The facts are, Datsyuk wins defensive player of the year 3 times in a row, has 2 cups, and puts up close to 100 point seasons. Not to mention he has the best hands in the game. Watch some of his shootouts they explain themselves. Crosby, he's fantastic on one end of the ice. But hockey's a team sport.

Their PK% was in the bottom half this year, was 5th from last in 08-09 when they won the Cup. Post lockout Detroit's D overall has been pretty bad. @templetonbob Rafaski, Lidstrom, Kronwall make up one half of their defense. Or they did since last season since Rafaski retired. But those guys alone are great defensemen, arguably the best defensive combination in the league. Now I know what’s next. Even though you probably do agree with that you can't let me win.... @rowmike27 Why would I disagree, those 3 players are all exceptional. So half of the defense has been elite. But then how is it in 08-09 they struggled so much? And this year was iffy as well. You can put big names up there, but it really comes down to the numbers. It's not like Crosby hasn't played with Orpik, Letang, Gonchar, Whitney, even Goligoski has been solid. You're just looking for something to bring him down with. What else are you gonna say, he has a better coach? His stick is nicer?

@templetonbob Letang, Gonchar and Goligoski are all offensive defensemen and imo Letang is overrated. Look what happened to his numbers as soon as Sid and Malkin left this year. Orpik is consistent on a low, under the radar level and he's not nearly as good as any of Detroit’s three. Last time the Pens had Whitney was the midseason of 08-09 when he was a -15. Gonchar wasn't there last year either for Sids record pace. Again, we're talking about Datyuks career right and not just last year?

haha hey is anyone else reading this? Simpletonbob is saying Crosby, who has a career PPG average of 1.38 over five and and half seasons, wouldn't be able to keep up his point pace earlier this year because Steven Stamkos, who has a .95 career PPG average over three seasons couldn't. According to simpletonbob, despite their drastically different career statistics, they are basically the same hockey players. Simpleton, lol you know you're wrong. @templetonbob dastyuk is great but crosby is putting up 100 point seasons with dupuis and kunitz and recently 50 points in a 25 game streak with DUPUIS AND KUNITZ LMFAO. btw crosby's shooting percentage has been 19.9 and 17.1 the last two seasons. datsyuks lower, so he's not a puck hog he's the best sniper in the league.ROFLMFAO @ calling crosby selfish
crosby is one of those people who can be as good as the greatest ever if he truly desires to be. i think dastyuk is underrated at times tho

@templetonbob haha I mean dude, Crosby has already 4 100+ seasons in every healthy season he's played and Stamkos doesn't. Crosby already went to 120 points in 79 games in the 06-07 season, why couldn't he do it again? Oh that's right, because Steven Stamkos can't do it... gotcha ;)

@rowmike27 Stamkos shared a trophy with Cindy during Cindy's highest goal season. Taking away Stamkos' rookie season He's over 1.15 ppg . Now what makes you sound like a complete dumbass is the fact that you think Cindy would have kept a 1.6 ppg avg for another 40 games. So yes Stamkos is a good example of being hot/cold. Cindy only played 40 games, it's not anything special until he can play an entire season at that level. It's funny how you have to post 3 times to get your point across haha
