Jackie is soooo AMAZING! By far my favorite Elphaba that I have seen. I got to meet her and she is very nice also, she will take the time to meet her fans even though she is one of the last people to leave and does so much work. However when I met the girl who played Glinda and the guy who played Fiyero...they seemed kind of stuck up and mean...so I love that Jackie is so chilled and nice! YOU ROCK JACKIE BURNS!!!!
@abcxyzcrap although Jackie was good, Idina Menzel is amazing! she was the original Elphaba and no one will ever sing defying gravity or no good deed as well as she did!
@8euqinimod Ummm. You must have not seen Shoshana Bean's Defying Gravity? Or Eden Espinosa's No Good Deed? Because if you had, you wouldn't say that. Idina is okay. But every single video or audio I've seen of her live, they've paled in comparison to Shoshana or Eden. Let's get real.
Jackie, Idina, Willemjin, and Eden!! Those are mine. This is the first time I've heard Jackie and she's already made my top four! I got goosebumps so badly it's not even funny.
Jackie and Idina are my 2 favorite Elphies! I thought nobody could ever be as good as Idina, but then i saw Jackie on broadway and OMG! SHe was un frikken believeable!
Just saw her on Broadway... I AM IN LOVE WITH WICKED NOW!!!!! Everyone in their right mind should see this play and it's ending soon so go get a ticket already!
She's so amazing and I want to know how at around 2:12 when she falls I know it's part of the show but she like fell back usually they just slowly lay down but I could never do what she did wow luv her SOO much she ROX on broadway now
I've seen the Broadway and tour productions many times, and the majority of the tour stages do not allow for the trap door to be put in to allow for the rising up for NGD. Elphaba's running on does not have the same effect as the rise up from the floor, but it's their only option, really. :)
@Glinny821 Not talking about the hydraulic lift in defying gravity. She's suppose to come up rather than enter (kinda hard to explain. Just watch one of the Broadway Elphaba's singing this song).
@Janellelynnmayo I've seen the Broadway and tour productions many times, and the majority of the tour stages do not allow for the trap door to be put in to allow for the rising up for NGD. Elphaba's running on does not have the same effect as the rise up from the floor, but it's their only option, really. :)
@Glinny821 The opening scene with her, when she sings "Fiyerooooo!" she's supposed to rise up from underneath the stage. Instead, she ran in from the right side of the stage.
I saw her in Fort Lauderdale with Amanda Jane Cooper..... She's so amazing!!! The amount of talent she is is almost inconceivable! I would give anything to see her as Elphaba on Broadway!!!
@BrickChick90 me too! just saw them the other night. all I can think of is how I wish I was back at the theater watching it all over again! A-maz-ing! :D
She reminds me of Alexia from London actually, who is my favorite -- I'm looking forward to seeing her now. After seeing NYC's rendition with Mandy Gonzalez and being disappointed hopefully this will be better when they come to DC because no one so far has lived up to my standards!
I just saw Jackie about 4 days ago and she BLEW MY MIND with her talent....she is incredibly gifted and I think she's the best for the role of Elphaba with her creativity and style! I can't wait to see what she does in the future!!
@kateashbrook Me too! Last Saturday. This scene in particular. Unreal. Anyone know why she didn't shoot out of the floor for her entrance like the others I've seen?
@VocalEdgeTV This performance is in Orlando - not all the National Tour stages are equipped with a trap-door in the floor. The bigger broadway stages have them built, but this was a five-week run. It would have been far too much effort and money to build the rising platform for such a relatively short run. She can still fly in Defying Gravity, though, because that's a portable machine that is above the stage. It isn't built into the floor/theatre.
im convinced that she could sing that song all the way though without any mic and still be heard by the person furthest in the back. shes got a heck of a powerhouse voice! still, i wish she would stop doing that "AH!" at the end of everything she says
@suki3275 - Agreed. What is with her "AH!" at the end of every line. It really grates on the listener. Hopefully she doesn't pull that during her performance at the Kennedy Center. Many fans will be quite unimpressed. I must agree she does have some "comfort" notes where she belts and sounds great!
@chris2lm About the "ah" thing. I didn't even notice it till you pointed it out, but now I cant get it out of my head. xD. I think its kind of like how SJB kinda says "defying" as "duh-fi-ying". But damn Jackie is a powerhouse with a beautiful voice.
Jackie is amazing. I know there are other great singers, but her voice is jaw dropping fantastic! I saw her last evening in Orlando. Her power and emotion is at a level very few singers can hit.
This was my very favorite song she did when I saw her... Better than Defying Gravity, even! She just put so much emotion and power into it. You can just see that she's falling apart at the seams by this point - especially when she falls after the 'Fiyero' part.
uugggh, I wanna see Jackie SOOOOOO bad! But when the tour comes through my city, it will be Anne Brummel with the 2nd national tour :( which isnt bad, but I'd prefer Jackie
@nicoleparker3wicked Don't worry, Jackie is great, yes, but Anne is too! I saw Anne last summer when she was still a standby, and she's gotten even better since then! The show itself is still great, no matter who plays the lead! I hope you enjoy it ^_^
She was the Elphaba when I saw Wicked on broadway last month. Her voice was amazing!
