the grammys are full of shit, the gayest musicians get nominated for that shit, i wouldnt be surprised if lady gaga was nominated in every category, so fuckin stupid
The thing about Radiohead (Thom especially) is that they aren't conformists and they're proud of it. That's why the media (the Grammys especially) don't like to acknowledge them, even though it's kind of hard to...seeing as how they're basically the only true visionaries we have left.
@PunkFictionProdction I wouldn't say that they're the only visionaries.. There is an indie wave progressing, in britain at least, which has a real albeit slow progressive force behind it. I would say however that they've expanded into a style - genre even - that they themselves created. Which is amazing.
If you had the chance to see radiohead on the grammys show last year 2009... you´ll notice jow the band members were the ackward guests of the show. The fucking cameras never pointed at them and when they did it was because of the nominees moment for in rainbows (which they didn't get). My point is that the fucking music industry has a hard time to deal with them when they released "In rainbows" their way and how in God's name could we expect them to give Radiohead a grammy????
I wouldn't really use the word "nice". He's REAL. That makes people awfully nervous. There's a video of him staring into the crowd for an extended period of time during his first appearance on BBC, while he plays the piano. It's him challenging the conventions of human interaction.
like i said, shut the fu$% up people. times change people change. how dare you judge. walk in a man's shoes before you do. Radiohead rules!!! we love you Thom Yorke!!!
And this year (2009) he did a TV Spot for the Grammys, how ironic.
I wonder who wants to win best album of the year?
Radiohead is playing the same old game of the rest of the industry, I bet you that the "uncorporated" Thom Yorke it's going to dress up to attend the biggest corporated event of the year on the biggest corporated network (CBS), so hipocrital.
Would it be hypocritical to assume you're intelligent enough for other people to read about your opinions seriously when you cannot spell "hypocritical"?
And what was this TV spot? The spot was Thom telling very personally what inspired his current occupation. He even used an anecdote. Listening to it, it's obvious he wasn't in that for the money, he was in it answer a question that was posed to him. So that doesn't prove him a hypocrite at all.
these 16 seconds may not be, but more of this same interview is included within the last 10 mins of mpie, the interview when thom says "your home's at risk if you do not keep up repayment"

No, that's Matt Pinfield, the VJ who hosted 120 Minutes on Mtv in the late '90s. This interview was done in spring 1998.
