  • nice gun...can't go wrong with a smith. my dad has an old smith and wesson .38 that he put black grips on it and that thing was proably made in like the 30s or 40s and deadly accurate and machined unbelievably well.

  • If you're sellin, I'm buyin

  • nice video, if you should ever like to sell this 686 pistol, drop me a line..i am looking for a snub nose like the one you have for my personal protection. like the holster and grips that you have on this gun.

    thanks,

    mr farmer.

  • I forget the model number but they make this gun that holds 8rounds vs 6

  • 627 model is more beautifull. From performance center. Nice video.

  • I owned this exact gun and sold it. Now I could kick myself in the ass !!

Best gun I ever owned !! Deadly accurate and powerful. Congrats on

the purchase and do yourself a favor, DON'T SELL IT !!!

  • $225??? Fuck man! Where do you do your shopping...?

  • the most beautiful 686 on youtube

  • I own this exact same brand, model & caliber of snub nose, and the one really important thing that this gentleman left out of the equation was the rather important part/feature is that it is double-action. This can kinda come in handy when ya don't have time to pull back the hammer...which for the owner's sake, is hopefully never! My Step Dad had it since the mid-late '80s, and so generously handed her down to me, about four[4] months ago. I named it, 'Six Hole Sally'. LOL. {She's a bute}!

  • hello i also have a 686 357. w/ a 2.5 inch barrel and was checking out some holsers for it and i was wondering if you wwould know if a holster that fits a 2 1/8 inch 357 will fit? what type of holster do u have?

  • @SuperJulian357

I love the .357, have owned 4 and reloaded for it since the 70's, but snub nose .357 performance is awful when the barrel is less than 4".

Check out ballistics by the inch dot com, you'll be horrified at the way the .357 is crippled from a 2" barrel. Plus the recoil, muzzle flash, etc is awful.

  • R you willing to sell it ???

  • @joeberry62 If this gentleman did indeed get this pistol for two something [$200.00+]...then the person that sold it to him obviously did not realize what they had. They go online {whole sale} for more than they did new, back in the 1980's!! Sweet deal, to say the least!

  • I think this was a great NO bullshit review. Thnx dude

  • hi guys, i will buy one revolver, but i dont know which.. now i have found an revolver. you know the s&w 627 8 shoot. .357 magnum? is in the movie BLOOD WORK. what do you think, i should buy this revolver???? Please help

  • i just fell in love

  • freaking beautiful!!!

  • Check out Nill grips. No point in having a revolver unless it's beautiful.

Beautiful gun though, I lost my revolver virginity to a 686....I have no regrets but my wallet will suffer for years to come.

  • You bought that for $225??? Great deal, I'm green-eyed with envy. I hope it shoots as great as it looks.

  • sorry i know it isn't the subject but have you already use the original colt single action civilian model in 45 caliber? I would i lke to have your impressions about this mythic US gun.

  • thanks for your answer

  • 225 FOR THAT GUN... HOLY COW!!!!! THATS GREAT! ENJOY...

  • can you use 38 sp caliber with this model?

  • @pat34ful Sure. I believe you can shoot 38s in any 375 revolvers. I shoot 38s in my S&W 357 Mod 19. They are cheaper and for home defence (which on average is only 6 feet) a 38 is all you need.

  • nice revolver but what's the price ? Please tell me

  • Wow...that was a great deal! I've never been that lucky. Thanks for posting.

  • for emergency dont dial 911 just dial .357 and this guy will be at your door in less then 2 minutes! and hell say where the fuck are they!!

  • @MRs8607718 I dial 00, buy That performance center 627 snubbie 8 shot is gonna change it to .357. You gotta check that one out! The non fluted cylinder looks timeless.

  • $225???!!!! No fair!

  • I wish that had fixed sights!

  • thats so nice man!! :D

  • What a beautiful bitch!!!:) all guns are bitchs. Im not slandering you!;) it's a good thing!:)

  • that 357 is beautiful props

  • I enjoyed your vid. Looks like a very good revolver. Great enthusiasm from your part. Best.

