  • Beautiful and noble lady. Pity more people can't see it.

We would do well to re-evaluate our concepts.

  • Most ppl think geissha means prostitutes. Well, prostitutes give u crappy COMPANY and this is where geishas excel. They just keep u entertained and u feel content just being in their company.

  • wait, why is she famous? o.o is it because she was the oldest woman or the greatest dancer at something?

  • dude if I saw that women bow in front of me i would have a heart attack >.> don't bow please don't die

  • i wonder if she's still alive because this was in 2007 now its 2011 she's 102 now (if she's alive ).

  • @curacaolov34ever I'm wondering that as well. Amazing if she still is though.

  • she takes the cock real well

  • n'awww, she's sooo cute!

  • oh god.. she referred to herself with "atashi" >_>

  • @TheInvshika so? it's just a female term meaning I.... what's your prob? <_<

  • @indigopocky "Atashi" is typically used by young and/or immature girls >_>

  • @TheInvshika that may be true for the majority, but its really just meant to sound sweeter and she's a geisha and sweetness is part of her job so it makes sense <_<

  • @TheInvshika She's 98, she's earned the right to call herself whatever she wants. Are you going to pick at her walking style as she doesn't move gracefully due to her age, too?

  • She is one amazing woman to keep up with her art. I wish i could meet her now XD

  • her heath at 98 years old in incredible, look how quickly she still walks around! she gets around better than some 30 year olds i know XD

  • Is Kokin still alive?

I tried searching about her but couldn't find anything. :\

  • IT'S LIKE SAYING I'M A MUSICIAN 'TILL I DIE

  • wow.. 98 year old virgin

  • @thanhdzax lol

  • i know that woman she helped train the women actresses in the movie Memoirs of a Geisha

  • @JaliscoGringa

She didn't at all, where did you got that information?

  • @contortionist104 i watched the fucking documentary and training, making of the movie...talk what you know

  • @JaliscoGringa

It was Liza Dalby who helped them, not her, she doesn't even speak english!

  • @JaliscoGringa

Then you haven't watched it correctly i guess, this woman doesn't speak english, Liza Dalby does.

  • lol gmilf

  • I hope all the people who confuse geisha with prostitutes will see this. "Gei" means arts and "sha" means practioner--so the word geisha means "artist."

  • Next month,on September 24th she will turn to 102,if she's still alive(but I guess it is).

This was a real dedication or she tried to hide her feeling (the one she loved was sent in Sumatra and never come back, that's what she said in an interview.)

Anyway, this is more then amazing. Now girls quit at 22 or 25 years,or even earlier.

  • I wanna see her dance.

  • wow, shes a 100 now. i dont think shes passed away.

japanese people are weal known for their health and for the oldest living people in the world.

  • The Japanese ageing system is different because they go on being 1 year old at birth. How confusing??

  • well...this practice is quite common in China and Korea, you know...in the past, children are hard to raise, many died in infancy,so~asuming babies are one year old once born is like comforting yourself that at leastthe baby surive a year.Japan still have celebration when boys and girls turn 5 or 7~

  • @reidb18

its because they consider the term in the mother's stomach to be a full one years so at birth, you're considerd to be one years old.

  • @bluexxfire That's the Chinese system, not the Japanese.

  • @underthesign1

Actually both countrys used to have that system. While China still maintains it now, Japan has passed laws both in 1902 and 1950 to Westernize it. But among Japan's older generation, it's still in use.

  • @bluexxfire I grew up in Japan in the 60's and 70's; even old-timers didn't use the system then and they certainly don't now.

  • @underthesign1

huh that's weird. I spent a part of my childhood in Japan and I remember meeting some people with that system going on. Maybe they were of Chinese decent.

  • @KagomeHigurashi

Good food, and good diet probably. :)

Fish is actually really good for the health

and so is a balanced meal (something i can never master)

  • whoa, she has so much spunk! i want to be like that when i'm 98 =)

  • This lady is amazing. My American Grandmother is turning 70 in October and she can barely get around and has a number of health problems. ON the other hand, my German Grandmother (Oma) is turning 75 in May and she runs round like she's 30! Goes to show that Americans don't know how to take care of themselves.

  • It's not 100% about age, it also has to do with your mentality. I'm 25 and much to my dismay I get accused of being a teenager sometimes. And sometimes I do feel like a teenager, but other times I feel old.

  • "Tokyo suburb of Atami" is pushing it a bit. Atami is a sea-side resort about a hundred kilometers from Tokyo. It's easily reachable, especially as some shinkansen stop there, but calling it a suburb is a bit much.

  • gotta be like the japanese... eat healthy and stay healthy. my greatgrandmother past away 10 years ago, at the aged of 98.. but she is unable to walk and senile. Good thing that this lady can still walk and talk.

  • my great grandmother past away 5 years ago at the age of 112. she died in a car crash on the way to work. she was a bank clerk.

  • Are you for real?

  • no joke, she always said she was to stubborn to die of old age. lol

  • woah she is now 100 yrs old! Is she still alive?

  • i know right im dying to know too!

  • This is what I got after a little bit of internet research:

    - There is a book about her on Amazon (in japanese) called "小金さん―熱海百年芸者物語" "Kokin-san, the story of the hundred year old geisha of Atami" published last year.

    - She retired in september 2008, at 100 years old.

I didn't see anything indicated the contrary, so we can hope she is still alive.

  • @bakachan0909 Japanese Are Known For Having A Long Life-Span

  • @x0xSarah820 - It's because they eat good meshi!

  • I have nothing but respect for her , she worked hard ... keep doing what you do !!!

  • in this september, she'll turn 100!

  • I have nothing but admiration for her!

  • When does she turn 100? I heard she turned 99 last year.

  • She is trying to keep the girls up to the standard. It is hard because so much has changed....

  • She's still working on her craft at 98. Now that's what I call dedication.

  • 230 left??!?! :(((

  • Wow, we should all be so healthy and happy!

  • Wow, talk about a true expert in her art! I can think of no sharper skills than those of someone who has had decades to practice them!

  • peace

  • good on the old ghasha Id, say I would love never to be ill lucky person. maybe dream that I won't be one day

  • my great grandma was 98 when she died.

  • wow.. she lived a good life then =)

  • That's amazing......

  • Thats insane!, I hope she gose forever!

  • amazing

  • lovely jubbly!!!!!!!!!!
