dont you think that the invasion of iraq would encourage any hostile regime to even try to attain the bomb faster? its the only weapon that makes a nation untouchable. and the main step in making a nuclear bomb is the enrichment process which requires thousands of centrifuges that iran is building now. irak is the only shiite dominated nation with iran so it will be a strong ally. greeting from germany. and think closely before you associate the iraq war with any policy change.

They must explain why Iran "apparently" discarded their nuke ambitions at the same time 150 000 US troops appeared on their doorstep. I have high skepticism that their nuke-seeking is over. well the argument is that why would iran need nuclear energy when they have so much oil, but in fact iran has to heavily subsidize gasoline because there isnt enough of it for the population. refineries are still from the stonge age. but then again consider other oil producers, mexico also uses nuclear power. its hard to tell them what to do, its very uniting for the people to see their president stand up for their nation.
Fine, if they want to build nuclear power plants, there is a cast-iron internationally-monitered process that they have to go through. They should announce their intent to the world and allow open inspection. THEY HAVE NOT DONE THAT!!

Iran's military actions were only defensive in 1980-82. From 82-88 those human minesweepers were treading on Iraqi soil. And like suicide bombers, they believed they were getting the 72 virgins.

Iran was never building nukes, America accused it of doing so and now it says they stopped building bombs! It was a myth then and it is a myth now because building nukes is a total waste of money. Trust me, the people who walk on mines voluntarily to fight their enemies are not easily threatened and they definitly don't change their plans out of fear.
Iran's behavior- What the IAEA called a "pattern of concealment"- is absolutely inexplicable if it was only building nuclear devices for "peaceful purposes". You don't give death-worshipping theocracies the benefit of the doubt.
First of all they didn't conceal anything, they showed lot more of their technology than america, UK or Israel ever would. They just didn't accept bullying. Second, they don't worship death, they just give their life for their country and that's as patriotic as one can be and very admirable. Please don't mix-up Iraq suicide-bombings with Iran's defensive sacrifices of lives during Iran-Iraq war.
