I must ask: This show is called "16 bit gems" so.... When you run out of obscure-yet-awesome 16 bit games.... What will you do? Move on to 32-bit gems? Or go back to 8-bit gems? Or even rename it "Retrogaming gems" and cover virtually everything? Just curious =3
I really enjoyed watching this (and all your other) 16 bit gems videos, but I have one thing to say. *Flame shield ready*
I actually find magirock useful at times. In bloody mary's castle, I found magic doing a LOT of damage to the heavily armored warriors that wander around. The light ring especially. I will admit that unless you play like I do, normally underleveled, you won't find yourself having any problems.
Oh, and for those newbies out there. TAKE NOTES. Those stop overs get confusing!
Terranigma is the greatest SNES RPG in my opinions. Great review. I had no idea that it wasn't released in the United States. This game was fantastic. :D
@XxKorruptxSoulxX i agree terranigma is a work of art ^_^ i really wish square-enix would re-release terranigma on the american wii virtual console gamers today need to know about this overlooked classic
@heerogunkenobi I agree and disagree. If you would mean for them to redo the graphics and such- then no. If it was more like a DLC for like PS3, I'm all for it. Up to Square-Enix though. They seem to be selling out to 360 users lately (Not a 360 fan :/ )
@XxKorruptxSoulxX actully i dont mean square-enix should redoing the graphics and such on the wii that's not what i meant what i meant was put the orginal snes version of terranigma on the wii virtual console i lived in the united states which i never get the chance to play the game when it first came out i only play it on a emulater you know what i mean wii virtual console dont you by the way where do you live in eroupe which you get the chance to play terranigma back in the day
@XxKorruptxSoulxX actully i didnt say that square-enix should re-do the graphics and such on the wii that's not what i meant what i meant was square should re-release the original snes version of terranigma on the wii virtual console you do know what i mean wii virtual console dont you
thank you so much for having all your videos on your website for stream. For some reason "sony music entertainment" denies me acces to part 3 of your terranigma review , saying it is not available in my country (which is germany).
@windfisch Not a problem. Though I understand YouTube is the best option for a lot of people, the freedom of being able to host the videos on our own website ensures that there's always a way to see our content. I appreciate your seeking us out, and thanks for watching.
Your 16 bit-gems series is nice! The humour is great and I love it how you analyze certain aspects of the games. Most people talk about Secret of Mana, FF VI, and CT when it comes down to 16 bit RPGs, but I honestly think that "underdogs" like SoE, Terranigma or Lufia II are much, better. So yeah, keep up your good work!
Btw, I would strongly suggest to review Lufia II (for it's puzzles, the secrets, the ending) and Phantasy Star II oder IV (for being so different than most other JRPG).
Nintendo doesn't even know what sells anyway, Hard to say if Nintendo should sell games that would sell well coming from the gamer stand point. Considering that many people like games that don't sell well at it's time of release. I remember watching a Ranma 1/2 Hard Battle trailer in the local Funcoland however, the show wasn't all that popular at the time of it's release in NA. Since you had to import that movies from Canada for $30,/2 episodes. Now the game would sell better due to dvds.
Neotokio??? Is this Evangelion or what???

Yomi is also the word Dave Sirlin uses to describe the concept of reading an opponent's mind in Street Fighter.
