I have never found any other game that trascends me into more fear and drama, for gods sake, the DRAMA ! xD We need more of that in our games and less random killing spree...
Ever played Heavy Rain? That game isn't like anything u will ever play. It gets really intense at points. Very good game, and if ur looking for Drama, oh it has it alright. If ur able to get pass the lengthy beginning, then it's an amazing game. if not then u r just impatient lol

That's the best thing about Akira's music. It makes u feel emotions that other music just can't come close to. I wish they made a Silent Hill game that asked you your greatest fears or biggest regrets at the beginning subtlety, so you didn't really know that your choices would affect the game. Then, the game would adapt to YOUR fears, and you could REALLY relate to it like James. But yeah that would take forever to make :DD
That does sound awesome, it would be the scariest thing ever. That would take a long time to make, but it would be so worth it. To me Silent Hill is all about a person's fears, u can add all cult stuff, but in the end it comes down to the persons fears.

This is why I like Silent Hill 2 the best, it's the most personal and you can understand James's frustration. I hope in Downpour it's about his personal life and they don't drag on the Alessa stuff :\
I kinda know how u feel. They need to find a way to balance everything, like make silent hill game with the cult, but everything is still personal. i think that's what they tried to do with Homecoming but they didn't do it so well.

That was the idea behind Shattered Memories, obviously it would take quite a while to create an engine that complex, not to mention all the different assets the game would need to accommodate everyone's fears/choices. Games are a LONG way away from that, especially if games like Call of Duty that stagnant the industry continue to be best sellers.

Someone pointed out that this Silent Hill is the only one that stands by itself, it doesn't need The Order, it doesn't involve anything but the main character, his fears, and his problems.

Beautiful music is what makes a horror game. One minute its complete horror then something happens and the music reflects the current situation eg - Resident evil 1's Moonlight sonata scene and.....this amazing piece of music

I've only played SH 1 and SH Homecoming, and i have to say, SH 1 is sooo much better than Homecoming, i really want to find SH 2 and SH 3 cuz they were made before everything went downhill. I really hope Downpour will be good, i want to play a next gen SH game that's good... by good i mean as good as the first three
Silent Hill Downpour is the newest one, it's suppose to come out sometime this year i think. There's one major downside to this Silent Hill, they're not going to have the same person that did the music for the other entries in the series. But i'm hoping that the actual game is fun, and scary.

And everything's so cold here and so dry and you want a drink of water and pray. but none will be forth coming. You have no hope and you have nothing but hope. Beautiful music is what makes a horror game. One minute its complete horror then something happens and the music reflects the current situation eg - Resident evil 1's Moonlight sonata scene and.....this amazing piece of music

Let's have a moment of silence for these most beautiful songs. These songs have achieved something much better than excellence. Let us not forget these songs, for they are stuck in our minds somewhere. Each instrument may represent a element, or something like that. They will burn in our heads. The person who directed this is still living, such a great thing. This song has changed my life, and I think it should do yours also. This song makes horror games look AND SOUND less horrorous.

Downpour should be fantastic,the guy doing the music is a well known composer for horror films.
They are also fixing some game mechanics that made the games less scary in recent times.
For example, a free moving camera, being able to look around you the whole time takes away from the "shit something could jump out any moment" factor.

I've only played SH 1 and SH Homecoming, and i have to say, SH 1 is sooo much better than Homecoming, i really want to find SH 2 and SH 3 cuz they were made before everything went downhill. I really hope Downpour will be good, i want to play a next gen SH game that's good... by good i mean as good as the first three

Silent Hill Downpour is the newest one, it's suppose to come out sometime this year i think. There's one major downside to this Silent Hill, they're not going to have the same person that did the music for the other entries in the series. But i'm hoping that the actual game is fun, and scary.

when i hear the piano strokes of this song, i think of all the mistakes i made in the past...When i see the flames, They prevent me from going back to correct my mistakes..Maybe this is why some memories hurt when they are remembered.
