Actually the ghost pepper is not the hottest pepper in the world anymore and hasn't been for like around a year. The "Naga Viper" was the hottest(hotter than the ghost pepper). Now the "Trinidad Scorpian Butch T" is hotter than the "Naga Viper". Trinidad Scorpion Butch T recorded an impressive 1.45 million heat units on the scale which is slightly above the British Naga Viper 1.38 million. The ghost pepper messures at 855,000 - 1,041,427 SHU.
