Spilt Milk was a combination of Queen, Pet Sounds era Beach Boys, with the vocals by the guy from Cheap Trick. I've never really heard the Beatles' influence on this album, that a lot of people like to assign to the band. Maybe on the Bellybutton album, but not this one.
@TheDrakebellcovers You're kidding, right?? I just youtubed it & the guy can't even sing in tune, let alone the horrible whiny tone of his voice... terrible!!!
Puffy's version takes the soul out of the tune... Just my opinion... but just so you knw, because of your comment I did seek out Puffy's version (produced by Andy Sturmer of Jellyfish, BTW) and gave a it a fair shake...
The first time I heard this song, It wasn't the original. after who knows how many years, I finally thank curiosity for getting to me, because Puffy just butchered this amazing song,
@sailormoon1013 They "butchered" it? Andy Sturmer wrote and produced their version, and he was Jellyfish's drummer. The women don't write the lyrics or music.
@CakeS2k What some call "ripping off" some understand to be simple influence. Best I can tell so far (and I learn new shit everyday), art, individuals, most stuff, is a sum of its respective influences. You can totally tell they listened to a lot of Brian Wilson's work, as well as Queen...I mean...they sound pretty tight to me...and I'd venture to say that I'm a discriminating listener...sorry you think they suck. I have to disagree.
haha. This used to be my favorite band just last year and it had been for years before then. I can't believe I forgot all about them until today! My friend in English just happened to introduce them as "some obscure 90s rock band" that his teacher told him about. Needless to say, I flipped out.
andy is somewhere, roger performs, jason has music to and so does eric. i bet chris and tim do something to. I KNOW MY JELLYFISH!!! my sisters lucky 'cause she got to go to concert.

When I first heard this, I thought there was a Queen song which had slipped me by. Brilliant tune. He should work with Queen as the new singer.
