@EradicationCranked This post reminds me of me as a teen. The only video games were on a radio shack trs 80 computer. I had a 69 442. 455, 3 carbs, w30 heads, 10.25 to 1 compression, fireball cam, and 2.56 gears. It wouldn't do 200. But one night, a guy I wanted to race left the bar. It took a few minutes to get my 3 friends ready. When, I caught the guy he was doin' 135. I stomped it down, and went right around him. 2 weeks later my friends wouldn't talk to me. They got over it.
@levimaryott valentino rossi races bikes..so probably..and are you refering to climbing or just hiking? because I don't think bouldering 80 feet up with nothing to save you but your hands is for the faint of heart...
@jeffjg88 Baseball, basketball, football, and golf all require one thing. You only need one ball to play. Doing several hard laps around a road course is more of a rush and much more physically and mentally demanding then anything I felt out on a football field. Also I didn't know mountain climbing was so easy. I now wonder why more people don't climb Everest??
Bull fighting . . . maybe. Although I wouldn't wanna get into a ring with an animal 4 times my size and hell bent on killing me.
@inspector13jjf lol are you seriously trying to say doing several laps around a road course is more physically demanding than football? What the hell are you on man?you must have been high when you wrote that comment. If it is more demanding one day someone should put a driver up against a football player.I am only 19 6 foot 5 3/4 240 pounds and I can probably last longer on any PAT or lift more than any driver and I have scoliosis, seizures and overcame a blockage to the heart.
@legend1617 Have you ever done a race in a car setup for road racing?? It will beat you up. I played football and even got a scholarship to play football until I blew my knee out and couldn't play anymore. Now I race cars for fun. Physically demanding doesn't just mean lifting something. Playing football you are not constantly thinking or exerting yourself. You have time between plays and get rotated to rest up. Racing you are constantly thinking and having to exert yourself until the finish.
@inspector13jjf sorry to hear you blew your knee dude and no I haven't been on a road course in a car I am sure its probably rough but imo you just can't compare a contact sport with racing you put a driver on the field and more than likely 99.9 percent of them would get run over you put a football player on a track 99.9 percent will get run over if they can even fit in a sports car.I said PAT or lifting I am 230 pounds at my height I am considered skinny look on my profile pics.Thats 225.4
@legend1617 Yea unless you know what your doing at either you're going to get ran over. I am small (especially by football standards) at 5'10" and 180lbs, but at 27 I can still squat just over 400 lbs and dang near bench my body weight. I work in a factory and work on/race cars which is the bulk of my exercise because of my knee. I no longer have a dedicated race car (decided it was time to settle down & buy a house), but look for any opportunity to get to a road course in one of my street cars.
@legend1617 seriously, man, football and road racing, both are tough, I'm not arguing, but just to clear it out, they are way different kinds of tough. in football, u might get, I dunno, ran over, and brake a few bones, in a racecar, u get tossed around in ur seat, u gotta make adequate decisions, even when the speed is 190mph, even when the heat is killing you, and the enourmous G-forces against u. that is common in high-class racing. plus, u are constantly facing the threat of getting killed.

