As has been said a few times already. The tape got eaten when someone borrowed the tape and used it in a shitty camera, so it was difficult to salvage
Its a customer's car, not mine, I wouldn't say "a lot of money" in it, in comparison to the averages in the race car world. The quality problem is mainly due to me loaning the tape to a friend who's camera ate the tape and damaged it, unfortunately.. I am lucky to get what I did off it
bad ass!!!!, iv seen 500+ blow apart on dyno's> I had 3 2gs and iv never came close to this power on stock block, its nice to see someone get these number's , thanks for the inspiration ....
and big props to the tuner, cant believe its still holding strong
You're a fucking idiot. I'm picturing you sitting there as a sideways hat wearing wannabe country boy who's actually from a middle class suburbia family, probably about 17-19 years old, or at least have the brain of one..
Check the web page and practice your reading comprehension. The author of this movie and the tuner of the car has set records in the domestic world working with the Hemis and is no stranger to the LS1 as well. Don't try to comment on something you're totally ignorant of.
Tuff motor in the future though, the owner has to know that a lil mitsu 4 banger cant handle that comp. for long....its kind of like when michael jackson touched kids & almost got away with it.
@4g63Elitist sorry sir but a tune wont save the 7 bolt 3 piece thrust main from failing. if you wana push a 4g63 plat form with alot of power for any lenght of time a 6 bolt is the only answer
This motor in this car is a 6 bolt as already stated, but a 7 bolt is not much weaker. 3 piece main is irrelevant. Tune goes a long way if you understand what the eventual weak point of the motor is and what makes it fail.
@4g63Elitist the block on a 7 bolt is actually a lot stronger but the rods and crank were lightened, that's where the failure usually occurs. there are plenty of tricks to make a 7 bolt way stronger than a 6 bolt. a super strong crank and rods and a good set of bearings. that would be bullet proof.
not a ticking time bomb? how so? a 600whp car is gonna wear those rods a whole lot quicker than a 300 whp car would. impressive but no way is that thing reliable for too long.
the tuner of this car is one of the best on the east coast when it comes to mitsubishis - check the website - we are not sure where the eventual point of failure will be, but we are fairly certain it will be a rod bolt if anything; car has been regularly like this (a couple times a week, seeing nothing less than full power) for well over a year. bearings and rod bolts wear, the rods really do not. compression check very recently showed still like new compression
nocomplex - you're a moron if you think sped up video; some of the footage was taken with a damaged tape unfortunately, that is why it's all broken up. if you have doubts, visit the site in the vid and send an e-mail, and your questions will be answered as long as you are polite
It is a basic GT35R setup, all bolt on parts. Has hte usual supporting mods, AEM EMS, stock bottom end, cam only head. 110 race fuel. E-mail the tuner from the site in the vid if you want more information, he will answer your questions.

I wish I could find someone who can do a tune like that for my Eclipse. My motor's not totally stock, but I'd love to make power like that.

INCORRECT! The motor will take it all day long with the proper tune.
This car is still running strong, FYI.

Not a time bomb at all. Owner has been driving it beating on it weekly in 600whp form. Compression checked last week, still perfect 165 across.
4g63Elitist 3 years ago
fast as fuck and sounds sweet too, but surely its a bit of a time bomb with stock rods and bolts no?
