Jesus Christ Cedric's voice SUCKS ass. HE RUINS EVERYTHING. Every single fucking note is out of tune. If they could only take it the fuck easy and pay attention to the sound they're trying to make, like Juan the bass player or drummer, or keyboardist is doing, then maybe they would be quite possibly one of the most epic bands to ever exist. But a shit performance like this from Omar and Cedric just ruins every hope of them having any longevity on the live front. Cedric's GOTTA GO.
@CristiaanC Dude, are you stupid? Cedric is one of the most fantastic and creative vocalists of the last decade, and has a unique stage presence. Incomparable, even with the typical tune.
@VPLoki His stage presence portrays that of chaos, lack of control and lack of order, the complete opposite impression that is given when you listen to their albums. Their music is extremely complex and intricately ordered and organized. If they had the discipline and maturity of some of the great Jazz musicians, they would be seen as Gods. But running around like a bunch of undisciplined children is absurd, especially when you can't execute (vocally) what you've recorded.
@fetteshice Thank you for having an insight that apparently is not very common amongst other viewers here. It is sad, and worst of all true, but when the standard is set at such a low level, and mediocrity is seen as quality, the motivation for improvement disappears. Thanks again for realizing what I'm saying.
@OHollowTimes Think what you want; I'm a classically trained pianist, and I've studied at Julliard and the Aaron Copland School of music. A large part of the curriculum is sight singing, with emphasis on notation and composition. I admire their creativity and I can agree with you on one thing; on the album, his voice is fantastic, but live, it is severely out of tune. They have to calm down. It diminishes the level of professionalism they should be portraying. Cedric's gotta GO.
@CristiaanC YOU suck ass. Try singing like him then bitch about it. You wouldnt know talent if it sat on your face. Leave Cedric alone and get the fuck out... Seriously.
cool sound...but i saw them at arco in Sac and it pains me to say...they sucked...they didn't sound good...probably cuz arco is one big echo chamber and concerts suck there. But Cedric sounded like shit at arco. When System of a Down played after them...they sounded great, Serg sounded wonderful that night.
@Mirada84 I don't doubt it man, from what I see here, and when people think this is an epic performance, I can't imagine what a bad day looks like for Cedric.
@CristiaanC I agree with you, but their are some instances when his singing is just so good. I've been singing and learning music since very young, and though I'd say im a decent singer, I would imagine anything Cedric produces is hard to reproduce, Alot of things he sings are in the right key but just the wrong notes, when its so High even for a tenor i think its hard to "remember" where your notes are, but in recent years he has improved and become a bit more stable.
@CristiaanC I don't believe they rehearse a lot either, at least from the interviews I've seen so Cedric might not even practice singing often. I can't really attack them though even though they like the fans they say anything they create is purely for their enjoyment and if people happen to like it then its just a plus for them too. , i see they take pride in their music but if they are off they don't really "care", sorry for the rant lol, I'm a bit high right now.
I saw these guys with my now wife and my father-in-law in Orlando's house of blues... we were right above the drummer.... holy shit it was awesome and loud!

@ninjawannabe44 It's truly sad that you even reply to my coment, especially after I stated that it was meant to the people who are races fags. So with that being said, I have come to the conclusion that thats exactly what you are. Not only that but if that's how you feel then why are you listening to The Volta? They stand for peace and love for the most part. You're more than likely a person with no life, just looking for any chance to argue with another person. Your pathetic & naive.Grow up kid

@TheVintagemario i've decided as well, i will pay any amounts of money to go to a show this tour. i have a feeling they might not be together too long after this tour to be honest
It's PITCH CORRECTION, stop saying auto-tune. It's become so bastardized. Every band, whether you like to believe it or not, uses pitch correction in the studio.
@sonetlumiere85 i do that same thing all the time its a digitech whammy set on 2 oct up then into a line 6 delay unit on auto volume delay with the mix set to 100 percent fun for hours!!
what effect did he use on intro??

It's PITCH CORRECTION, stop saying auto-tune. It's become so bastardized. Every band, whether you like to believe it or not, uses pitch correction in the studio.

What's the guitar effect used at the beginning? seems to prolong or extend the notes played in a high pitch...
