  • He shows the 1390 first, and the 1300 second. The 1300 does not have Bluetooth, Lane Assist or a speed limit indicator. But the 1390 does. I know because I own both. In my own opinion, spend the little extra money and get the 1390. Both do come with lifetime traffic updates, which does come in handy around bigger cities.

  • In Argentina we pay USD1.40 a liter

  • Does the 1300 have lane assist? Or will I have to know the motorways in LA. I'm worried we've got the wrong one?

  • lol. 3.20 a gallon. It's 4.09 a gallon here in Taxachusetts

  • the first GPS you showed is the 1390 NOT the 1300! The second one you showed is the 1300 NOT the 1390! Thought you would know!

  • We purchased a Nuvi 1300 and are very happy. We are using OSM maps. My question is what the does the white rotating arrow on the lower left side represent in 'track up' view mode? Is it a compass pointing north? I have been searching the Internet and have not found an answer. Thank you. :)

  • How often does the 1300 update it's info? I've noticed that for streets that were renamed about 3 years ago the 1300 still gives the names of the old streets. Also in the Point Of Interest section when I look for some resturants that opened about 2 or 3 years ago the POI doesn't have them listed. So when should I expect for these things to be updated? Is there a feature that will look for updated street names and businesses?

  • good vid

  • thanks for the info

  • The DISK is also required in MN.

  • REALLY NICE VIDEO! can anybody PLEASE TELL ME which one is better 255w or the 1300 version? thankyou please respond

  • @IITheVII i have the 255w its a nice model i liked it but it doesnt come with the traffic. you should get the 255WT for traffic or buy a traffic cable for the 255W. i now have the 1390t which came with the traffic cable and compatible with a new feature called ecoroute HD which is a device that connects to the cars computer which sends information to the GPS device on the performance of your car to include error codes if your car has the check engine light. youtube search ecoroute HD to see it

  • @tboy221 thank you very much indeed! im going to boy the 255w this week as i need it just for the tour and i dont need the traffic package :) so as u say it is great! i have checked some forums and i decided for the 255w thank you very much for the replay man!! :)regards!

  • @IITheVII glad i can help you wont be disappointed as i wasnt except when i lost it in my garage. i hope it turns up

what i liked most about it are the multiple folders you can create in the favorites menu. to easily organize your saved locations

  • do u really want to hide your gps everytime ur in and out the car? The best way is to mount it under dashboard and tint your windows dark. Sorry, i live in vegas and it gets hot ...so dark tint is allow in the front seats.

  • Can you guys in the U.S get the 1340T?

It's basically inbetween the 1300 and 1390T in terms of features. It has park assist and traffic subscriptions but it doesn't have the bluetooth feature. However, it's quite a bit cheaper than the 1390T, so if you don't need bluetooth it's the one to get.

In the UK the 1340T is £115 and the 1390T is £150; the 1390T isn't worth the extra just for the bluetooth IMO.

  • i pay less than a $1 per Gallon in my country. so fun!

  • My wife researched Navsats based essentially on a magazine in Australia called 'Choice'magazine which test drives various products. She eventually chose the Garmin 1300 which I started to play with and fell in love with. I went out and bought the 1390t after receiving a traffic infringement notice. I didn't know my speedo was so far out until I tested it with my navigator. I also liked the mount as compared to the other systems I checked out.

  • This video is just what I needed to help me see the garmin in action. Thanks

  • Just a question ..

why is there a mic on the 1300?

I found it to be completely useless

  • I jus purchased the Garmin Nuvi 1300 and for some reason i'm not able to turn off the Gps Simulator , Whenever i go into tools and choose to turn it off, it just stays on. So when i actually try to use my Garmin while on te road, it says "Gps is off" The map doesnt show my exact location, on the main screen on the top left corner, its a red X in the middle of the gps signal . Also if i let it sit for a few secs it goes into demo mode. Anyone know how to fix this problem? contact me please.

  • One more thing...GARMIN is the only trusted gps to get as far as reliability of satellite, freezing problems, and among other things....this is why GARMIN is the top selling GPS.

  • $100 GPS are good as stand alone....but if u like me that wants bluetooth, mp3 player, voice activated menu, and audio out to your car stereo it worth spending the extra $100. Garmin nuvi 885t has all these features for $200-$300 where 1 year ago it was $500-$800.

  • having a suction cup is the worse thing because its visible and ur car gets jacked.

  • you mean people bother to steal GPS now? when you can buy one for less than $100?

  • @DJTEVAdotCOM thats why you take it off and hide it in your glove box...

its not like having a dash mount will prevent your gps from being seen.

  • @DJTEVAdotCOM most of those Garmins' have a security feature that you need a password to operate, and you need to be at your home to unlock it.

  • I wish somebody would compare all the GPS Traffic devices. Traffic is the most important feature

  • Great video - thanks very much. Very well explained and it's great to see the sat nav being used like that before thinking about buying one.

Two comments though from a UK resident :-) $3.20 a gallon! Wow! In the UK it's £5, which is $8.37! Also: 17 to 21mpg?! blimey! That's insane! The only cars here that do that are very red and Italian :-) My Lotus does 45mpg and my BMW does 37mpg. Don't take that the wrong way; I'm just amazed at the differences between UK and USA :-)

  • 3,20 $ a gallon is realy cheap. We pay 1,33 € a Liter!!

  • @RobM77 Thats because us here in the USA dont care about the environment like everyone in Europe, wed like goin to war for oil too. I hate the direction my beloved country is goin :(
