  • God let 6 million of His own "chosen" people be exterminated in the Holocaust. What chance do you think we have.

  • @N3CR1S God has something to say about this in his book. Let me paraphrase...I believe it goes something like this: I was there when the heavens and the earth was formed, where were you?

  • Muito linda essa musica!!!

    sem duvidas parabens!

  • HEY EVERYONE SUBSCRIBE TO MY PAGE OR JUST STOP BY TO LISTEN TO SOME SONGS ON MY PLAYLIST,I FINALLY MADE ONE. 80+ SONGS....JARS OF CLAY AND MORE^_^ HAPPY MEMORIAL DAY AND IF YOU WAN,YOU CAN ADD ME AS A FRIEND.I DON'T MIND:)

  • I like Jars of Clay based on the nerits of their music AND the fact they seem to know just how to put life experiences into amazingly potent and poetic form...tapping into the human need for God. We may deny we need Him...but deep down it's in our core...

  • I know the truth. I know God and Jesus as my personal saviors. How do I continuously come back to feeling this way? Why is it so hard to hold onto what I know and NOT find myself back in the same spot of feeling so alone and asking "where are you?". This song speaks so much to me right now. I want back . . . I know God is there. ..I know he hasn't gone anywhere. . .but where have I gone?

  • @chazday03

God's got you. I've felt this way before too ... like He abandoned me, like He didn't care. But he does. Surrender in obedience and worship and you will find Him

  • @uvrytrffyjubntibrtfb He will and you have it even when you cannot feel it- I promise.

  • such a powerful song. theres always someone who is crying out "where are you?" sometimes it seems that God can be so far away.

  • @uvrytrffyjubntibrtfb haha,couldn't think of a screen name?:)

  • the question I ask God everyday!! when u r dealt a shitty hand any betting man will fold and i folded my cards years ago. trying to do right only brought me heartache.

  • @101dumars God promised that He would not forsake us, not that doing right would be easy. In fact, there are a lot of places in the New Testament where Jesus warns us that it's going to be very difficult, but He reminded us to remember that He suffered and was tempted, also.

I'm praying for you, though, because I know that it's hard. Trusting is hard, and learning to follow God in hope is hard, and I haven't nailed down either yet and won't claim that I have.

  • I love Jars of Clay, but it's almost too hard to listen to them since losing my faith.

  • @emasters7 What happened?

  • @rth4tyn6n I just realized that I don't believe any of it. I'm a scientist and I require evidence to accept something as fact. I don't doubt my convictions, but I do miss being a Christian for a number of reasons.

  • @emasters7 sometimes there is just no evidence. you just have to take it by faith. thats what Jesus wants....is for us to just believe.

  • @VideoKiwi2008 If only it were that easy and if only I were that naive.

  • @emasters7 I think with you stating that you do not believe any of it followed by stating that you miss it. . .there is still something in your heart telling you that sometimes. . .physical evidence is not real proof. Real proof is that feeling that envelopes your entire body, KNOWING that God is there and He loves you, will take care of you and beckons you to Him. That to me beats out any physical evidence of anything. Looking at yourself in the mirror is all the evidence you need.

  • @emasters7 I am also a scientist. You need evidence? It surrounds you!!! You are just too myopic. I can produce a Mathematical PROOF for God's Existence. The proof establishes His Existence beyond ANY REASONABLE DOUBT. The quest of the Age of Reason has been REALIZED. What do you know about Probability? What do you know about Proof by Contradiction? This is way too easy. The chance that the Universe was created by chance is an infinitesimal. Thus it was created by design inferring a Designer.

  • @emasters7 Now take that chance and multiply it by the chance that a Planet forms in the Goldilocks zone of Orbitals. For our Solar System that is one in eight. Let assume our system to be average. What is the chance that an advanced life form develops technology to be able to communicate...The Drake Equation gives us an approximation of that answer. It is estimated that one out of ten stars are able to have Planets that are able to support life.

  • @emasters7 Now I did not go into the rest of the parameters for the Drake Equation as that is unnecessary. Let's just consider the three parameters that I picked out. So the chance that there is a planet in the Goldilocks zone that was able to produce DNA is 1/10 times the quantity1/8 times the quantity 1/10 raised to the 16th power. The answer is 1.25 times 10 raised to the 18th power. and multiply it to this product the new product is even closer to zero or closer to the improbability

  • @emasters7 This is the same probabilistic Mathematics used in a courtroom today for DNA identification or Fingerprint identification. It estabilishes, BEYOND ANY REASONABLE DOUBT, the identity of the person who left the forensic evidence. If the Universe was created by design then there must be, by inference, a DESIGNER, and that Designer is God Almighty. I can prove Jesus and the Word of God using the same scientific methodology.

