  • Aoraki / Mount Cook hiking is a piece of Cake.

  • I visited Bruce's plaque at the K2 memorial near K2 basecamp a few weeks ago - within a day or two of the anniversary of his death. I said a quiet word for Bruce and his family and shared a very special moment sitting amongst the momentos and prayer flags left for climbers who never made it back down.

  • @nzcampbell Hi campbell, did you trek to K2 basecamp by yourself or was it a guided trek? I'm very keen on doing this.

  • @Triple777ER Hey buddy I did it with Snowland Tours. I'm not big on organised tours but it would be really far by yourself. You could also go to Skardu and organise yourself a couple of porters from there and saving a bit of money. Kamal from Snowland is a really helpful guy though.

  • @nzcampbell Thanks a lot, I appreciate it. Am definitely very interested in doing this trek sometime over the next few years. What did you think about the safety in Northern Pakistan? I suppose its not that high of a threat but I've read that they require you to have an army escort at all times?

  • he was such an amazing, brave and attractive man!

  • A most beautiful soul n a true gentleman, you soul will live for ever xxxxxx cheers honey

  • I remember Bruce as a person of few words – a very ‘cool dude’. I climbed the East Ridge of Mt Cook with him. He carried a parapente up and simply flew from the top. He was waiting for us at the bottom of the mountain with a few cold beers chilling in the stream. Great guy!

  • RIP Bruce

  • he was "the man"
