Fear of unrest, fear of disruption, fear of rioting, fear of economical hardship, fear in its various forms is often an effective tool used by politicians all over the world to frighten the general public into giving up its basic rights such a the freedom of speech. When you give up your basic human right to speak up, the government doesn't need to worry about accountability or transparency.

But ask ourselves, given the size of our country and/or economy, can we afford any forms of political instability? Yes, a little bit of protest here and there will not do much. But where do we draw the line? Developed countries may have a booming economy with full human rights, but they have taken a long time.

Propaganda? i believe there are, but i also believe that in every country there are propaganda. so, whats th point arguing over that? i just think that th PAP had already did a good job and there are no need for a new party. If others think that Singaporean are afraid of th government. not really actually. there are no way to fulfill every Singaporean request. and if you see what th PAP really did over th years, i think Singaporean are not afraid but are grateful. PAP really did a good job.
