of all, however, was his comparison of polygamy to same-sex marriage. Being married to more that one person makes it hard for spouses to trust and care for one another.

On that note, I hope that Brian Brown and NOM will fall. Their hatred and lies are no match for love and logic.

  • @MrORIGINS1 God can judge me. You and "the people" don't have that right. If God hated gays, why'd he make so many of them? Does he like to play pranks or something? God doesn't hate gays and neither should you. Nor should you be judging people. Your ignorance is astonishing.

  • @BornTwyce4 Ha. That's laughable. Morality has evolved for centuries. You think our society is the same now as it was 100 years ago? (women having no real rights was "moral") 200 years ago? (owning people was "moral") 1000 years ago? (1 man could tell the whole world what to do, killing people of different faiths was "moral") Morality is fluid. Cultures determine what they find moral and what they don't. Christians forcing their beliefs on others is immoral.

  • Apples are oranges are still fucking fruit it's the same thing and if people voted it would be biased people who opposed it strongly and people who are for it strongly would vot....e what about the people who are for it it but don't really care? I doubt they will vote

  • I typed gay

  • Comments like MrOrigins reveal his deeply psychological sexual fantasies about being 'done' by a man. I study this stuff and hetro men who are fully hetro just shrug off homosexuality as part of life. It's when so-called 'hetros' get into the: 'ripping anus with a penis' nitty-gritty details that u can be sure when he's alone with himself those deep dark wishful forbidden gay desires come bubbling to the surface. Marcus Bachman, Rekers...The more homophobic the more self-loathing gay he is...

  • Brian needs to change that old broken record. Blah, blah, blah.

  • @BornTwyce4 Oh, but it does. The Bible is very much in favor of slavery and lays down tons of rules about the buying/selling prices of human bondage, how to drive spikes through your slave's ear to mark him, how to trick a temporary slave into permanent slavery by getting a woman to seduce him, how can you beat him only up unti the point it takes him a day to DIE. And now we have SECULAR MORALITY that says SLAVERY IS WRONG. Morals change, and usually for the better.

  • why do they always say protecting marriage, marriage can come in dif forms

  • @alexst99 Cause they like to lie and pretend they are fighting FOR something when they are actually fighting AGAINST a specific people group's rights. It sounds so much nicer to try and claim you are "protecting" marriage, not crapping on the constitution and hurting many families and marriages.

  • Everyone just needs to vote.

  • @BornTwyce4 Change happens, deal with it.

  • No, the Catholic Charities were NOT forced out, they weren't willing to follow the law, and good riddance to them, they can't do charity blackmail anymore.

  • How does hating gay people protect your marriage?

  • @videoguy604 Exactly. It should have no effect on your marriage. Thank you!!

  • Roberts' gotcha about blacks and women at 6:08 ish is just fantastic

  • NOM will go down in the history books in the same place as the KKK.

  • @MrORIGINS1

    I smell a troll.

  • See, the people of NOM are all argumentative and interruption listeners. they will only listen to enough to fuel their own arguments. See how Brian Brown tries and talk over the other two because he's trying so hard to convert them. Then you ask them a homosexuals were raised heteros and they completely change up the subject. There is no convincing these narrow-minded people.

  • @BornTwyce4 Men can play a game with a ball and hoops and its called basketball. Women can play a game with a ball and hoops and its called basketball...and men and women can play a game together and its called basketball. The same with marriage...the action is not defined by the participants.

  • This is as much about womens equality as it is for sexual orientation.

    Example:

If a single man marries a single woman it is a marriage of equals.

That would also mean because the man and the woman are equal that a man and a man or a woman and woman are a marriage of equals too.

Unless a man and a woman are not equal to begin with????

If womens rights movement wants equality...they need to be able to do everything a man does...and that includes being able to marry a woamn.

  • @neenerpuss Exactly! They want people to believe that gays are trying to erase the fact that men and women are different. Gays aren't trying to say the genders are the same, but they are equal! So a wife and a wife are not the same as a husband and a wife, but they should be treated equally because they are equals, not because they are the same.