  • beauty ..

probably the best grips i've seen in a revolver so far'

  • Nice grips, did they come with the gun or did you get them aftermarket. If the latter, what brand/make are they?

  • @cartoonconn they are factory s&w, but I changed them quite a bit to fit my liking.

  • @nuthousegaurd Great video. Those guns are built like tanks. Did you ever see the S&W 586 2 1/2 in blue? Only made them for a couple of years in the eary 90's. There are two for sale on a web site fugate firearms. Wait till you see the price. Great price you paid for yours. I see them usually go for $600.00 and up. Good luck !

  • is it semi auto

  • beautiful, one of my favorites.

  • wow that an incredible deal they should put you in jail for robbery hahaha.

  • 25 dollars or 250 dollars i just bought a 357 snubb smith and wesson, but it like the lady but a guys version of it, i lofe the look of it, nice gun though really pretty gun,

  • That is a beautifull gun...I have one alot like it, a 686-5 2.5" that has the 7 shot barrel but no lock...I really like your grips, and the holster, great taste in both...I may have to emulate your choices when getting a holster and grips for my new baby...great vid, put up another just because its such a sweet gun, and will be forever

  • very nice!

  • Is this a single action model? I am pretty sure it is not but you would know.

  • @serialkilla94 ............double action......

  • @serialkilla94 one easy way to tell if a revolver is single action for newer shooters is the look at the trigger. if its all the way to the rear of the trigger gaurd, its single action. but if its near the middle like on this gun its a good bet that its a double action.

just wanted to tell you that little trick.

  • what would you suggest for home protection?

  • @ilonlymakebmxvids lot of factors there..watch my shotgun vids. obviously any firearm you are proficient with is a good choice, a 12ga. with a light, an xd/xdm .45-.40 with a light and laser is good for a pistol, side folding ak-47 with light and eotech is nice for the country. use heavy full power hollow points, or 00 buck. If i had no fire arms I would use a spiked bat, mace, or tomahawk. good swords are hard to afford.... last ....full sized KA-bar, or Ka-bar heavy bowie.stuffs all buisness

  • @nuthousegaurd I have to make a comment on this, just in case, modifying an object/weapon to use for home defense is a bad idea, it opens lines in a legal case for the family of the victim (assuming you did your job correctly) to claim that you acted maliciously, above the manner required to insure the safety of your home and family, don't confuse me as one who supports stupid laws, just as one who understand how they work, check the castle laws for the section on equal force

  • @ilonlymakebmxvids the best I can think of for a .22 cal would be the walter P22 and only because there are so many rounds for the .22 from pepper mace rounds ( really work ) to bird shot (really hurt ) to steel core hollow points (really kill at close range). over all a glock in 9mm always fires and they got plenty of lights and lasers for both but for a big gun they have a revolver in 410 gauge / .45ACP / .45 Colt which will take anyone down EVEN IF THEY HAVE A VEST the .45 colt will kill.

  • @SgtMustang375 Really? Have you used the pepper mace rounds or the steel core hollow point .22 lr to "really kill at close range." You think a .410 from a Taurus revolver

will penetrate a vest? Your mommy shouldn't let you use the computer all by yourself.

  • @10rupeejezail hey asshole a slug from a .410 shotgun vs. a human is total threw and threw against a vest it depends on the level vest anything over III may stop the shotgun slug but those vests are 1500+ so b4 you call a 23 year old a kid you should lay ur facts out and fact is a .357 piont blank penetrates a level II vest and a .45 colt does level III so level IV is wat would stop a slug and thats not on even in my price range.

  • Comment removed

  • @SgtMustang375 Level II is proofed against .357 Magnum Jacketed Soft Point (JSP) bullets with a specified mass of 10.2 g (158 gr) and a velocity of 436 m/s ± 9.1 m/s (1430 ft/s ± 30 ft/s). That's muzzle energy about 750 ft lbs. The .410 slug has the same energy out of an 18.5" bbl but more surface area which resists penetration. Statistically, neither should penetrate level II. .45 LC has about 500 ft lbs energy which means it has even less chance of penetrating level II.

