  • yah…i did not do so well when i had my wisdom teeth pulled….when i was 'falling asleep' i remember thinking, "this is it---you might not wake up from this." and then when i was waking up, i had a panic attack that caused me to hyperventilate….NOT FUN!

  • Their doctor seems so nice! Mine was nice, but not that nice, wish he would have been though because it probably would have made the whole thing much easier!

  • now i'm scared.....:( I dont want my wisdom teeth pulled :(

  • Oh, good. They did laughing gas for Jill. I love that stuff.

  • what a good daddy

  • i wasnt knocked out when i had mine out. just numbed and tbh tha numbing was horrible.. felt as if my lips were down to my knees haha

  • @MizzChloeeMarieex Same here! lol

  • @nibblesxsips horrible isnt it? :)

  • 4 teeth is not that bad i had an infection in my jaw and had to get ALL mine pulled that was scary

  • @liltats1985 All your teeth!? omg ))):

  • @nibblesxsips Infection in my jaw

  • i feel so bad for jill:(

My doctors had to do me at the hospital and put me under nitrous oxide first.

  • AHHHH!!! WHY AM I WATCHING THIS!!! im gonna get my wisdom teeth out tomorrow!!! :S

  • Their Daddy reminds me of my Daddy, and that's a good thing. Makes tears come to my eyes see her hold on to him like that. Wish more girls today could trust their Dads like that.

  • jill freakin out was funny

  • I had mines taken out yesterday. My mouth is really sore and swollen. I'm glad they knocked me out, I had all four taken out. Normally I don't cry, but for some reason after the surgery I kept tearing up. LoL. I have stiches in my mouth. Hurts a little but the meds are helping.

  • stupid

  • bitch

  • I had my Wisdom teeth out on my 30th Birthday! I had to have them removed in the hospital and it was the only date available. All in all, it wasn't that bad!

  • She is SO high....

  • At least they had their supportive family with them,i had no one and i was scared....

  • I it not that bad. But after the surgery it hurts for 1 week.

  • gotta do this tomorrow....ughhh

  • And Jill wants to have lots of babies! Now THAT'S painful and scary!

  • I hate wisdom teeth!

  • i had my wisdom teeth taken out and i was knocked out

  • why did they know jana and jill out in different ways?

  • why do Jana and Jill have rings on their fingers as if they're married?

  • Comment removed

  • @marinka101 im pretty sure they are purity rings. i know for sure they aren't married

  • @marinka101

    Most likely they're "purity rings"

  • Jill should have gone first. It almost seems like torture making sit through her sisters opertion while all along hinking about what is about to happn.

  • @LeiLeiLancaster I guess cause she was busy having x-rays when Jana went into surgery they had to keep on track with the appointments. Maybe Jana had her x-rays on another day beforehand?

  • at 0:43, lol, poor Jana having that on national television!

  • I hate the sound of that stinkin' drill they use

  • i am almost 25 and still have not had mine pulled

  • I am Jana's age and don't have my wisdom teeth yet (I do have one that hasn't come in), but I've had cavity fillings. So far, every time I've had to have multiple shots because the novacaine wore off during the procedures. :/ (Like Jill, I have a slight fear of needles, but I try not to focus on it so much. It used to be worse when I was a kid.)

  • I WISH I could get rid of my wisdom teeth; they never grew in (I just counted and I've got 28 instead of the 'normal' 32) Good thing, too- my mouth is too small for the teeth there now. If they ever did grow in I'm willing to bet I'd need about EIGHT taken out and then braces put in. But orthidontia is CRAZY expensive (like $3000 for braces)! So as long as I can talk and eat I have to put up with crooked teeth.

  • i had mine taken out last year. i had two. i wasn't sleeping but i was numb. it didn't hurt at all.

  • wow...after my brother got his wisdom teeth pulled, he was cursing @ the dentist....haha o my

  • their father is so good with them all

  • I woke up crying and the tears didn't stop until almost an hour after surgery :) I don't even remember why I cried in the first place:P

  • I thought they always sedate you..

  • Getting your wisdom teeth taken out isn't a big deal....but I totally understand why she was so upset. I've had so many surgeries now that I don't even really think about it. My Drs told me I needed it, so I did it. I didn't really freak out but I totally understand why they did, especially Jill. It would be scary if you'd never had surgery before.

  • I noticed that Jill has braces. I wonder if that would bring more pain with the braces and have the wisdom teeth pulled out. (I'm asking this because I don't have braces.)

  • @tartans101 Maybe. If your wisdom teeth are big enough to push your teeth or something...but other than that I don't think so. As far as clean up & taking care of the wounds, yeah, it would be much harder than someone who doesn't have them. The cotton gets stuck between your brackets, wires, ect...

  • pray and cry is all you can do sometimes, Jill.. your braver then me you did it, I couldn't.

  • shes like huh... wha? Its sort of funny (not the pain part)

  • A poor Jill I think I would freak out to! But its really cute to see her Holding on to Jim Bob so tide! Normally see is so like a adult its really cute to see her like this, even do I feel sorry for her!

