very nice, my friend! you've captured the mitchell vibe. fast hands. lots of finesse and prowess of course! thanks for posting. love all your drums' tones... and the cymbals - great sonic combinations!. i really appreciate what you are doing. best of luck to you. regards - jim
that was sick! im only 23 and been playing for 8 years but mitch mitchell is one of my favorite drummers of all time! you are dead on man and kick some major ass!
this is the same snare Ludwig Supraphonic 400 that Mitch had used alot live & on recordings. I see pix of him with the same snare with his Premeire & Ludwigs sets. in the early days..Mine is from the year 1968.thanks for watching
Having grown up with Hendrix's music while he was alive, I am still amazed when I have read over the years some sage saying Mitch's drumming was just average, or not fully up to his Jimi's work. Your video clearly dispells such rubbish.
You nailed it, brother. What a fine tribute to Mitch. Your meter stayed perfect all the way through, and that''s no mean feat. Most drummers speed up when they cover Mitch Mitchell's breaks.
yeah.. all your videos are amazing, thanks, mitch and hendrix together were awesome!!!!!! Probably you know how to play the guitar too, don't you? At least a little...
Man! You really understand (and play like) MM. Besides that: you feel the interaction between JH and MM. You obviously are one with the guitar lines. You must be a joy to play with. I think I have seen all your clips and enjoyed them all! What fun to look, listen to you.I celebrate your skills.
No complicated technical stuff from this side, it is all about music (isn't it?).
Funny that you said that...no these are Ludwigs from the yrs 1968-1972.The snare is a Ludwig Supraphonic.I do own chrome over wood Slingerland Drums & they still sound great as well...Thanks for watching...
Sturty....you completely rock dude! Love the vintage kit and style. EXCELLENT WORK! May I pick your brain on your set up? Like....what are the mics....what are you running them through....what kind of reverb....and do you use compression? Thanks man! RAWK ON! ~G.
Sorry late getting back...Ok ,Mics are:Kick:AKGD12,Toms & Floor Toms:Sennheiser 421& Shure SM57Snare:Shure SM57,Hi Hat:Sony ECM22 Condenser,Overhead:Shure 57 & Samson CO2 Condenser.Reverb is from a Alesis Microverb. This went into the mixer part of a Tascam Portastudio & out to my Panasonic HVX Camera../Anything else I record/my songs etc.goes to my Hard Drive Recorder ....Thanks for watching..!!...
Oh ok...well there not..Tama..I had a Tama Superstar set(red)in the past. These are Ludwigs. They were once white marine pearl ,but I had them recovered to solid white almost 25 yrs.ago.The snare is a 1968 supraphonic. The rest are from the yrs '68-71'
Hey thanks my friend..I saw Mitch last year @ a show in CT/USA,he was great..But on top of playing & being influenced by him ,way back in 1970 I met him as he was sitting in a Limo across from Madison Sq. Garden/NYC prior to there concert..that was such a thrill @ 17 yrs.old..
