  • oh dude, i gotta try that. this soldier on national geographic said u just pour the tabasco sauce in the water. why'd you guys put it in a bottle. i wish you wouldve shown the whole explosion.

  • You'd shit like a it was a bomb if you eat that mre.

  • @vireak209

oh i know dude! those things taste like shit! no wonder we can't win our war on terror! they're feeding our soldiers that shit!

  • I added a video of lighting the gas from mre , but not been put here as approval is needed. go to my youtube page montgomeryrichard to see it,

  • @montgomeryrichard

It's been approved. It should be showing. It's showing mine.

  • Nobody seems to have mentioned that the gas given off when water is added to mre is highly inflammable hydrogen gas.All you are doing is using the gas pressure build up for the bang. Igniting the gas would be much more dangerous a bit like as exploding camping gas cylinder... I am not suggesting that anybody does such a thing(Army,Danger?) but you all seem to be soldiers out to relive boredom not girl guides on summer camp. May I suggest an open flame nearby in a very open place (grin)

  • @montgomeryrichard

i think it produces carbon dioxide

  • @s11033 No... it produces Hydrogen gas and Magnesium Hydroxide.

  • @montgomeryrichard

It was spur of the moment between iterations of Warrior Forge. We also hunted trees with blank rounds and cleaning. Suffice it to say, I had to buy a new cleaning kit.

  • @montgomeryrichard You're not even supposed to use water in an MRE bomb.. Supposed to use rubbing alcohol & dry ice.

  • @InTheCity89 That's a dry ice bomb, genius. It has nothing to do with an MRE.

  • @montgomeryrichard It would be nothing like exploding a propane cylinder. A propane cylinder is pressurized until the propane liquefies, so it can hold several gallons of explosive fuel that create a massive, destructive incendiary blast when ignited. This reaction creates a very rarefied hydrogen gas that will create at most a small puff of fire that doesn't even stick around long enough to ignite anything else.

  • ps it works better when u cut that pack and put the powerd in there not the hole pack and use like a thin water bottle it gets huge then sounds like a quarter stick

  • that is freakin awsome

  • Add the chili powder packet to the water, and wrap the bottle in 100 mile an hour tape. It makes a really loud explosion and gives off something like a pepper gas. We threw one in my 1sg's tent in the field, and watch him run like a girl

  • Hooha!!!!!

  • "It's not---!"

  • @HITMANSPIKE007 it was it's not guna blow then last sec it blows.

  • this looks like boredom out on warrior forge or something at ft. lewis

  • @joneski151 It was at warrior forge. I think 2006 or 2007.

  • looks like the explosion broke the camera

  • hey, u know u can open the heater packs, and pour powder in, beats stuffing bag in gatorade bottle

  • Surplus stores

  • DAAAAAAAAAAAMMMMMMNNNNNNNNNNNNN!

  • Military Surplus

  • the internet

  • ima make one & stick it in a gopher hole

  • Damn that sucks, it just blows up when the video ends lol

  • Yeah cuz thats epic. ¬¬

  • You know you can break up the heater to fit it in the bottle easier

  • the old heaters work a lot better

  • Thanks for sharing, jzlACoSTE.

  • @jzlACoSTE Are you mentally handicapped?

  • @Supermassively Hahaha! I was like fourteen when posted that, I sounded so stupid. And no, I am not mentally handicapped, I think I should delete that.

  • its better if u cut open the pac then put the powder itself

  • yeah, look at my vid.

i did it like that and almost got myself owned lol

  • So cut it open and poor the stuff into a 20 oz?

  • You can or you can just stick the heater into a bottle with some water with out cutting it and pouring it in.

  • When Marines are on duty they use their canteens

  • Ahhh I remember these when I was a kid and my dad was in the Army.

  • i threw mine and it landed by my dads gas grill letsjust say the barbecue was rlly black

  • @bleachlover124the2nd That's because they paint grills black. This wouldn't turn anything black, genius.