  • poor Jill;( i probably would hav cried too:) i luv the way Jill clings to her daddy wen shes scared. i do 2:)

  • I was excited to have mine out because I'm wierd and I like being put to sleep. When I am put to sleep I get some good rest unlike at night....

  • @ButterGinger Yeah, I feel the same way... They were actually quite lucky to be put under, my doctor would only give me a local for mine :L

  • I think it's so cute how the nurse is calling her 'Miss Jill' ^.^

  • My 1st wisdom tooth is just coming in, and I'm worried that I'll have to have them taken out. But I don't have to worry about that until all 4 are in.

  • i love how even tho she is 17 she still clings to her dad for comfort when she is scared

  • yeah i dont think i would want to remember that

  • omg was i the only one who had her wisdom teeth removed and wasnt nervous at all before the surgery?i was even happy coz the only thing i could eat was french fries for 3 days.yayy no school soo that's life!

  • What's the white thing on her? Glad they didn't give me that when I got my teeth out...But I don't get what the big deal is. The only thing that sucked was the pinch of the IV; I barely need pain medication and I was eating solid foods the same day.

  • I have never really understood the horror stories people tell about getting their wisdom teeth removed. It took 2 dental visits to remove my wisdom teeth, one for each side, and I was awake during both. Maybe it's just me but I only needed an ice pack and some tylenol to control my pain. The only "horror" I went through was having to see my dentist's drill and the fact that he kept pressing my nose.

  • aww poor jana , just watching her sitting up after she wakes up ... good things she got it over with..

  • lol...i had mine removed and i was awake. my mouth was numb but i was awake.

  • i hate needles as well :(

  • Why do both of the girls wear gold bands on the finger reserved for wedding bands?

  • @Sarah99ification they are purity rings... designed to say, "i'm waiting for the one God has for me." a lot of Christians have them... not the majority, but it isn't uncommon.

  • Still, with all the cotton balls in her cheeks, the pain, the chin wrapped up, the stitches... when she's asked, "are you okay"? she smiles... Beautiful Jana, such a sport!

  • @kevico2 She wasn't feeling anything at the time.

  • @kevico2 She's such a sweet girl but after surgery you can be kinda goofy. When I had all of my surgeries, my Dr's nurses all called me smiley [ before the whole miley-smiley thing ] because all I did was smile before the surgery and afterwards....even though I'd just had my back cut open. Lol

  • Jill should be happy. She had to get this done when she was 17. I have to get it done adn i am 15.

  • @LittleYoungEinstein you're actually lucky because it's better to do it when you're younger cuz your jaw hasn't fully grown yet so it's not as painful.

  • @LittleYoungEinstein i had mine out at 18 and Jana was 19

  • yeah they are terrified but at least their parents are there! when i had my operation (not wisdom teeth) i was meant to be third but they made me first and my parents werent there and i was so scared i felt sick. and then they put the anaesthetic in and i didnt know where my parents were and then the anaesthetic made my eyes go all woozy and then i couldnt breathe properly and it felt like my lungs were collapsing. now THATS terrifying!

  • I'm not sure I'd want to keep the dirty bloody teeth afterwards though.... blech

  • Jim Bob is such a good father.

The way he looks after Jill when she's scared about the surgery shows it.

  • Fyi people jill was only 17 when this happen and proably hadn't even had broken arm so it makes sence that she was terrifed

  • Why do people have to keep saying that Jana and Jill need to toughen up. Thats not nice. Why does it matter to you how they deal with the pain. How does it affect you... oh wait, It doesn't!!! Everyone gets through it differently!!!

  • @maggievp i get REALLY emotional when I am in pain. I totally understand where she is coming from.

  • Oh jill, suck it up. Everybody has their wisdom teeth out, it's really that not bad. I even had an allergic reaction and I still have had worse surgeries. And, for Jana, I would not want me being tripped out documented on television forever...

  • they're really freaking out about it, like when i got my teeth out they didn't sedate me or anything just a rly painful shot. it's really not that bad.

  • @siberchic yeah i had something removed from my theeth and the gave my laughing gas and i didn't feel a thing i had neck surgy a year ago and i didn't cry about it i think there babies

  • I know how Jill feels! I hate needles/shots, and pain. I had to get my wisdom teeth pulled too...i didn't have that big of a break down but i didn't want to do that!

  • well we know jill wont be having that many kids since she is afraid of pain and needles

  • its ok jill i don't like needles either i thought about giving blood at a blood donor center near me, but i chickened out. I don't think I can handle lying there with a needle stuck in my arm for like 15 mins or however long it takes for them to suck a pint of blood out of me.

  • I'm amazed that Jana is able to smile. A friend of mine got her wisdoms pulled and she complained of not being able to smile.

  • Poor Jill. I got my wisdom teeth removed, too. Only when I got braces, two years ago.

  • I cry when I wake up from anesthesia too.

  • this isnt bad i had only one tooth pulled out when i was 15 that was a year ago and i live in poland where they do it slightly differnetly then in the u.s. u feel true pain here lol

  • @Sany21 they don't numb you or anything?

  • Off-topic.. but something tells me that if Jana had gone to a regular public high school she would have been extremely popular with the male population..

