To all those people wondering what his hardware is, the guitar has stock pups and I'd say it's the amp's overdrive - no pedals. Sounds like a marshall for sure. Fantastic video man, your playing is impeccable. I'ma get me one of these bad boys asap :D
Very nice playing man. That sounds a lot like my playing style (legato pentatonic scale ect.) IIs this guitar easy to solo on? I am seriously considering getting an LP Studio, and I am trying to do a little research before I buy. Your reply will be greatly appreciated.
@Mrr3nato Looks like his guitar isn't faded, therefore it must have the 490R/498T combination (aka Modern Classics). When comparing them to Burstbucker Pros, you can't really say which pair is better. They are both good, but for different purposes. Burstbucker Pros are more vintage-sounding (great for classic stuff), while Modern Classics are more modern-sounding, but also more versatile (good for pretty much everything, from jazz to metal).
I want one of these in that exact color with gold hardware so bad I can taste it. Just a fantastic guitar. Nothing in the world sounds quite like a Les Paul through a Marshall tube amp.
Well i play strats and super strats alot and i dont find it too bigger neck. Its certainly not an uncomfortable neck and i have smallish hands. Its not a baseball bat like some les paul customs but its still got enough wood there.
@benwilshire i played an epiphone les paul ultra II once and i found the neck very difficult to play, too thick and difficult to reach the high frets. However that was 3-4 years ago. And that made me to worry for all les pauls :D They look badass but i always think that :s I have to try on myself at the music store
@benwilshire dude , is this les paul worth buying if im gonig to play the, blues? my dream always was to have a les paul, but its too expensive like 3000 dollars.yesterday i saw this gibson les paul studio for 1200 at a local music store, i made a reseach and the gibson site told it was exectly like a standard one, is this true, thanx
@k0staZ It's based on a late 50's neck. So They thinned out a little in the later 50's. These necks are very nice to play. And i am used to playing thin necked Kramer's and superstrats.
@jbmc111 Hello man Prescence - 2 Treble - 2.5 Mids - 3 Bass - 5 Gain about 4 or 5 Lead two channel though i use the lead 1 and crunch channels now. Hope this helps man:)!!! Ben
hey man, got my tsl100 yesterday, but can get no where near as much gain as some of your videos and the tone is no where near as nice.. any suggestions why? thanks.
My DSL was just the same when i got it. New amps need breaking in just like new guitars. When i got mine the tone was very weak and very watery not very good at all. After about a week of hard playing the amp really started to sing and was very full sounding. Try that mate just playing it for a while and if no joy then re tube and service may be in order but i spect this will do the trick. Has done for many other people who have messaged me with the same problem.
The neck on the studio is a lot thinner than the custom. still thick but a bit less of a hand full, the custom is a bit of a baseball bat. The gibson studio all the way mate its a brilliant guitar and you can pick em up for not much for than the epiphone custom.
So far I have seen a lot of videos where people's playing doesn't match the gear they have. Its very frustrating. You obviously know how to play that Les Paul very well. Congrats.
i give you props man. I'm about to buy a les paul so i wanted to see how it will sound with my marshal. All the videos i've seen so far are perfect examples of people having incredibly expensive gear but not really knowing how to use it. Your video is a perfect example of having great gear and knowing how to use it! congrats
I am looking into buying the gibson les paul studio and i would very much appreciate it if you could tell me how good the sustain is on this guitar, thanks.
P.S . Those are some sweet licks man keep rockin!!
Yeah it sustains forever like most les pauls or any solid mahogony body guitar. If you have the stop bar tail peice on the bridge down low to the body as well that helps. No problems with lack of sustain on the studio.
@FooFightersAreAwesom LP Studios are great guitars. I recently bought one second hand as well only mine was split where the neck and body meet (I got it cheaper because it had been repaired) The guy I got it from had it professionally repaired but long story short it still sustains like a mother f***** even after the repair. My strat can't touch it. I would definitely recommend one to any one that doesn't need a trem.

that is awesome man you deffinitely have the skills to make any crappy band into a decent one with your playing.keep it up man!and good luck! =]
I would very much recomend this amp it is awesome!! I play a few different stlyes from rock and blues with the LP and neoclassical metal with my YJM strat and it sounds great with all of them. With a les paul you shouldnt need any pedals at gigs and at home i only ever use just the amps OD and nothing else. It has litrally no background noise at all and never feedbacks. Another good point is that it is loud as hell as well!.
Depending on what you are doing the DSL401 could be better. 40 watt all valve is still really loud and though mine is 100 watts i only have it on about 4 or 5 at gigs. The 401 sounds awesome too just wether you want something bigger for your needs or more portable both sound awesome.