  • @emasters7 In the Eighteenth Century the Great Philosophers created the Age of Reason to determine if God exists or that He does not exist. They yearned to settle that question once and for all. They failed to identify the proper variables and lacked the Mathematical understanding of Probability. They knew of Proof by Contradiction as they have used that for centuries to prove many theroms. Today I publish this answer for the first time.

  • @emasters7 I have NOT found a similar argument online. I have not read a similar argument. Josh McDowell used a similar argument in Evidence That Demands a Verdict for his proof that Jesus is the Christ and that the prophecies fulfillment proves that the Bible is God Inspired. Yet Josh failed to prove God's existence using facts outside the Truth of the Bible. Using facts outside of the Bible I proved God's existence. The Bible proves Christ as Josh McDowell is correct in this approach.

  • @24kGoldenRocket I'm not going to argue the existence of a deity with you on this forum. It's truly not the right place for that sort of thing.

  • @emasters7 I sincerly hope that you read what I have written. There is an infinitesimal chance that the Universe was created by accident. Thus there is an overwhelming chance that the Universe was created by design. The Mathematics of Probability describes this truth beyond a REASONABLE DOUBT. Therefore it is REASONABLE to believe in God and UNREASONABLE to not believe in God. I trust that you understand that scientists use REASON and LOGIC in their hypothesis and theories. Are you a scientist?

  • @24kGoldenRocket You truly dont understand probabilities at all.

According to your own argument, if you take a handful of salt and then throw it into the air and then start to check how each grain landed, you will soon come to the conclusion that the probability of they landing as they did is verry close to zero. In that case, would you make the same conclusion as you did here? That you obviously did not throw those grains at all, and that someone must have "designed" them on the ground?

  • @N3CR1S that is totally different to the fine tuning argument.

Throwing grains of salt into the air and observing the probability of them landing that way is irrelevant, as their lack of functionality hasn't changed.

A more accurate example would be throwing all the parts of a car into the air and observing that they landed in such a way that you had a complete fully functioning car. Even the fuel had landed inside tank and the ignition turned and started the car.

  • @MeTolerateYou 1

Apparently you failed to see that i was not suggesting the correct way of doing it, i was pointing out the misstakes in your way of doing it. you making a better example of your misstakes is irrelevant.

Ofcourse, both examples are completly wrong. They both demonstrate how you, yes you, look at the probability of a specific outcome and then say "well, that is impossible", when it clearly already happened.

  • @MeTolerateYou 2

a more correct way of phrasing your "car example" that points out the difference in your reasoning and scientific reasoning would be pointing at a complete car, whos pieces had previous been thrown into the air and then landed in the precise order needed to form a fully functionall car.

  • @MeTolerateYou 3

Still, that is not how we understand it at all. Infact, your "car example" is as far from how we understand it as it could possibly be, and you show this by wanting to have that example as impossible and improbable as possible.

Energy and matter behaves acording to some few rules. Everything is a result of how things were the moment before. How the universe looks right now is a result of how it looked just prior, etc...... all the way back to the start.

  • @N3CR1S the point of my example is that your example is far from how we understand it.

Then you say you have corrected my car example by showing an already completed car. So if you had such a good idea of what we think then why the strawman example the first time?

With your car example or mine we are both citing random chance as a cause. You look at the car and say that through a blind chain reaction it came to be what it is. I'm saying also by a blind chain reaction it came to be what it is.

  • @MeTolerateYou 2

The difference in our examples is we are at different points in the timeline.

What's key to my example over your salt example is that the end is result is functional. As that is a true representation of what we observe now.

To say this happened by design is a more rational conclusion looking at our world. As Dawkins constantly admits "it certainly seems designed" but then also says thats irrational.

What is wrong with looking at a portrait and concluding there is a painter?

  • @MeTolerateYou It wasnt a strawman, the salt example was perfectly valid in that it highlights the flaws one makes when looking upon the outcome of something and claim that it is impossible.

  • @N3CR1S It's perfectly possible to through grains of salt in the air and have any number of positions happen. However if they all landed in such a way that it spelt out your name address and telephone number you would be rational to think there was something else going on.

