I liked this phone up until recently when I was in Itunes and a friendly little box said I should update my Iphone. I thought it was a good idea. I was a fucking idiot. The updating process caused a huge error and I had to restore my phone. I lost my whole fucking contact list, my pics, all my fucking apps. It was there in the beginning and apple just crippled it. Many people didn't know that ipod touch had bluetooth capability but it now will too with the update. The are adding the A2DP stereo bluetooth profile and file transfer. Iphone alread had bluetooth capability for hands free car/headphones.
The Camera far from SUCKS. The average phone has just a VGA camera. There are some smartphones that have higher resolution, but that does not mean the optics are betters. Unless it has a carl zeiss lens in a phone they pretty much all suck. Plus I have a digital SLR camera and don't care about any phone camera ATM IMO they are all crap even the lame 5 megapixel smartphones.

What do you mean it doesn't play video? I play videos all the time and even have my drv record some. Plus there are 3rd party apps that let you send mms messages. Replaceable batteries can be bought and you can replace them for under $50. Does your phone hook up to millions of accessories like the iphone/ipod (docks,clocks,car kits),the app store with 500,000 + apps? Or a 3d gpu on par with the powervr or an arm11 cpu? What about an os, browser, or multi touch dispaly the rivals the iphone?

Plus I forgot to put you can video record with Cycoder (which is FREE), MMS (FREE with SwirlyMMS), Copy/Paste (Clippy), etc. I had Windows mobile 6.1 with blackjack 2 and all the internet browsers sucked, the OS lokced up all the time, always had to kill processes, and you had to still pay for most 3rd party apps unless you were stealing them. On top of that the touch screen WM phones suck and you usually have to use a stylus, and the is no multi-touch screens like the iphone.

You have to jailbreak it. Search for it. Get MMS, landscape texting, easy tethering to use as a modem, customize EVERYTHING, plugins for safari, alternate web browsers, ability to play music and video not supported by the iPod app...the list goes on and on.

You really can't do anything without unlocking it. Even then there's not a whole lot of cool apps. If you aren't smart enough to unlock it then you are stuck with the limitations that apple gives you. You can't send MMS messages without third party apps. They don't make a cdma version so there's only two carriers in the country to choose from. Don't think I ever saw them use the keyboard. Probably because it SUCKS. Get a real phone cause I'm sticking with windows mobile until Android comes.

Actually, you're quite a bit wrong. Any phone is going to give you that much in a contract price, the N95 is actually more than that in Canada with most carriers. It doesn't have a hard drive, it has 8 gigs of flash memory, different. The 3G radio is FINE, AT&T has admitted that the problem lied in the fact that SO MANY PEOPLE bought an iPhone at once that it stressed their network, because in Canada we've been getting fine reception, among other places. It's carrier locked because Verizon
said Apple was trying to control the carrier too much, and now that it's so successful, I bet they regret it. It's only carrier locked in the US because AT&T made Apple sign a contract. Get over it, the iPhone 3G is better than any Nokia phone, and I work at a Rogers dealership.
Also, the 'flash playing' Nokia web browser may be able to play flash, but it also renders everything slowly and is a pain in the ass to use. Flash just slows things down, and a mobile phone should NOT use it, because it would make everything run at a crawls pace, plus it does not scale well at all.
I have a $200 3g Carrier unlocked, Voip, Flashplaying with and without Safari (safari flash plugin isn't great at the moment, but it works. Will be better soon.), Full HTML browser and email, GPS, Google maps with street view, WiFi, Easy tethering, Stereo bluetooth, access to THOUSANDS of free apps, etc, etc...with great reception...iPhone.

the only way you can get it with any other service provider, you would have to unlock it or buy it on ebay unlocked which honestly is very unlikely to happen because of the past experiences with the older iphone too many people unlocked their phones to use it with other carriers, since then the Iphone 3G creators have done miraculous things to create the phone but they have done everything that they could to make sure no one could jailbreak or unlock it. Windows mobile phones usually have more processing power and are more of a serious phone. iPhones will be the phones that celebritys and people that can't be bothered look for a phone, they just want the most popular, will be getting. They are fast as well but they are also a more commercial phone.

Anyway, all I want is a new phone, an Ipod which I've never had in my life which is pretty sad and i tend to get bored so on the bus the apps would come in good use.

But if you do not have AT&T another option is the Sprint Instinct which seems to be another touch screen phone which also has tv built into the phone, but idk about you, I honestly perfer the Iphone because it seems to be very modern and i think its hard to compare

What do you mean it doesn't play video? I play videos all the time and even have my drv record some. Plus there are 3rd party apps that let you send mms messages. Replaceable batteries can be bought and you can replace them for under $50. Does your phone hook up to millions of accessories like the iphone/ipod (docks,clocks,car kits),the app store with 500,000 + apps? Or a 3d gpu on par with the powervr or an arm11 cpu? What about an os, browser, or multi touch dispaly the rivals the iphone?

Plus I forgot to put you can video record with Cycoder (which is FREE), MMS (FREE with SwirlyMMS), Copy/Paste (Clippy), etc. I had Windows mobile 6.1 with blackjack 2 and all the internet browsers sucked, the OS lokced up all the time, always had to kill processes, and you had to still pay for most 3rd party apps unless you were stealing them. On top of that the touch screen WM phones suck and you usually have to use a stylus, and the is no multi-touch screens like the iphone.

You have to jailbreak it. Search for it. Get MMS, landscape texting, easy tethering to use as a modem, customize EVERYTHING, plugins for safari, alternate web browsers, ability to play music and video not supported by the iPod app...the list goes on and on.

1:A jailbroken iphone can do pretty much anything. The only limitations it has are the ones that apple forces it to have.
2:Why does everyone who doesnt have an iphone say the keyboard sucks. I have one. The keyboard is awesome.

You really can't do anything without unlocking it. Even then there's not a whole lot of cool apps. If you aren't smart enough to unlock it then you are stuck with the limitations that apple gives you. You can't send MMS messages without third party apps. They don't make a cdma version so there's only two carriers in the country to choose from. Don't think I ever saw them use the keyboard. Probably because it SUCKS. Get a real phone cause I'm sticking with windows mobile until Android comes.

Actually, you're quite a bit wrong. Any phone is going to give you that much in a contract price, the N95 is actually more than that in Canada with most carriers. It doesn't have a hard drive, it has 8 gigs of flash memory, different. The 3G radio is FINE, AT&T has admitted that the problem lied in the fact that SO MANY PEOPLE bought an iPhone at once that it stressed their network, because in Canada we've been getting fine reception, among other places. It's carrier locked because Verizon

Also, the 'flash playing' Nokia web browser may be able to play flash, but it also renders everything slowly and is a pain in the ass to use. Flash just slows things down, and a mobile phone should NOT use it, because it would make everything run at a crawls pace, plus it does not scale well at all.

the only way you can get it with any other service provider, you would have to unlock it or buy it on ebay unlocked which honestly is very unlikely to happen because of the past experiences with the older iphone too many people unlocked their phones to use it with other carriers, since then the Iphone 3G creators have done miraculous things to create the phone but they have done everything that they could to make sure no one could jailbreak or unlock it. the iphone is amazing, if your looking for a good phone i would recommend the phone for sure! although you may have trouble trying to get it don't give up the chance with this phone! I myself am waiting to get the iphone! But if you do not have AT&T another option is the Sprint Instinct which seems to be another touch screen phone which also has tv built into the phone, but idk about you, I honestly perfer the Iphone because it seems to be very modern and i think its hard to compare
