  • I think that, at least the majority of people in 'power', who are opposed to gay marriage or gay people generally - they dont really care, they're just filling up the headlines so we dont find out that theyre taking our money. Either that or they're queer as FOLK. If I was pres, I wouldnt give a damn and let em have a ball, pun intended. I dont fuckin care at all.

  • completely agree mate, well said!!

  • I follow the exact same logic here. I'm a religious person, so I have certain beliefs. But those beliefs shouldn't enter into the discussion when it comes to a civil act. Separation of church and state - give them the rights and let's move on.

  • In Australia they have civil unions, but it's silly to deny someone the right to get married.

  • Right on bro.... plus with the economy the way it is, I think the city/county governments could use the extra money that they get from the marriage license fees. ;-)

  • I stayed common law for few years then got married and it doesn't make me any different from you and Bobbi, just a piece of paper and some legal stuff. And when it went wrong big legal stuff (not my fault.). Is there a backlash over there as it's not like you to do a rant, must have really annoyed you.

  • word

  • Good rant.

It really bugs me because my religion allows it so the government is recognizing one religion's idea of marriage but not mine, or at least not all of mine.

And I also go with the next up on the suggestions for this vid, that separate is not equal. We've tried that already. If they try "civil union" it will not be equal.

  • @Myk63 I agree separate is not equal but the government cannot make other church's change what they believe...I think if you can find a church that WILL marry you as a gay couple you should be able to do so!

  • @EndlessGrind78 Definitely, no church needs to be forced to do anything. But if the name isn't the same it would be easy to miss one of the 1500 or so marriage benefits writing new laws for civil union. Recognizing same sex "marriage" equally requires one law.

  • Randy, me and you are on the exact same page with this - great vid

  • @whisperingdoom thanks man!

  • it's the religious right's way of declaring that 'they don't have the right to NOT be offended', and twisting that into some 'freedom of religion' argument. They also usually take some smug 'we know best for you sinners' attitude that really peeves me.

  • @whisperingdoom all I got to say to them is "Live and let Live"...bottom line...pisses me off too and I am a straight guy..WTF???....LOL