You are right though if you're suggesting we don't need to prove our world's probability because it is actual. That's true, but given how unlikely it is, it is rational to think it was designed even if it isn't.

  • @MeTolerateYou The difference between you and me is that i understand the processes that formed our universe, and i work with the process that shapes the life on our planet. We therefore see different thing while looking at the "grains of salt". I see them landing randomly but goverened by rules. You dont know why they landed as they did, and therefore obsess about the fact that they happened to land as they did.

  • @N3CR1S Firstly of all, that's a presumption that I don't understand. You only say that because of preconceptions you have about people in my position, mainly believers in God.

You also seem to think because you can understand a mechanism that there for means there is no purpose for it.

I recently saw a video by OK Go, in which a long chain reaction of events governed by the laws of physics, the end result being a beautiful video. The existence of a mechanism does mean it has no purpose.

  • @MeTolerateYou By doing this you are making statements that go way beyond what any evidence tells you.

So in response "The difference between you and me is that I " don't believe I am the absolute authority on truth. My personal feelings on the matter are irrelevant to what the truth actually is. Therefore what I am not prepared to do is to make a massive jump to assume that God does or does not exist on the basis that I understand a mechanism.

  • @MeTolerateYou I am not going to argue, but I have to say that believing in God allows me to make sense of my life. It doesn't matter if you think objectively about God, He exists whether you believe or not. I hope that one day you will know Him.

  • @emasters7 awwwwhy's that?:(

  • I never appreciated this song until I fell in love.

  • @CTCodemonkey Interesting

  • What if God is singing that back to us? He has a question, Where are you? My heart breaks for my Lord if He is that sad at our silence. Talk to Him Now. Please.

  • The answer to the question is that He is always there, we are the ones who have left the pathway laid out for us and gone our own way!

  • you right in that answer. my question is way did leave that path he laid out for me ? when i try to return it just doesn't seem real. pray for me please.i want to love him and sit by his side an hear his voice again. faith hope an love to u all

  • Ask the Father to have the Helper, the Holy Spirit, bring Jesus to you. And don't strain. Relax, believe, and trust. He will come to your side.

  • mashwo1, there are various reasons why we leave the path laid out for us. We are selfish beings and if we don't get what we want we blame God. I blamed God for the death of my father, and i have not been the same in my Christian life since then. Like you i try to return but it does not seem real, and i keep questioning God's existence. But i keep pressing on and there are good days and bad, but God is still there whether we believe it or not. I pray that God will keep us in His path.

  • This song makes me cry every time and it's by far their best if not one of the best Xian songs for this age. I think a lot of people can relate. I am someday going to do a video for this but it will be a lot darker and maybe a very angry cover of it. There is going to be more passion in mine.

  • @MistaVideo I can see that you're trying to say this is a good song. The downside is you prop it up to fall. It's the best Xian song? Does that stand for "Cross"ian? Just write Christian, it's okay. It's not just okay; it's better.

Also, an angry darker cover does not equal more passion. It takes more passion to write the song not to diminish the original intent or reinterpret the meaning by covering it.

  • I first thought this was highly depressing. However, I love it. The words are very sobering. Life is not always "perfect" - and we face hardship and need to work through it and by the grace of God we can be freed of much pain.

  • he's the healer of broken hearts.

  • I like Jars of Clay based on the merits of their music, independent of what inspires them to compose and play it.

  • Jesus Prayed to God the Father in Heaven,,,,,God is in Heaven, His Son camfe to Earth, and left God's Holy Spirit HERE FOR US! it's here to help us,,,,God in heaven, god on earth, god in us by holy spirit

  • Its because of mans God-given free agency, the right to choose for ourselves, which causes pain and misery in the world. Yes God is there, but he cannot control us. We control ourselves, whether we will follow a loving and merciful God, or the father of Hate and lies, Satan. Its mans in hands to change ourselves and the world, not Gods.

  • @yellowjellybean79 I am taking a Theophostic class. Going to the history of emotions that seem to bring us grief. Jesus shows us we are valued and can hold to his truths and leave the half truths and lies we sometimes believe. Being healed of pain attached to emotions. We can receive more daily freedom.

  • You people give god too much credit. In the bible it states very clearly that we are creatures of free will. You pull yourself through tough times, you do this by yourself or with the help of another human. He seems to be searching for god, upset that maybe he needed him, and as usual, "god works in mysterious ways." I think that's a cop out. despite the negative comments, I've been a fan of JOC for nearly 16 years. Great song, but it's deeper than anyone here will let on.

