  • it is interesting to see the techniques that different radio show hosts use to get their point across to people.. some use emotions because it is much easier to communicate things in an emotional and passionate way to emotional beings such as humans.. on the other hand it is much harder to get your point across to regular everyday people by explaining things logically in a cold formal manner.. i hope more critical thinking classes are being taught in our school for all of our sakes lol

  • Not Thoms best performance, he still rocks though.

  • McCain is a very angry person. Our hopes to regain national respect should not be in the arms of a senile and angry man.

  • God, Hartman sounds like a complete idiot debating here. Martin did a much better job. If thats the best Hartman can do on tv, he needs to stay on radio. Where's Jeanne Garafulo when you need her.

  • Hartmann has admitted he's not made for tv, but he is a good debater. Each day he debates someone from the right on his talk show, and is always courteous, and never condescending.

  • Yeah he is condisending, plus I have resently found out that his so called debates against conservatives are staged, his producers send talking points to those guest prior to them coming on so their answers sound founds. Enough with Thom.

  • I just don't believe that. I have listened to him for years and I need more evidence than you just saying it's so.

  • That's a ridiculous point, because, even if the producers WERE sending talking points to the guests, the guests are autonomous humans who've clearly expressed an opinion on subjects being discussed, and are free to expound or respond however they wish. If they are that easily duped by some "planted talking points", perhaps they're not worth listening to, anyways! puhlease...

BTW, WTF does "sound founds" mean?

  • The point is why does his producer need to be sending any talking points in the first place. If the author has the were with all to do the research and write the article, he certainly doesnt some producer to tell him of what points to talk about, unless it is to make Thom look bigger than he really is.

  • The talking points are for the guests sake. Radio is a quick game, and if you want to keep up with the conversation it is beneficial to know the general structure of the conversation Thom is going to have.

  • Bullshit, if the guest can articulate his thoughts into an article, than they dont need to be spoon fed what to say. That is thought police. No its to make Thom look like a condasending PRICK!

  • Ok there, big evil Thom is out to brain wash you.

  • He is out to make himself out to be a psuedo intellection and talk down to those who can stand up to him. He is a phony liberal who only cares about party loyalty and peddling books. When he tried to slam Cindy Sheehan, that was it as far as I was concerned. He is a schill.

  • Two questions. 1) Should the US ever have given ground to air missiles to Osama bin Laden? 2) Should the US ever have supplied chemicals for poison gas to Saddam Hussein? Foreign policy matters.

  • Thom Hartmann is the best, but he sucked here.

  • well, it was a really silly conversation.

  • WOW! Hartman was blubbering all over this video. Its quite disturbing really considering how eloquent he is. He's a master at debates, jousting regularly with guys from the right. what happened? has he ever acknowledged his performance here?

  • He tried to be moderate, which is never good in tv debates. He is at his best when he has the time to expand on the facts. Besides, you can't argue with Ben Ferguson's bs. That would require a whole other hour.

  • What's wrong with Thom? He's usually more eloquent. ...but yeah, News casters can't start wars when they're angry. Cab drivers can't start wars with their temper. I wouldn't want a president that can't control himself.

  • Young Ben, do you know nothing about Western involvement in the middle-east over last 1000yrs. Every heard of the Crusades? How about our 1950's involvement in Iran? Did you fight in Korea or Vietnam or Iraq? Do you know about Russians 10 War in Afghanistan? Were you born in 1990? Why aren't you fighting in Iraq? Ron Paul knows history and he's been to wasted wars. Republicans want to discredit Ron Paul anyway they can because he was only Republican who tried to get USA to avoid Vietnam II.

  • doesn't look good for mccain
