  • Yuan hello and thank you. Quite unusual that the song is repeated in form of a duet but with Lata missing. Reason is that Lata and Rafi were not recording any duets at the time so the MD's used Lata with other male singers and if Rafi was needed, they'd use either Asha or Suman Kalyanpur as in this case. This song was taken from SD Burman composition of "Thandi Hawaein, Lehra Ke Ayein". Roshan used the same tune earlier in some song that was sung by Asha.

  • @RealMusicKing - Earlier also someone said a similar thing about the melody, in my other channel.

    Thank you my dear friend.

  • dharamendra is still having those killing looks....

  • one of my hunting song .it enthralled my mind whenever i listen.i feel that latji had sung it but came to know that it was great suman kalyanpur.lataji and sumanji are not for the same period.some one has to suffer.

  • @crazyoldsongs

Can you pls tell me difference between two voices (Lata & Suman), I am not that lucky and not able to differentiate. If you can then let me know what is the difference.

  • @yogione72 If you listen carefully, Suman's voice quivers when she holds a note (quite noticeably). Lata's voice is rock steady. This distinction is a dead give away. Without it, sometimes it is difficult to tell one from the other.

  • both singers are top but there was some problem in the film field. so many songs went to Lataji. One thing I want tell you there was one more singer Krishna Kalle, her voice was also good she sang in hind with Mukeshji, Mahhendra Kapoorji, Mana deyji but same thing happened with her also.

  • WOW, I had that Lata version, never knew this one existed. Thank you!

  • @faheem1966 - You are most welcome, my dear friend.

yeh gulshan aap ke bina mahak nahin rahi hain

yahan pe dam ghoot raha hain

    laut ke aaja mere meet

    tujhe mere geet bulate hain

  • What a handsome man Dharmendra was!!

  • lovely !

yuan i have been lucky in the case of suman and lata ji . till date have never made a mistake in recognising their voices !

  • I know. Very few people have that ability and you are one of them!

Thank you my dear friend A.

  • @Mahagedara2 the female voice is i think mubarak beghum ,not suman kalyanpur

  • @atiullah97 - No my friend, this is Suman.

The same song, a solo is sung by Lata in the same film. I have posted that one too, by the way.

What I came to know is that during this time, there have been some "misunderstandings" between Lata and Rafi and they have chosen Suman to sing this one.

Fortunately, the both Greats have "overcome" the misunderstanding subsequently and have produced many "gems" together!

    Yuan.

  • @Mahagedara2 sorry i was wrong...

    taking my words back....

  • @atiullah97 - No problem, my dear friend.

It is very nice of you to have replied.

    Thank you and take care.

  • The solo picturized on Suchitra Sen (young in the movie) was sung by Lata.

  • You are absolutely correct.

I have already posted that song too, sung by LataJi.

  • One of the ultimate songs ever made, under the great music of Roshan. This upload must have come from the personal choice of Yuan.

  • Thank you my dear Professor for your kind words. Just now only I came to know that the singer was Suman not Lata and I corrected it.

Our dear friend "rumahale" is the one who helped me to correct it.

    Thanks and take care.

  • One has to have highly sensitive and trained ears to differentiate between Suman and Lata. Even people with highest claims can make a mistake in this respect. I, therefore, completely exonerate you for this mistake.

This beautiful song is structured on three equally strong pillars, Suman the singer, Roshan the composer and most importantly, Majrooh Sultanpuri the lyricist. Great composition indeed.