  • @10rupeejezail im not arguing with someone whos probably copy and pasting off the internet all im sayin is like 99% of robbers arent going to wear a vest and a shotgun is rated the best for home defense so a revolver using shotgun rounds is ideal

  • @ilonlymakebmxvids

A 4" barrel revolver in .357 Mag. Period.

    No snub noses, no automatics.

Any expert will tell you that.

  • That is a 3 inch barrel,,,not 2 1/2 inch. I have one just like it. Very nice gun!!

  • @roadranger27 I always wished for a little more length........My prayers have been heard!!!

  • @nuthousegaurd thats what he said

  • @roadranger27 No man, its a 2 1/2", I also have a 3" 686+ 7-shot, and its easy to tell from the ejector length(and the barrel itself is obviously a 2 1/2", it'd say on the S&W box it's a 2 1/2") that he had it right, it's 2 1/2" bbl, either way I LOVE THEM ALL!!

  • @roadranger27 This model is a 2.5 inch not 3

  • how is the trigger on that 686 ?? compared against a ruger SP101 snubnose ??

  • @RoyalAlba1 i havent shot that model ruger, but I have tried many handguns. I would say this 686 is near a colt python. not quite a refined as the colt, but a step above a stock Ruger. That being said.... I personaly will never buy another Taurus again. i've also squeezed some custom triggered Rugers that were Amazing, so any Ruger has real potential with a bit of cash flow. Hand fitment, trigger pull/action is what I look for to be happy with a gun.

  • reminds me of the movie "true romance" .

  • I had one just like it, it was awesome and accurate. I could hit a coffee can at 75 yards consistently. It carried well also in a shoulder rig. Wish that I didnt sell it, but like some things in life, you dont know how good it is until its gone.

  • looks nice

  • AWSOME ID SAY BEST POUND FOR POUND REVOLVER FOR SELF DEFENCE I SHOT A GUY WITH FEDERAL THEY WORK TRUST ME BEST BULLET AROUND

  • @MrNightshade69 There you have it folks..............i knew it was a good combo.

  • why do you need to carry a gun with you

  • @uberlightskater11....... assault , robbery , car jacking , rape , murder , sex offenders , crazy people on the street.......did you read my name here? I have seen some of the the worst people around...and some look like you or me..I cant fit a cop in my pocket, and it takes over seven minutes to get on if you call. Have you ever been in a fight? have you ever tried to fight a grown man for 7 minutes? I take responsibility for my families safety, I dont hide in the sand thinking a cop can help.

  • @nuthousegaurd could not be said any better than that.

  • @nuthousegaurd right on! or we could all just get castrated and become ultra pacifist like the socialist left would have it. Take my wife, take my daughters and money. I am so sorry you have these violent feelings, its your parents fault for not showing you love. I carry 5 shots of +P love Every Day!!!!!

  • @nuthousegaurd

Yes but if you probably go in jail after, you surely know an other jungle , it's a tricky problem to conceder.

  • Damn, that is NICE.

Galco holsters are by far my favorite. I love the canted outside waistband ones. Also, 225? Shit.

Short barrels actually tend to be more accurate than long ones. That is because they have less harmonic vibration. People say they aren't as accurate because the sight radius isn't as long, which amplifies bad habbits of shooters.

  • @MegaGewehr

Yes Galco seems to be My favorite so far. I just picked up a Galco cop thumb break for my XD .45 I plan on posting a vid of that soon. The break in period is essential to get a good fit for the thumb break Galcos.

  • @nuthousegaurd I noticed a huge defense in my thumb break holster for my P226R between when I first got it and about 2 months later. It no longer creeks on my belt, drawing is very smooth, etc. I plan to buy a few for my Glocks. They're pricey, but worth every penny imo.
