@dreamerboy84, the Continental Congress made Franklin sole diplomat to France, a.k.a. they were kicking Adams out of his job in France. John was too honest to be a good diplomat and he wasn't as conceding a negotiator as Franklin. He ruffled a lot of feathers at the French court, so Congress thought it best to send him elsewhere. Poor John!
John Adams my 7th cousin was kind of a jerk, and was really weird at times. Bens a more distant realtion but he was better liked. Sam dressed like a scarecrow and didn't do well at beer making. Ben had lots of women in his time and thats well known. He was always ready to party.... An thats the truth.
@progressiverebel .....How could you know him?Do you mean John,on 86th Street ? He must be 65 or so,it being 2011.He was my first "best friend",I had a crush on Audrey.
That secretary, Mr. Edward Bancroft, was a double-agent!
He was spying simultaneously for the Americans and the British while he was in Paris working with Franklin and Adams! His role was not confirmed (though some suspected him) until the late 19th century, when British diplomatic records were opened to the public.
Assuming this scene actually occurred, magine the reaction of his British liason when he told them this story!!!!!
@zbt518, wow! How cool, I didn't know that! Makes sense though, considering there were so many double-agents in France spying on the Americans at that time. It's a wonder how Mr. Adams and Franklin got anything done with so many eyes watching them. xD Thanks for the comment! :)
@Cobbledstories Especially after chewwing John up and spitting him out into the streets. Though it was for the best, John is pretty much a humble meglomaniac. Like Hitler with a soul, consious and high morale value. Not a good in the french court when you're trying to woo them into military favors.
I love how that little guard/servant/lackey dude is as flipping out like "NOOOO YOU CAN'T GO IN THERE HE'S DOING AN EXPERIMENT!" And then LMAO at John's face when he see's frankling in the bath tub
lol

Ironic that Franklin, "The Prototypical American" was such a playboy when Washington, "The Father of His Country" was probably sterile.
