  • i like it...what engine?

  • Depends on what model you take. You have single seaters and duo seaters. I would advise you to go see the comparison table at the Pou Guide site. There are all the data on a single file.

  • is a citroen 2cv engine good for a flea??

  • My HM14/360 had a Citroen Visa engine. If I recall it right, that is the same engine as the 2CV. The engine made it possible to take off from concrete, but was not able to get the airplane airborne from grassfields.

  • ok, thanks, do you need to modify it in any way?

  • I guess most would make the flywheel lighter. The prop is also a kind of flywheel. But ... I cannot tell more about engines. No expert!

  • No need to worry. Kapui123 is a guy we know. He tries to give the Flying Flea a bad name because he was not able to start a firm making Flying Fleas. Till now I will not give his true name as he was once a good contact of me. Sadly ...he totally turned towards hating Flying Fleas when he couldn't start his firm. Read all the comments and you will see that he has the only bad comment. And he was talking ... euh ... bullshit. No reality.

  • I'll have to read up on the Flea. They're really fascinating little aircraft. I'm trying to wrap my mind around how they can be stable in turns sans ailerons without a lot of dihedral, or have scary stall tendencies without a lot of tip washout, but seeing is believing.. They fly, and they're pretty cool. Thank you, John

  • John, if you like to read about the Flying Flea, why not go to my site? the link is my nickname here with dot net (youtube does not allow links in comments). Click on the red airplane on the right and you will find a lot of pages with of info about the design, construction, available models, contactpersons , pictures and links to more good stuff.

Enjoy and ... spread the word

  • The Flying Flea aircraft. The truth is there is a cover up and always has been. The Flea fanatics just hid it. Don't waste your money even thinking of building this aeroplane.

  • Hallo Kapui, you seem to try to give the Flying Flea a bad reputation. Say it in the open and make youself known by real name. I am Koen Van de Kerckhove from Belgium near Antwerp. And I am 100% sure I try to be as close to the thruth as possible. Who are you and what is your experience in homebuilts?

  • Seems that kapui123 closed his account on youtube. Sad. this was again a perfect example of what bad talk we need to endure as Flying Flea fans.

  • Seems that kapui123 closed his Youtube account. This was again a good example of the bad stuff we need to endure as Flying Flea fans. For REAL info about Flying Fleas by a professional designer, go see fraseraerotechnologycompanyDOTcom

  • The Flying Flea is one of the most expensive ultralights to build in the world. Two very complexed wings to build. Complexed metal work. Very expensive fabric and a $7000 engine. But what do you get. An aeroplane that fly's at one speed with a Centre of Gravity range of 61 m.m. Where are the proven construction plans that contain, control stops, Centre of gravity range, VNE speeds, flight testing data and wing stress anaylis. Why can't the Flea be built in England?

  • Dunno what world you're living in, Kapui, but it's more like $1500-$2k all told. Ya don't need a $7k powerplant for them.

  • I totally do not agree with you. The only complex parts are the hinges of the wings. When compared to a non-folding system it is complex, but ... it are just a few welds. Nothing more! Euh ... I don't know where you get the idea that the price is high. Where did you buy your materials?

  • Not certain who you are but I am Kirk Sutton and have flown several pous and agree with Gykin and Koen that you are off track. I'll leave the costs and build difficulties and focus on the flight characteristics. The Pous do not have a 61mm CofG range each is different. I have SAFELY flown a very small HM290 over a much greater range AND flown it through a flight test regime and they are certainly not limited to one speed. So please - who are you and oin what basis are your claims based?

  • Great video.Henri Mignet is one of my heroes, I want to build a flea and learn how to fly before I die.

    PS. Meatloaf ain't bad either.