    On-topic.. Jill's reaction isn't that unusual.

Some people are just deathly afraid of needles, dentists.. medical procedures in general.

She looks genuinely terrified there. She's actually shaking at one point.

Why didn't J'Bob tell the cameras to clear out?

  • Well, those Duggar girls had better toughen up - having wisdom teeth out is NOTHING compared to giving birth! And they're going to be doing lots of that once they're married off.

  • the extraaction must be horrible, so sorry for them.

    cause i like them.

  • TheCaliforniaPrinces, The duggars were making out just fine before they ever appeared on television. They own several commercial properties that they rent out. They're a wonderful family. So why don't you take your comments and put them were the sun don't shine!!!

  • The Duggars are so very awsome. I watch them on TLC every day. That's great news that Jana & Jill both got their wisdum teeth removed on the same day. I'm glad Jana was okay getting hers taken out. She was so brave. She had a big smile on her face when she was done. Jill was so scared that she was crying. I felt terrabe for her about how scared she was getting it done. Right after she was done, she continued crying. Luckly she was okay. Congrats to you Jana & Jill.

  • They didn't put those things in my mouth to hold my mouth open before they put me out for my wisdom teeth

  • poor jill i would do the exact same thing, i hate needles. pain blood, denists

  • Actually. my doctor told me my theet could stay in, but I wanted them out. So I brought this onto myself...

  • I feel soo bad for Jill....poor girl....ugh I am the exact same way when it comes to doctors and needles and pain and the whole nine yards....I absolutely hateeeee it and am terrified of it.

  • When I went to the dentist last year, they told me that my wisdom teeth won't come in until I'm 22 or 23 (I'm almost 20 now.)My mom and I saw them clearly on the X-ray but the dentist could tell by their position.

  • poor Jill! i almost cried/bolted when i got mine pulled... it was horrifying!

  • My best friend had all four of her wisdom teeth taken out last year, and after she woke up she was also crying. The doctor said that it was normal for the anesthesia to make you emotional for a little while right after the surgery. Although poor Jill was pretty emotional before the surgery as well :)

  • i was crying when i woke up from teeth being pulled i think it happens to everyone on anesthesia it stinks

  • I get such a kick out of Jill--"is there some kind of...exercise I can do to avoid this??"

  • I went for a wisdom teeth consult to see about getting mine out and I was Terrified!! I got to the office, started filling out the paperwork and when I realized they didn't take my insurance, I BOOKED!

  • @amanthainachinashop2 haha i remember signing the paperwork and my fingers were like trembling i was like trembling all over!

  • lol i love jill...pray and cry!

  • why do u have to have wisdom teeth pulled out and how can u not have it pulled out? i have a 2 teeth pulled out b4 but not wisdom. one was a tooth growing out on top of another and another was at the right side of my mouth (there was a bubble there)

  • most people have to have them out because they squish the other teeth together causing them to cross over. some people however dont have to and theyre just lucky!

i had all four of mine out but in two different lots because the dentist was worried about the healing. hurt like hell for a few days but you forget all about it after

  • i wanna get my teeth pulled out, rockin!

  • What did Jana do while Jill was having her teeth taken out?

  • Probaly in recovery with Jim Bob and Michelle

  • lol some exercise to do haha I wish!

Im 18 and mine just started growing out. I remember when one wisdom tooth was barrly gwowing out. I thought it was hard gum and then I realalized that it was my wisdom tooth. hah

i should get mine out while they are still small. May God be with me! ya

  • She was 17 at the time. I had my wisdom teeth taken out at 16, and I was just as scared. Like Jill, I had never had a medical procedure done before, and I also have a phobia of needles. The thought of being knocked out also terrified me. So I don't think her reaction was all that irrational.

  • no need to be harsh, if you've never had your teeth pulled out, then you don't know how horrible it is. if you had to have urs pulled out, i'm pretty sure you'll be scared.

  • BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH MS SARCIA..7 thumbs down again!! :)

  • i got 1 of my teeth pulled in preK

  • I had my wisdom teeth pulled a few days before this episode aired, Honestly I don't think I would have liked to seen this episode before i had it done, just because of them swelling and everything would have scared me, but i didnt swell! But seeing this episode after i had them out was very good because i knew exactly what they were going through!!

  • aww, poor jill. i understand how she feels. i too have had a big fear of needles and pain that comes from it, but i don't so much anymore.

it is scary thinking about stuff like that. what i do is just turn away and try to think of something else during the process.

  • It was Jana who said it, but yeah. I think they ask you questions just for reassurance.

  • do they wear purity rings? I noticed Jill is wearing a ring on her left hand and Jana had one on when she was playing the piano.

  • yes

  • yeah they get them when they "become a woman" they have this tradition of when it happens, michelle takes the girls out and buys the stuff they need and talks to them about it and then jim bob takes them out and talks to them about how they should be treated as women and then michelle and jim bob both give them a purity ring each.

  • @fountainpenuser Yes they do.

  • Um bad Idea for me to be eating dinner watching this! Yuck X's infinity! bloody teeth!!!!

    ew

  • jill's dad really cares about her.
