i think the new lyric is much better. The old one was less specific and could have been interpreted as something John said on the phone as he was watching the disaster outside his window.
I almost felt like she was over-doing it the first half, but when it got to the serious point of the song she handled it beautifully. I don't really like the new lyric bit about the fruit loops in the second half (from when it first played last year). Thanks for posting this :)
Beautiful interpretation. Am I the only one who noticed the tiny breeze in sync with "I'll be here" at 3:40? Some things you just can't script.
