i've beaten boss rush on the nightmare and dreamland version and I've gotten to the nightmare on this one

How did you still have the high jump ability when you were fighting dedede?

@meganerdXD when you fight meta knight the sword is mandatory and will replace your current ability for just that fight.

I agree with Speedsense. What other Nintendo character either mercilessly rips the enemy to shreds, SWALLOWS IT, and gains its ability, or TORTURES IT by keeping it in his mouth, and spitting it out as a star!?

You need to hit it with the Star Rod about 40-50 times before you hit the ground. Of course, I have not played Kirby's Adventure or Nightmare in Dreamland; I do know this from Kirby's Rainbow Resort.

You can stop the High Jump in midair bij pressing B again. Use that immediately after hitting a bos to lower you fall, thus preventing the little bounce when you hit the ground.

How did you get the Hi-Jump after the boss with Metha Knight? You've fight those bosses at diffrent times.

Since you must use the sword to battle Meta Knight, the game gives you back whatever power you had when you went into the Meta Knight fight. Therefore, if you had the High Jump going into Meta Knight, you'll also have it going into King Dedede.