  • The "food" itself in MREs probably doubles as an explosive material, as well as a drain cleaner and an engine degreaser. D:

  • the creamer is flamable

  • Open the packets, dump the magneisium powder into an empty bottle, then pour water in, put the cap on, shake and that gets you the best results. Testing many different types of bottles, the ones that works the best are the small bottles like the poland springs, or the price chopper desert spring bottles that come in packs of 30 or 24. They expand more creating more tention resulting in a bigger bang. The explosion sounds more like a granade rather than a gun which other bottles sound like.

  • Drano bombs put off materials that can burn you.

The MRE bomb is relatively safe by comparison. I love how loud they are.

  • are these thoughs army food heater things? cuz my friend was cleaning out his army stuff and gave me like 20 of them and i need something to do with them.

  • yes

  • i just did that i blew up likea 12elve guage put lemon juice

  • works alot better if you open 20 of them and put just the powder in it and put it in a 2 liter bottle and add a little water and close and then you get a nice "boom", or even better a heavy duty plastic water bottle (may be found in the camping section at like a walmart or something) then it will blow up =), ive made some that have blown craters in my yard =)

  • ahhh..the good ol days...nothing better than placing one of these filled to the rim of a 3 litre bottle....then placing it under your buddies bunk while sleeping...great effect. make sure to hide a camera.

  • Haha..

    Its not- *blow up* xD

  • Use to heating packs and if you want it to have the characteristics of a CS grenade get as many Tabasco bottles from your battles and put about ten of em in there you get the same kind of effect.

  • I tried making one of those but we only used one heating pack per bottle, perhaps I should use more then one per bottle?

  • yes. ive made them before. 5 is a good number for a bigger bang lol. my sergeant wasn't too pleased.

  • see what you do it tape 5 50 cord to the cap of the bottle and the heater.. so when you close the cap the heaters float right above the water.. and it activates as you throw it... hahah.. and use a canteen insead of a water bottle..

wayyyy more effective.. hahaha. -spc salcedo.

  • Put some airsoft pellets in the bottle for a little fun...that is until your Captain walks through the blast zone unknowingly.

  • The coffee creamer is flammable.

    Just to let you know.

  • Just to let you know.

  • @toddianuzzi ...really now...um yeah cool...

  • I cant believe you stopped while it was exploding

  • put the MRE heater in first then add the water

  • lol the unlimited possibilities to do with a MRE. i like to use water bottles instead of gatorade.

  • oh thats good. But why do they call the usaf panzies while navy is the off shore?

  • Ive made one and have been hit by one on my knee and it didnt feel good

  • trying to cram the whole heater in the bottle is stupid. You have to cut it open and pour the powder into a DRY bottle, then add water, cap & throw,

  • Doesn't work. You'll melt the bottle.

  • I have done it so many times, I think I'd know. You have a lot of free time on a two week FTX on Ft Hood. It works perfectly.

  • I was replying to a different comment. The MRE bomb shown in the video DOES work, but that is not what I was commenting on.

  • I KNOW... I was talking about cutting the MRE heater open. it does not melt the bottle.

  • Sorry, it melted it for me. Forgive me.

  • its cool

  • Universal military entertainment. Sometimes, we turn them upside down, and when the cap blows off, you have a nice rocket. Once, I took my BFA off, rammed a blank round nose first into the muzzle of my C7, and shot it at the bottle. That was fun.

  • you guys are sally's

  • ilearned this shit from my uncle he is a Vietnam veteran

  • my army reserve friend told me that if you add Tabasco sauce or some other hot sauce to it, it'll make one hell of a lung burner.

  • You guys are freaking cherries. That one wasnt bad for a gatorade bottle. Usually You cannot make a good MRE bomb with a palstic twist off bottle because the pressure just blows the cap off. The tabasco bottle and matches make a much better bomb that throws actaul shrappenel

  • That was cool now I have something to do with the Egg Omelet MRE next time I get one. Ohh and Dasuboot they use MRE heater for the filler in the bottle.

  • I agree that the omelet blows but it does have good sides.

  • What did ya guys in that bottle ?

  • It was the chemicals from the heater of an MRE, used to heat food for soldiers. It's a compound that reacts with water that creates an exothermic reaction, it throws off heat and produces hydrogen.
