    Chris

  • Any chance i can have the tabby ! whoops i mean the tabs ! or would you know where i can require them, cheers and brill guitar friend

  • great man!!!! it sounds like if it was played by Big Bill Broonzy! same touch!

  • I've been looking for Andy Cohen for twenty five years, so please Don't go the F anywhere. Listened to Andy and Joe LaRose at the Green Dragon Inn on Blackhawk Island in the middle of a long Wisconsin winter and have never forgotten it. That's about how long I've been looking for their rendition of "Hillbilly Express" also. I had a cassette tape of it recorded from "Simply Folk" back then, it was amazing, but finally gave up the ghost. Anybody, does it still exist somewhere?

  • nice cat and music

  • shred them licks fella,exellent!

  • yyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh that's so country dude!!

  • OMG ITS GARFIELD

  • listen to what the man said - as performed by rev gary davis. beautiful replication. Great to see the technique behind the music.

  • that not maple leaf rag? but still awesome

  • that was some awesome pickin, but i didnt really hear the maple leaf rag.

  • That's some nice picking, but I'm not sure what you're supposed to be playing.

  • you sir can get the fuck off of the internet!

    great playing

  • Great !

    Rob

  • Great picking.

  • Great work. I met you at the Mississippi John Hurt festival in 2007 and you did you Gary Davis renditions there

  • Fine job, a nice bookend to Adam Fulara's clip, which linked to this one.

  • reverend gary davis is wonderful!

i'm glad someone played his version up on youtube.

    thanks alot man!

  • Wow! Just a joy to listen and watch a master at work.

  • THE CAT!!!

  • Great Job! Very close to the Reverends!

    Did your cat film this?

  • Great job dude! I love hearing variations on great songs like this. It makes me smile when I see people leave comments on stuff like this that say "THIS ISNT MLR!"

  • well played mate. that's one unusual guitar you've got there,

    Michael Berk

  • The best part was the cat.

I honestly don't really hear the MLR in all that...

  • nice cat

  • MEOW...

  • He's a-pickin and I'm a-grinnin.

  • Great Job Andy!! I have a cd by Andy doing all Rev Gary Davis tunes on the Riverlark lable, it's really great, one of my favorites. If you like this I suggest you get a copy. Thanks for posting the video

  • He plays in the style of Rev. Gary Davis who interpreted the piece.

  • I have to say it is nice playing but...but for the description and your comment at the end, I would not have recognised it as Maple Leaf Rag either...see the earlier comment.

  • Hmmmm, the cat didn't move! Great pickin' though, loved it!

  • that honestly doesn't sound like the Maple leaf rag by scott joplin

  • He's playing the arrangement of the late finger-picking great, Reverend Gary Davis, not Joplin's original. Interpretations like this are a fresh change from Joplin's already solidly-constructed original. *****

  • I love this style. What in the world kind of guitar is that? Are you Robert Johnson??

  • Good Pickin'

  • Sounded alot like the lat reverende. Liked it alot. You didn't play it too fast

  • Nice rendition! Fiendishly difficult but you make it look easy.

  • heh I think the background noise just adds to the song...
