  • Wow I love how they did the end, with Violetta running into Alfredo's arms. I've never seen a "Traviata" end that way. Has a greater impact. On a side note, June Anderson is just perfect.

  • What a brilliant and sympathetic Violetta Anderson makes!

  • Love this ten minute stuff.

  • I am sure, with the collection you have, you could have chosen among 10s of Violettas. But you chose this exceptional performance with this exceptional, professional, moving and unique singer. Thanks for sharing the art of June Anderson (not to mention Verdi of course!)

  • Now we're getting into the very BEST of Verdi: La Traviata, Il Trovatore, and Rigoletto! I wish youtube allowed videos longer than 11 minutes, but 10 minutes plus a few seconds works just fine. Nice work. We all appreciate it.

  • Of course I love that you chose June.

Was this in Venice? The only Traviata I ever saw her in was NY 2001.

  • I think this is Rome, but I may be wrong.

  • oh..she is June Anderson...Bravo

  • I have to say that I have always loved June Anderson's singing. She sounds amazing here. Thanks coloraturafan. I love your videos :)

  • Thanks for the 10 minute concept......I have used a couple of your previous posts to introduce friends to previously unfamiliar works with great success.......keep up the good work!!

  • wow - june sounds absolutely stellar!

  • Thanks for posting this, though I wouldn't have picked June Anderson myself.

  • I think it's their dark timbre, but Netrebko lacks so much compared to (or even not compared to for that matter) to June Anderson.

  • Wow! Until you mentioned June Anderson, I thought it might be Netrebko! They have such a similar style of singing!

  • No way man, Netrebko's voice is much much darker and would fail desperately in term of agility.

  • I knew it was June Anderson from the just note. For me there's no comparison to Netrebko in terms of sound.

  • *first note

  • Brilliant job!