i agree with that quote from Earnest Hemmingway, btw, at 1:30 was that pikes peak? and 2:35 was a beautiful drift in that supra at Tsukuba, i love Tsukuba btw. i can tell you really like Vipers, i think its a great product of the U.S.'s evo of a musclecar, i learned 5spd on a BMW z3 3.0 i cant say ive been in a viper, but driving it on gran turismo and forza have taught me its a canned a-bomb, btw i think if the viper at the end was awd or 4wd, the driver would be dead, the driveshaft saved them.
Are you kidding? Try being battered by 4Gs over and over from different directions for an extended period of time, and still having to have perfect control of your limbs - and then tell me F1 drivers don't have to be in shape.
#1 : NASCAR is a sport, you try driving for 500 miles in a hot ass car, and sure its a bunch of left turns but when ur on those corners the Gs are pulling on u.
#2 yes racing is the best sport on earth, lets see the average joe drift down a mountain in record time or hit a 7 sec pass on a quarter mile, those things take skill.
I have both my class A and class M license. I can drive a much more skill based vehicle than a sorry ass nascar.
ANYONE can drive a race car. If you think it's difficult driving a NASCAR, than you have some real mental issues. Try driving a semi, or a motorcycle, both of those take real skill.
everyone has their own opinnion in this queastuion. Wich is better bike or a car? i prefer cars over bikes and my dad prefer bikes over cars. it's not something to argue about. i love to drift so i prefer cars :)
Having driven a cup car around Lowes Motor Speedway at about 170, I agree that anybody can do it, but not anybody can do it well. There is no doubt it my mind that nascar drivers are skilled at what they do. Putting them in the same class as F1 drivers is no comparison though.
I hate watching nascar by the way... Taking 3 laps to setup to pass a car? No thanks.
Say that to the people that drive in any racing series in the world. F1, NASCAR, LeMans, anything. Driving at 200mph is physically demanding and takes a lot of concentration, expecially of the race is hours long.
at 200 mph i do have friends! the accelerator. the shifter. the steering wheel. the clutch. the brake isnt my friend he tries to hold me back, and slow me down.
wow dude it not the car its the driver its not ezy to race around a track i no i have an audi 5000 turbo and she is fast ~.- o btw a motor cycle is not hard to race u can let go of the handle bars at 200 mph and nothin will happen it will not fall over thats because its kinda hard to move a tire side ways if its moven that fast... take the wheel off your pedle bike and spin it and try to move it ~.-
yeah, im sure you know nothing about racing, because driving in a professional race with a race car is not easy at all, and you need to be strong, and really trained, to last the whole race. so yess it is a sport, it demands soo much training, concentration, dedication, much more than other sports.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
TRAINING? You have to TRAIN to drive a car?
Look son, I know you love watching Nascar, and you see the guys on screen going "Yeah, I trained for this" but they are just people, who drive any other car.
The car is more responsible for them winning then the driver is, I don't see drivers racing crews getting hoisted on anybodies shoulders anytime soon, as they are the guys who REALLY DID TRAIN in order to do what they do.
Racing a car is not hard, I have done it in fact, racing a BIKE though...
your not realizing the big picture, anyone can drive but that doesnt mean they are going to be competative or safe on a racetrack. Also, if it's so easy to drive a car, why aren't you running with F1? Where's your million dollar contract? I guess there's no physical or mental strain there. it's not like your experiancing 4g's with spikes of 5g's.. and going around the track a few times in your frineds viper on a lapping day, that's nothing compared to even to just a 30min wheel to wheel race.
hahahaaa, rigth, look, racing a viper in a sport track is not hard,i have also taken a few bmws and my own srt8 to a track and that is reaaaly easy, but i wasnt talkin about that, i was talkin about real races, on real nascar, and believe me i know what i talk about, my bro used to drive in a serial like nascar in my country, and i saw it all, is not that easy, u have to train alot, learn the control of the car, is not like u said " turning wheel and operating a few levers and some pedals only
like we said to aticson, if it is not hard for u at all, go to nascar and get ur 50 or 80 million dollars a year contract. maybe u will get more since u are gonna be the best one. and then please send me a million dollar it would be nice.
but well, what would you know IF U ARE THE ONE WHO HAS ONLY SEEN IT ON TV. haha believe me, not everybody can do it, everybody can drive, but not in a professional race, is just like a dirt bike, i can drive one, but not in a professional race.
and like 944life said, if u say it is soo easy , i donno y u havent take a chance on f1, u could have ur 80 million dollar a year contract as schumager did.
i'm in agreement with you. last i checked, usually the drivers that are winning thier series devote as much time as they can to driving. they test in the off season, and have vigerous work out routines year round. There's nothing like seat time regardless of whether it's a car, bike, snowmobile. It's always relative and the more time you have the faster you will be. Maybe Aticston would like to show us how easy it was by posting a video of his trophy room?
hahahahaa hey 944life, i think we are gonna sit here forever and will never get an answer from aticson, looks like he has nothing else to say, looks like he realized that he only knows what he sees on tv or plays in xbox.
and yess i agree that seat time allways can make you faster. but anyways if u dont have the skills, u will never get to be a great driver, or everybody would be a professional.
lol racing isnt a sport? can you handle the g forces of going from 0-330 in 4.6 secs? i doubt it.. and i think that would require more than minimal excertion..
I've had many trucks, and many more sports cars. I love hot rod trucks (i drive one now), love being able to four by. Love being able to haul all my other toys. But by FAR there is no replacing that feeling you get tearing around that final bend, and laying into the throttle on the back strait. When done right, a car will make you feel like a driving GOD!

