personally i think akatsuki makes shippuden better than the first series (Naruto). its always a really good fight when they attack and they show how much stronger Naruto has become. if u think about it, nearly every akatsuki has killed somebody important. Hidan and Kakuzu killed Asuma. Pain kills Jiraiya. And the other members all kill jinchūriki so that they can take other world.

ya this is one of my general complaints too, it seems like this team should have inflicted the most damage of any akatsuki except pain or tobi of course, but it seems like they were beaten so easily like brushed off the shoudler or something...

but when you think about it they did kill the two tailed, asuma, chiriku, and 3 (yes 3) villages FULL of people

so in the end they did end up doing some heavy damage but i think the creators just did a poor job of displaying that damage

it was pretty much just implied from showing random scenes of them walking into a village or w/e, but in all reality they are the best two-man cell in the akatsuki, they truly work as one and if it werent for naruto killing off kakuzu i think he would have won and went back to hidan and sewed him back together after shika buried him

Kakuzu and Hidan are prime examples of why the akatsuki are a "monstrous" team and should not have been stopped so easily. Not only are their skills top notch, but the music themes as well as true art are enfluenced by them. Monstrous team as in Hidan = Death / Kakuza = Viral Infested Host or Ancient Alien / Itachi = Vampire / Sasori = Evil Spirit or Ghoul / Dederia... you all get the idea..