  • Thomas has clearly been hanging out with Ed Schultz. He's growing bolder in his interviews. Good to see

  • Apparently the majority of American's don't agree: There are 104 million unmarried Americans over age 18, representing over 45% of the adult population. - U.S. Census Bureau, 2008. Unmarried Americans head more than 51 million households. - U.S. Census Bureau,2007. [And] in 2005, unmarried households became the majority of all U.S. households. - U.S. Census Bureau, 2005. So much for marriage being such a great American value!

  • 6:02

Sorry Brian Brown, the current situation involving homosexual Americans and marriage is EXACTLY the same as the suffrage movement and the 1960's Civil Rights movement. You're just a prejudicial, obsolete echo from the past...an embarrassing fart on the wind that's time is up and would best be forgotten. The American people do not agree with you Brian Brown...they're embarrassed by you.

  • @TheGunpowderTreason The movements aren't exactly the same. But analogies to similar situations the past can surely be used to talk about what is happening know. That's why we learn history. The constitution states that all people have certain rights and, just because somebody is a minority, those rights are not up for a vote of the people. Not if you're black, not if you're Christian, not if you're muslim, and not if you're gay. That's how the situations are similar Bryan Brown.

  • @laserthebeam2 Which is why we have to realize that all bigotry should be reviled. Realistically, it won't happen, but it's a nice thought. In the meantime, we'll have to use the courts and the U.S. Constitution to overturn votes which are deemed unconstitutional while educating the public about the issue. It may not happen right away (it may take a while), but, eventually, there will be marriage equality.

  • Brown looked like crap in this, no? Wonder if all of that nastiness is catching up to'im.

  • @breakingthisdown WHEN has Brian Brown NOT looked like crap? To me he always looks like he needs a shower. Seriously.

  • @LifterwiII *shrug* Hey, I think the guy's a MEGA-scumbag but haven't noticed him always looking like crap. Maybe I've missed those times. This one, though.... Damn. Especially that first look at him.

  • @breakingthisdown I guess I just havent ever seen Brian when he looked even CLEAN or showered, let alone like anything but a SCUMbag (great term). His lips in that first one look like he either hadn't cleaned up after lunch, or he might have some sort of scabby disease on his mouth. Honestly, I don't know.

  • Can the people of NOM ever speak a complete truth? The fact that they get caught in lies and half-truths over and over again is embarrassing and pathetic.

  • The fact that NOM exists is sad. The fact that Brian Brown gets media attention is terrible. The fact that Maggie Gallagher runs a well-financed hate group is truly tragic.

  • @Rexcetera All great points.

  • Catholic adoption agencies had a choice of losing their public funding and continuing bigotry, continue receiving public funding and allowing same-sex couples to adopt. Or, they could close their doors. They obviously decided to close their doors, so NOM is telling half-truths at best.

  • @BornTwyce4 it's not "gay marriage", it's MARRIAGE EQUALITY!

in case the concept escapes you, the key word is EQUALITY, obviously a right guaranteed by the Constitution of the United States of America you're against!

it's just disgusting how you intolerant bigots use the bible as your license to hate & how you degrade religion with that hate.

remember, the U.S. Constitution will always trump your bible where equality is concerned, like it or not!

your bigotry CAN NOT, nor will it be tolerated!

  • Catholic Charities can do what they want, Just don't take tax money.

  • I love hearing them scream and grasp to any kind of logical fallacy they can think of. They are all slowly dying inside. Keep fighting guys! Equality for all!

  • "federal constitution amendment defining marriage as between a man and a woman" OK so one of their big arguments against marriage equality is that it 'redefines marriage' when it seems that they actually want to REDEFINE marriage as it currently stands so that it will be the definition that they want. What hypocrites!

  • The majority cannot vote on the civil rights of the minority. If civil rights can be denied to one group, they can be denied to others as well.

  • The statement that religious organizations have been punished by the states is a lie. Catholic Charities CHOSE to close their adoption services in Massachusetts rather than comply with state law. If they had stayed open they would still receive funding from donations, other organizations, and the Catholic Church itself. They just wouldn't receive funds from the state.