i agree with that quote from Earnest Hemmingway, btw, at 1:30 was that pikes peak? and 2:35 was a beautiful drift in that supra at Tsukuba, i love Tsukuba btw. i can tell you really like Vipers, i think its a great product of the U.S.'s evo of a musclecar, i learned 5spd on a BMW z3 3.0 i cant say ive been in a viper, but driving it on gran turismo and forza have taught me its a canned a-bomb, btw i think if the viper at the end was awd or 4wd, the driver would be dead, the driveshaft saved them.

Are you kidding? Try being battered by 4Gs over and over from different directions for an extended period of time, and still having to have perfect control of your limbs - and then tell me F1 drivers don't have to be in shape.

I'll admit that I'm not a NASCAR fan, but I am a hardcore AutoX driver.
The theme usually runs...
Drag racing is for fast cars
AutoX is for fast drivers

#1 : NASCAR is a sport, you try driving for 500 miles in a hot ass car, and sure its a bunch of left turns but when ur on those corners the Gs are pulling on u.
#2 yes racing is the best sport on earth, lets see the average joe drift down a mountain in record time or hit a 7 sec pass on a quarter mile, those things take skill.
Elementtechnical 2 years ago
That does not help your case at all.
demosnipe1589 2 years ago
No not at all, don't be obtuse.
demosnipe1589 2 years ago
F1 and GT racing are sports. The drivers must endure mass amounts of sustained G force, and they have to be in their physical prime.
demosnipe1589 2 years ago
lol its not really a real sport isit.
you dont even break a sweat driving cars.

NASCAR is NOT a sport, sorry... Anyone can drive a fucking race car.
Anyone can make a bunch of left turns.

Cansololife 2 years ago
I have a class A with every endorsement and a f1A license.and can i ask u what drug are u on?
triaxle73 2 years ago
a race car in the corners makes 2-3 gs
depening how fast and how sharp the corner is
if you way 100 pounds and who does?
a 2 g turn is puttin the preasere of 2oo pounds on your body and holding on the whell is like curling a 200 pound dumbbell
jonnylaw5o 2 years ago
Like curling a 200lb dumbbell? That's why all NASCAR drivers are buff and in great shape, right?
NASCAR is NOT a sport. Any average-Joe could just as easily drive in NASCAR. Driving in 500 circles is not hard, just monotones.
Cansololife 2 years ago
spelling monotonous isn't difficult either
any average Joe could drive a NASCAR for 500 miles, you're right. but it takes much more than an average Joe to do it well.
personally, I found the last F1 race I watched (Turkish GP) to be quite boring. no real action. The race at Pocono was much better.
samjezard 2 years ago
Sorry to inform you bud... but NASCAR is garbage. I ride street bikes (now that takes real talent.)
You're obviously a novice driver.
Cansololife 2 years ago
Indeed. Bikes > cars.
thejanitor99 2 years ago
everyone has their own opinnion in this queastuion. Wich is better bike or a car? i prefer cars over bikes and my dad prefer bikes over cars. it's not something to argue about. i love to drift so i prefer cars :)
treehand11 2 years ago
Having driven a cup car around Lowes Motor Speedway at about 170, I agree that anybody can do it, but not anybody can do it well. There is no doubt it my mind that nascar drivers are skilled at what they do. Putting them in the same class as F1 drivers is no comparison though.
I hate watching nascar by the way... Taking 3 laps to setup to pass a car? No thanks.
jimbo98z 2 years ago
Say that to the people that drive in any racing series in the world. F1, NASCAR, LeMans, anything. Driving at 200mph is physically demanding and takes a lot of concentration, expecially of the race is hours long.

wow dude it not the car its the driver its not ezy to race around a track i no i have an audi 5000 turbo and she is fast ~.- o btw a motor cycle is not hard to race u can let go of the handle bars at 200 mph and nothin will happen it will not fall over thats because its kinda hard to move a tire side ways if its moven that fast... take the wheel off your pedle bike and spin it and try to move it ~.-
ubuntunoobz 3 years ago
Punctation. Please!
kdvincent1982 3 years ago
alright i see ur point with the wheels, but if u let go, the wind resistance at 200 mph will probably throw u off the bike.

