Awesome. I am not at all prepared for a disaster, this video is inspirational & informative. Can u give me a rough estimate of how much this bag cost to put together? Actual bag and all.
@ralbala I'm glad you enjoyed it! The bag was the most expensive part ($90-100). The contents were less than $100. I was able to reuse items that we already had.
@theurbanprepper I also have small children. I make my own baby food but store bought works just as well. I have a food dehydrator and vacuum sealer. I dehydrate baby food and seal it for my EDC and BOB. It's lighter, won't break and I always know what they are getting is good for them. Just add boiling water to rehydrate.
@kathrynjustice05 We used to make our own baby food too, but we never dehydrated it. That sounds great though! Right now, Baby Prepper doesn't like eating baby food anymore. He wants to be one of the "big boys".
I would just add more of the pouches of food, you can also strain the food out with a napkin/bandanna for liquid and feed him the food. Those are great food pouches/brands and I would just add more of them as well as some powdered milk or dediasure for drinking. If you are bugging out, he will need to eat at least twice a day. I would have food for 10 days min. and clothes for two days. Cloth diapers are cool but you'll need water to wash them and that could be water you'll need to drink.
Being a stay at home dad and a person who believes in being prepared, I can see the need for the babies own bag. However, some of the things you have may be a waste if you are really bugging out. I would rather have items that he would really need rather than nail files and trimmers. Baby food, wipes, diapers would be highest priority for me at least. This looks like a weekend get a way bag for the Hilton rather than a bag for real bug out situation. Not to put down your bag, this is good.
@T2U2 Thanks for the comment. I agree that food/diapers/wipes are of the highest of priority (he has 72 hours worth in his bag). However, nail clippers and files are extremely small/lightweight, so it's not exactly a burden to carry them. Plus, he often scratches his face when sleeping so we try to keep his nails properly trimmed. Perhaps I should include some emergency fishing line and a magnesium fire starter for a real bug out situation? ;)
@TheUrbanPrepper LMAO!! MAKE THAT BABY BUST OUT HIS OWN FIRE!!! Im a stay at home dad too but the T2U2 guy just doesnt see what u are doing. now I am a father of six sons ages 2,3,4,7,9,11 and the oldest 1 has a BOB that he has made. u did it right my friend.
Great video! I love how thourough you were in packing your little one's bob. I really like your back pack system, I was wanting to know if the bags were the rush 12 and rush 24 models?
Great idea putting cloth diapers in your Baby Bob! Not sure if you have heard of them or not, but there is a product called a Snappi that will keep his prefold diapers on without the possibility of sticking him with a pin. Also, you need to make sure you are including a couple diaper covers (either wool or PUL) because prefolds do wick a LOT! 100% wool pants washed in lanolin would work really well as a diaper cover as well.
When you got something with Vic written on it that will most likely be good! Victorinox, VicFirth, all good choices!! Pretty sure no one on YT got something like a BabyBOB, awesome vid mate keep the awesome work!! Take care

my thoughts since I have 3 kids as well:
Make sure all the food you pack he will eat.
I would pack more diaper ointment.
Don't put his SSN on that bracelet.
Pin the diaper pins to the cloth diapers that why you don't have to search for them