  • @mrquiet2009 good for you. what you said is exactly what i said in my post.

what gets me over & over again is the fact that these right wing "christian"conservatives always lie to make nebulous points. these "christians" never have truth on their side, never will.

they preach the teachings of their "christ" but in fact never practice what the true Christ taught, nor have they EVER followed the spirit of the true Christ!

they are the the #1 example of how real liars operate!

  • @wntoply6 Amen! They use their beliefs to support their bigotries, which is completely against what Jesus Christ taught. And it is truly sad and disturbing that they don't recognize and/or willingly ignore that fact.

  • Gay marriage isn't hurting traditional marriage divorce is. If they really cared about about marriage they would take those numbers seriously and start fighting divorce. They care about gay people, and by care, they want us marginalized and discriminated against, in the name of God.

  • Not only is Brian Brown a "truly vile piece of shit" with his opinions, he looks like one in this video. I feel like I have to wipe the greasy crap off of my screen after seeing his face. Keep going, Brian!

  • the catholic church in massachusetts WAS NOT forced out of the adoption business!

they decided on their own to get out cause the state would not subsidize their discrimination.

the state isn't by law, in the business of discrimination & wouldn't tolerate public funds being used by the catholic church to do just that!

cause the catholic church would not fund their discrimination policies on their own, they decided to screw the children.

so much for catholic pedophiles caring for children again!

  • The true and honest answer to the divorce question is this: Too many of their supporters are divorced and they cannot risk alienating them. They would lose power if they did. So, better to have divorcees focus on things that don't concern them then on their own problems.

  • Good God, Brown sings the tired old song "redefine marriage...blah, blah, blah...."

    Excuse me while I puke.

  • @BornTwyce4 Marriage has constantly evolved over the centuries. If you don't think the government has anything to do with the "definition" of marriage. Maybe it shouldn't bring with it 1000+ legal protections from the government. Gays want equal rights to love who they want, live their lives with that person and share everything with them. You NOMers are the perverse ones, obsessing over who is sleeping with who and spending time and money to fight it. The USA is not a theocracy.

  • BTW: Brian, polygamy IS in the Bible. I would have thought, based on religious grounds, its legalization would be rather easy, no? ;-)

  • Brian: do Catholic charities receive public money? Then they should not be allowed to discriminate. Putting kids up for adoption is not a "religious right" but a privilege granted by the state. Stop your ridiculous hateful rhetoric.

  • “Religious justifications for anti-gay bigotry aren’t valid anymore, and we have to learn to ignore what the Bible says about homosexuality in the same way we’ve learned to ignore what the Bible says about women and what the Bible says about slavery and lobster and everything else the Bible got wrong.” ~ Dan Savage

  • @BornTwyce4

I think all gay couples care about is federal protections of their unions, not a marriage license. The federal government should treat all unions as civil unions and marriages should stay in churches.

  • @MN55405 try to remember, marriage is a civil right, not a religious rite in this country.

no one can take advantage of the civil privileges granted by local, state & federal governments unless that marriage is registered in a local governmental municipality...not in a church! it's a fact!

if a marriage is not registered in a local municipality, IT IS NOT A LEGAL MARRIAGE, no matter what you, a church or religion says!

please remember that in your arguments, it'll give you some credibility

  • to Brian Brown: I hope you and your ilk die very slow painful deaths. And soon. Have a nice day!

  • @richstpete I understand the anger but a statement like that doesn't really help our cause. I've been fucking pissed off at these bastards, but the best way to defeat them is with facts. They're losing the war and they know it. And every time they speak, they make it easier for us to win.

  • @richstpete a friend of mine put it this way: "may he reap his just rewards, and may he reap them soon"!

i think that says it as kindly and as precisely as possible without the judgement he so richly deserves.

  • God what a fucking scumbag. When these NOM supporters hear that the majority of US citizens now support marriage equality, now they just say thats not true (which it is, polls in all 50 states collectively show that 52% of Americans support marriage equality)

  • Brown came right out of the gate repeating that lie about Catholic Charities ending their adoption services because of SSM. Not true. Wish the interviewer had called Brown on it.

