  • This is heartbreaking

  • It all depend on where you live. If you live in the rural area or live in the house with the backyard, you can either grow a garden or hunt. You cannot do that in the apartment in the city.

  • Why don't these poor families with children go to local soup kitchens? The food there is free.

  • @GaunletofDestruction Most of the time they do, the girl says in the video that they take food from a church. Soup kitchens and food banks only provide so much and are inconsistent with how much food you can receive from them and when. It's not an institution that has a bottomless pit of food where you can take as much as you want whenever you want.

  • man, these people must really be in hard times......I mean, there are alot of foods that are cheap......spagetti, rice, etc that will fillyou up (even if they don't have much nutritional value). I gotta wonder though.....if their parents were living way too high before the recession nad not saving a cent.....and......why can't these people get on food stamps?

  • @inkey2

What if they are deny food stamp because they are making too much money.

  • @Mrbrianjohnson951 that happens....a friend of mine who lives in texas is in the same situation you brought up. They have two kids......the wife has a fairly good job but my friend lost his job and has been "5 years" unemployed. They are just barely making it and running up the credit cards. They make just a little bit too much to qualify for food stamps. That being said....they were living too high before he lost his job.....never wanted to save a cent

  • @inkey2

The problem with the system is that the rule get into the way of succeeding or helping us out.

  • @inkey2 Well, on the contrary, there are millions of families who HAVE been saving and NOT blowing off majority of there money on non-necessity possessions since around the beginning of the recession. They stretched their pennies as far as they could. I don't think receiving food stamps will begin to cover a solution to helping them get back on their feet with a roof over their heads like they would desire. -therefore, it is not one. Also, I do see your point too inkey2:)

  • @Trinitypeep Not that there are not legit poor people who fell on bad times but I see a lot of people crying poor buying 6 dollar cups of coffee, wearing designer label clothes. My dad lived through the great depression and he taught me that when times are good, thats when you have to save the most, live like you have no money all the time...then when the enevitable hard times come you'll have something to fall back on

  • @inkey2 I got, that. I believe in saving too.