  • Read more, God gave us free will

  • Not trying to be confrontational, but what do you mean?

  • I absolutely love this song. Went through a time like that back in Januraru. It was rough. But as always God brought me through...Psalm 112:4.

  • we have all been there - at one time or another

  • powerful video with this song

  • Christ asked that question, alone in the Garden of Gethsemene, and the next morning on the cross: "My God! My God! Why have you forsaken me?" Father, Father, why have you left me?

I love this song. There are times when, all alone, we don't feel God is with us, and we ask, "Where are you?" Maundy Thursday and Good Friday show us that even Jesus felt that way - that when we are in those depths, even when we can't feel His presence, He has been there too; that He is with us even there.

  • I forgot how much I loved this song. So beautiful. So aching. So powerful.

  • the most powerful thing about this song is that it doesn't have an answer

  • Or does it?

  • Probably the most moving Jars song I've heard. The character in this video could have lost a friend or loved one and is hurting over that. But I think it's meant to ask, "Hey God, where ARE you?" Because when times get rough, and life is hard, and maybe you lose all hope, you wonder why? Where IS GOD? Though you know He is right there to carry you through, sometimes it's still difficult to keep hope alive. Yet we have to believe that He loves us and has a plan and purpose to bless us in the end.

  • Jars of Clay is a Grammy Award winning Christian rock band from Franklin, Tennessee.

  • ok thanks!

  • no one is from franklin tennessee they go there lol

  • well...when i see this i can only feel a lil more for the men that go through this , but yet never share thier pain...we women tend to cry often to our family and friends, where as men tend to bottle things up...wow...i was moved by this video ...great vid , very touching,, very real ....

  • Awesome video. There are many moments in the lives of those who follow God when we want to know He is near. Nice video. I like the way it shows that longing and need for an answer, that need to hear from the most important person-- God.

  • I Think that is the journey! Pure Bliss & when we struggle Sad,angry Ect! In All things Rest in Him!

  • On the 3rd of April we lost a beloved family friend, and we're not sure about his salvation. He was so close; we choose to have faith about it.

This song makes me think of him.

  • once in our lives we hadbeen this kind of feeling

Hope God shows his love face again, and embrace us tender

at all may God be praise and we bless

  • starteing at 1:17 till 1:25 you look like a murderer in a horror movie man, tht was freaky, looked liked u were gonna kill someone.

  • Deppressing video. I love jars of clay but unfortunatley most christian music is pain or false happy. Don't jump all over me. been there done that. I'm a believer. just not in categories or organizations. The thing touched me but not in a good way at this point

  • ♪♪♪Beautiful♪♪♪

  • This song has so much meaning to me... sometimes i crank this one real loud in my room and just feel with it.

  • i love Jars Of Clay every song thank you for music

  • idiot no

    PERFECT

  • Well I was here for one of my fav Jars of Clay songs originally, The first time I saw the video, I didnt think it was a masterpiece, but after seeing it a few times now I have adapted to the position of; I really luv it. Bravo+

  • this video really fits SO MUCH

    thank you

  • Great song, lyrics, arrangement, instrumentsl, etc. A great response would be endless - however, check out Scott Stapps "Broken". As the Jars have conveyed, we have to sometimes be broken in order to receive or understand God's blessings and his will. (To overcome our will - our will can send us in a tailspin, can lead us into the abyss - however, God has designed us to be like him and live for our creator - something much better - to save us and bring us to full glory - AMEN.

  • Motordevelopment, I just to across a tough time, was many months, i don't feel him yet, but is just by faith, and very important "the pray" is the only way that you can't fall, this is a time to believe in spite of you can't see and feel him, this is because all the promises was given to you but God teach me that he doesn't leave me He is invisible but hang on you in his hands, you're so valious for him but is time to apply all that you know and trust in him, and believe him and cheer up!

  • Hard times are faith-building times. Man, I'm impressed by people who have learned that lesson. God blesses!

  • man i love this song

  • continued .... realy walked underneath the cross and put yourself on that cross with Christand vowed for as long as you live to give up all your efforts and just to live in Christ putting your hands where the nails are and believing with all ur heart soul and mind so i will pray for u my friend to give up trying in the flesh and to live in christ and to offer your body as a holy and pleasing sacrifice to God

  • I am convinced that there is no feeling that can compare with the feeling of loneliness. It literally sucks the life out of you. I know this to be true because I am going through it at this present moment.

