The video's got it right about Cox. Also, I know several folks who lost their jobs due to "restructuring". Yeah, sure. Didn't help that 2 were at the top of their pay scale and close to be being "tenured". Another friend had worked there for 18 years! Heard of one who was handicapped. Great employees. I have made it my goal in life to, whenever I am in a group, in town, etc., tell at least 3 people of the injustice of it all. Cox employees---don't get comfortable. Any one of you could be next.
As a cox employee, I can say that we are treated very well. I have the best benefits and wages I've ever had. Cox employees refuse the union, not the management. A union vote was administered in one of our systems and our employees said no. I love my job and my company, and I don't see how a union can make a great thing better.
@redsexzie Cox has been accused of showing anti-Union films at employee meetings. I'm sure Cox treats management well, but they are abusing low ranking employees by forcing mandatory overtime especially on days off, stealing vacation days from employees who refuse to work mandatory overtime and preventing employees from using vacation time on certain days. Time Warner Cable has been accused of this too.
Wow. I helped do a recruitment video for the IBEW about 16 years ago, after I was assured that the IBEW *never* went on strike (or I wouldn't have worked on the ad.) This was before they went on strike, of course.
Choice is the essence of freedom. People should be able to choose whether to be treated by cattle by their employer, or by their union. One gives them money, the other takes it.