  • @dkj63tube Yeah. I like that he said they were "practically" forced out. Because they chose to bow out rather than treat gay people equally. That is not being forced out, that was their decision.

  • @smithbc81 And more importantly, it wasn't a SSM issue. Catholic Charities violated the state's anti-discrimination law. Had nothing to do with SSM.

  • @equalityamerica What the fuck would YOU know about either truth OR facts? You're still an asshole.

  • Pawlenty and Bachmann make me sick. Can't believe they have represented the people of Minnesota. DOWN WITH HATE. MARRIAGE EQUALITY FOR ALL!

  • Why do we give a platform to anti-gay hate? Why do we give any amount of attention to cute anti-gay pledges that have no chance of being push forth anyways?

  • As much as I support gay marriage, Roberts was being an ass hole to Brown.

  • @myersjacob Brown is an a-hole. Roberts just wasn't giving in to the same old lies Brown rolls out and over most interviewers.

  • @smithbc81 Look at it from Brown's perspective. It shouldn't be difficult. Have you ever watched an interview on Fox News? They interrupt and talk over anyone who doesn't completely agree with their point of view. Whenever they have someone on who supports anything vaguely liberal they completely shut that person down. Roberts doing the exact same thing. It's not okay with me. Doing that makes them no better than any of the people on Fox News. Do you really want to stoop that low?

  • @myersjacob I don't want to stoop. I am just happy to see a journalist and interviewer finally ask Bryan some tough questions. Brown never answers question, talks in circles and occasionally talks over the other guy. Most journalists just sit back and let people like Brown spout their lies and hate, then let their "fair and balanced" other guest talk for awhile. Its about time people didn't let his bigotry just slide by. We don't need to give bigotry a voice.

  • @smithbc81 Whether or not he was speaking in circles, spouting hate, or evading the questions is irrelevant to the point I'm trying to make. All I'm trying to say is that Roberts' constant interruption makes him no better than Fox News. Now that certainly doesn't make Brown any less of a bigoted ass himself, but my point still stands. I think we need to be the bigger people in this situation and not drop to the tactics of the Big News Corp.

  • Well, if Former Republican Senator RICK SANTORUM is onboard with a bill or movement...it's a good indication to RUN ! ! !

  • Can Brian Brown say ANYTHING intelligent or TRUTHFUL!?!

  • The very equal civil rights of all Americans should never be subject to public opinion polls. That's why we have the US Constitution and a Bill of Rights.

The Christian Dark Ages are coming to an end, slowly but surely. We WILL break free of the theocratic shackles of the 16th Century and we WILL make a move towards civilization.

  • If Brian Brown is the best spokesperson they have, they will continue to fail. He's smug, rude, ignorant and just repeats the same false arguments over and over again.

  • @SeparateisntEqual He and Mags love to lie lie lie. And they hate to address questions, just lie and answer with unrelated talking points. Talk about apple and oranges.

  • As usual, you can't make a case against gay marriage without talking about THE CHILDREN and weeping about adoption and how much of a travesty it is to "redefine" marriage.

I hate how all the people against gay marriage always bring up the danger of "redefining" this "sacred institution" that has been the "cornerstone of society", without properly explaining the repercussions, which I would assume due to their failure to elaborate, is well, NOTHING.

Brian Brown doesn't have a leg to stand on.

  • I'm so proud of Thomas! He's from my state :)

  • Instead of focusing on bashing marriage for gays, Brian Brown needs to do something about that herpes on his lips.

  • The Catholic Church was not forced to stop adoptions. They chose bigotry over serving the needy in their community.

  • There are profound consequences when marriage is redefined. Marriage was redefined with allowing blacks to marry and banning the sale of children into marriages, were huge changes in the 1800’s.

Removing the master laws from marriage, and allowing mixed races to marry were also huge changes to marriage.

The consequences were positive, just as allowing gays to marry will be positive.

  • @Blairtim69 Yup, but they would have been against those redefinitons too. They would have kept women as property of their husbands. Kept interracial marriages illegal. Kept child brides legal. They are bigots and will fight against anybody's rights as long as they can raise money and pay their fat salaries with the fear they create.