All who know and fear the Lord, please pray for me. I haven't been myself in a while. I am in deep pain. Please, I need help.

Lord, if You hear me, You know the cry of my heart...where are You?

  • Hello my dear, i know exactly how you feel, yes life seems sucks, but God don´t leave you, maybe you can´t feel him but he is with you

  • Motordevelopment, Do not try to go thru this alone. Find a local church and seek counsel. Psalm 27:5 For in the day of trouble he will keep me safe in his dwelling. Also, please read your Bible. If you don't have one, google for a Bible site. Psalm 27:11 Teach me your way, O LORD; lead me in a straight path because of my oppressors. Psalm 27:13 I am still confident of this: I will see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living.

  • I'm pryaing for you. Trust me, I've been there before. But I didn't ask for help. It was quite a while before I felt God again. Thanks to my youth group I was relieved of that awful burden. I'm glad you are reaching out for help because I found out that you'll never make it on your own. We need Jesus, and we need other followers to help us along. God blees you. The light WILL come and Jesus will NEVER leace or forsake you. He's with you even if you may not feel him. Hold on to Jesus! :)

  • You might want to speak with someone who has also gone through this you look up to, good godly counsel. Take good care of yourself physically, emotionally and spiritually. May you draw much strength from the Lord and love deeply. He can help you through this and take you to the next wonderful step awaiting you.

  • Is there anything in particular I can pray for you for? I will pray for you in Christ's name.

  • motordevelopment they have been saying to you to hold on to Jesus and i think the problem inyour loneliness is that you are not seeking God in prayer and you are not letting Jesus hold on to you because I think that when you came to christ all u ever wanted was forgiveness and thats all u ever got and u just wanted a way out from Hell and u got it and ever since you have been trying in your own efforts to keep a relationship with Christ but every time you have failed because you have never

  • Very touching - great song, neat video. Just when we think we may be in the deepest, darkest hole, God's sweet voice is heard, some sign of him shows up and breaks the bleakness. Through the hard times, God shows us strength, courage and how powerful he can work - we need to rest in his grace and perfectl love. Don't give up - he doesn't.

  • ..Te amo Blanki... I thank God that he sent you..

  • ..yeah I know what is like to be alone... and cry... and hear your own eco ...its sad... and when the person you really love more than everything... just goes away from your hands... like the water you needed... and you ask yourself why it has to be like this...

but then you see God is there... holding your soul... is it true and you start to feel good...

  • You really got my soul with this video... touched Deep into the soul of my pain. How many times have i cried out... Asked for help.. asked for deliverance.. asked why... How many times do i feel alone... But i know... deep in my spirit.. that HE holds me still. Thank You~

  • this got me crying, when i was in secondary school, ive felt this. depression really kicks in when you ask something from HIm, and youre expecting it but nothing. 2 things punishment or trials.

I've even rip the pages of the Bible and burned it. I guess you gotta pass that stage.

I'm more ok now, but still weak.

    crackpot

  • Always remember God loves you so much. Remember forgiveness is a great start, grace, mercy, compassion for yourself and then it is easier to accept others. Jesus made it possible for you to live large by faith - it is what he has done for you and how you can live with courage and strength - resting in his love. Try reading Galatians chapters 5 & 6 - great passages.

  • a really love this song. great band!!!

  • oh my god. this is beatyful. I other words there still people outside that did not know what is the meaNINg of the lyrics. I love this band . IF YOU HAVE TIME SEARCH FOR LIGHT GIVES HEAT WHERE A MOTHER IS HOLDING HER KID JARS OF CLAY. son magnificos y ellos han tocado mi vida

  • It's important to know that when Jesus said he is by our side and will never leave us or forsake us... it is a fake. I hear too many people say that "He is silent"...the knowledge when he is there changes everything, it changed me when I reached out for him "when he was silent" and was stunned when I truly felt God's smile, I call it my "inner smile" now

  • ok sorry i meant fact not fake lol

  • hmm...a good video..just not sure i understood

    who's the guy?

  • Who's your actor? Dad? Friend?

  • umm okay i didn't get the video...i got the song though.

  • great song really gets you through the tough times

  • excelent video!

Great show with the red roof top or ceeling!

great "alice in chains video" kind off effect of light on face! great man!

  • You made me sad. I want to give you a hug. *hug*

  • Okay. <3

  • random stuff.....thats the problem when He is quiet..