Good video, but I rated it 1 star because frankly no, race car driving is not a sport
Anything you do with minimal exertion is not a sport.
I don't consider golf a sport either if you want to not mince words
swimming is a sport, fencing is a sport, hockey is a sport........
Racing is sitting down and turning a wheel, operating a few levers and some pedals, while "Entertaining" is not a sport
Aticston 3 years ago
yeah, im sure you know nothing about racing, because driving in a professional race with a race car is not easy at all, and you need to be strong, and really trained, to last the whole race. so yess it is a sport, it demands soo much training, concentration, dedication, much more than other sports.
coto232 3 years ago
This comment has received too many negative votes show
Aticston 3 years ago
your not realizing the big picture, anyone can drive but that doesnt mean they are going to be competative or safe on a racetrack.
944Life 3 years ago
hahahaaa, rigth, look, racing a viper in a sport track is not hard,i have also taken a few bmws and my own srt8 to a track and that is reaaaly easy, but i wasnt talkin about that, i was talkin about real races, on real nascar, and believe me i know what i talk about, my bro used to drive in a serial like nascar in my country, and i saw it all, is not that easy, u have to train alot, learn the control of the car, is not like u said " turning wheel and operating a few levers and some pedals only
coto232 3 years ago
how is riding around in circles hard ...
theone7789 3 years ago
like we said to aticson, if it is not hard for u at all, go to nascar and get ur 50 or 80 million dollars a year contract. maybe u will get more since u are gonna be the best one. and then please send me a million dollar it would be nice.
coto232 3 years ago
but well, what would you know IF U ARE THE ONE WHO HAS ONLY SEEN IT ON TV. haha believe me, not everybody can do it, everybody can drive, but not in a professional race, is just like a dirt bike, i can drive one, but not in a professional race.
and like 944life said, if u say it is soo easy , i donno y u havent take a chance on f1, u could have ur 80 million dollar a year contract as schumager did.
coto232 3 years ago
i'm in agreement with you. last i checked, usually the drivers that are winning thier series devote as much time as they can to driving. they test in the off season, and have vigerous work out routines year round. There's nothing like seat time regardless of whether it's a car, bike, snowmobile. It's always relative and the more time you have the faster you will be. Maybe Aticston would like to show us how easy it was by posting a video of his trophy room?
944Life 3 years ago
lol
Bloodsteri667 3 years ago
hahahahaa hey 944life, i think we are gonna sit here forever and will never get an answer from aticson, looks like he has nothing else to say, looks like he realized that he only knows what he sees on tv or plays in xbox.
and yess i agree that seat time allways can make you faster. but anyways if u dont have the skills, u will never get to be a great driver, or everybody would be a professional.
coto232 3 years ago
lol racing isnt a sport? can you handle the g forces of going from 0-330 in 4.6 secs? i doubt it.. and i think that would require more than minimal excertion..
zunetrav4 3 years ago
I used to ride dirt bikes, which is FAR more exhausting then riding around in a piddly car at WHATEVER speed
And I have been around a racetrack in a friends Viper a few times
Racing, is not, hard.
You call racing a sport, then you have to agree that golf is a sport.

Yeah you cant forget skiing..
Skiing is not a game, you can do it at any age, and you can do it completely by yourself.
Bull-Fighting you need a bull
Skiing you do need a mountain but you get my point.. you can do it by yourself.

The song is called "As good as it gets" performed by Grand Theft Audio.
The song gots popularity because of the Gran Turismo 3 A-Spec game... its included in the soundtrack also.
BTW, great song!!! It fits flawlessly with all these car's videos.