  • @equalityamerica Oh, spare us, asshole.

  • Brian didn't answer the question: Why did you not include anything in the pledge about divorce? Typical of NOM: don't answer the questions, deflect, just state the same old talking points.

Another lie: You don't have the right to redefine marriage. We are given that right in the First Amendment to the Constitution.

  • @sammyseattle It doesn't say anything about divorce because Christian Pledges are about denying equal rights to OTHERS.

  • @sammyseattle Bryan's favorite lie on why they don't address divorce: "Maggie Gallager has written and spoken a lot about protecting marriage." Only she never talks about divorce, or any of the multitude of things threatening marriage. Just the scary gays, whose marriages have no effect on other people's families or marriages.

  • @smithbc81 Maggie's very own interracial marriage would have only been approved by popular vote in 1996.

Loving V. Virginia was ruled in 1967....but public opinion would not have given their approval until1996.

Almost 30 years after the court ruling.

  • @neenerpuss Exactly. Its not exactly the same thing, "apples and oranges" apparently, but it is a good example of how "the people" don't have a right to vote on other people's rights. I shouldn't have my life put up to a vote. I, like everybody else, have certain unalienable rights. Not determined by an unconstitutional vote "of the people".

  • Brian Brown is a scumbag. Maggie Gallagher is really Deloris Umbridge and their NOM is really a front group for the LDS and the VATICAN.

  • @mykelb She and Brian would have the dark mark of Volemort if we could examine their forearms. They are pure evil. Sad that so many Christians are taken in by their lies.

  • @equalityamerica shut the fuck up you lying troll

  • Brian Brown is a truly vile piece of shit.

  • not surprised Bachmann signed because shes so out of touch with mainstream America..Santorum is and always has been a joke..i just laugh whenever he speaks..Romney will just sell out his principles any way he thinks will be beneficial to him..im 23 gay and proud and their rights are no greater than mine and the thing that is a bit scary is that they pander to these fringe followers and fire them up..they would have been on the school steps in the 60s saying blacks cannot come here i guarantee..

  • So, with social evolution happening, our society cannot redefine marriage?

Weird... Article 1 of the US Constitution once defined black people as 3/5 of a person.

The 13 and 14 admendments 'redefined' African Americans.

Was that expansion of rights also wrong?

  • He's telling me that 1% of America is going to ruin marriage? Like Thomas said, what about the HETEROSEXUALS getting DIVORCED? Aren't there more heterosexual divorces than gay marriages..??

  • SNOOZE FEST!!! John, please step up your game if you're going to represent us on Televised debate. Id prefer to see Brian Brown getting ripped a new one ANY DAY!!!

  • @DJAbeClements If you wanna see Brian Brown getting ripped a new asshole on tv, then we should send people who don't run organizations whose sole purpose is to get same sex marriage recognized. I've always found those groups were run by boring non-argumentative wimps.

Therefore, I nominate myself to go on tv and rip all those assholes from opposing groups an even larger asshole that manages to act as a self contained black hole. Lemme at 'em! I'll make them shit their pants live on tv!

  • @snipzor you have my vote then :-) one of my favorites is Al Sharpton vs Brian Brown.

One thing that is pretty funny about Brian Bigot Brown is that his facial expressions really share his thoughts/emotions. When he gets flustered (or starts "losing" the debate), he starts blinking rapidly... and he also starts saying words out of the side of his mouth (it sounds weird... but his lips literally start slanting towards the right) lol

  • Brian is a thick-necked dick.

  • This does mean that when GOProud and the Log Cabin Club endorse Mit Romney we can tell them to go fuck themselves.

  • @MaryJesusJoseph It's more of a dilemma for the Log Cabin Republicans because they actually endorse marriage equality and gay rights... GOProud don't really give a fuck about the common gay person, they just want their rich asses protected

  • @PolytheisticDeities I will agree that the LCR have actually done some good work lately with DADT, but they still endorse anti-gay nominees from time to time. GOProud is just a joke--I don't think they even take themselves seriously.
